Re: The Sundered Way
Randy shakes his head negative. "Not these, Zokk. They exist only to destroy the living. Quite literally for them, it's a war with no rules except one: kill. They can drain your life force directly, like what happened with me. If it had killed me that way, you'd have to burn my body to keep it from rising as an undead under it's control."

Re: The Sundered Way
Dornikal waves some dragonborn over and points to the dead dragonborn. He puts the silly hat on and begins trying to figure out how they want their dead handled.
He will pantomime digging then burning to see if either of those are appropriate.

Re: The Sundered Way
Randy looks thoughtful.
"Ghosts can be of any persuasion. Depends on what the person was like in life. Revenants are like zombies with a purpose, usually vengeance for their wrongful death. Vampires are predatory, but can sometimes be bargained with. I wouldn't trust them, however. As a general rule, the undead and the living don't mix."

Come on, how hard is this to get?: 1D20+1 = [6]+1 = 7
Dornikal looks to Galt and Tren and says,
"Ye understand what aye'm doing right? This is clear to ye? By Dumathoin this is frustrating."

"You're hungry."
"All hail Dumathoin?"
Galt and Tren guess at the same time, sharing a glance and a grin.

"Yer both right but yer also both spork heads."
Dornikal sighs and then just points at the dead dragonborn to the living ones before stepping back to see what, if anything, they do.

(( There ARE two individuals who speak dragon just fine, you know. If you wanted to burn the bodies, you wouldn't even need to explain much to Zokk, given that Randy has already had that conversation with him. ))

"Such language from you Preacher!"
Galt says with mock horror as he tosses Dornikal a packet of jerky.
"Here, I think you're just hangry."
One of the squads is watching the dwarf's antics curiously, while the others are moving among the dead, carrying all of the remains to a central point where they are respectfully searching the bodies and stacking them.

Re: The Sundered Way
Dornikal looks at the jerky then the jerky like bodies of the zombies.
"Hm."
He shrugs then chews a piece thoughtfully while noting what the dragonborn are doing.
((Both of the people that speak draconic are over talking undead shop. Dornikal is trying to get this taken care of!))

One of them peels off to come talk to the party that's nearby. He knocks on his head and points at Dornikal.
"You can ear the words I mouth? Our dead we return to the sand with flame. Should the others join them?"

Re: The Sundered Way
Dornikal swallows the jerky and gives the gesture they use for a nod of agreement.
"Let's move these others over near the dragonborn. They're going to burn them and it's probably the best solution for these too. Might as well search them as well, maybe we can figure out who they were and how they ended up like they did."
Dornikal does a cursory search of a body then respectfully carries it to a spot to be burned and repeats the process as many times as needed.

Coljin will assist Dornikal with the searching and them moving the zombies to the burial mound.

Torn clothes, stained with dried blood, viscera and other foul secretions. Most of the zombie horde don't seem to have even had intact pockets.

Re: The Sundered Way
The undead that Randy indentified as a wight is the only one wearing anything that seems of value, though doesn't seem to have use for coin, they are wearing dark studded leather, and equipped with a longsword, longbow and quiver. Most of their arrows are in the sand where they'd shot them at the party.

Randy pokes around the wight and his weapons to see if he can find anything hidden or of possible interest.

Re: The Sundered Way
In addition to the previous weapons and armor, Randy finds a simple gold band on a chain around their neck.
The armor and bow seem fairly standard, but the sword is a bit fancier, with faint engraving along the blade.

"Gotta hit on the sword. Transmutation and necromancy. Bet it can drain life energy and transfers it to the wielder. That'd be about right for a wight. "

(Not with long bow...but having a range option where something like this happens again would be nice)
