Maji raises one finger up when Randy mentions his spells. He gives a sigh and paces around slightly. If they had the wagon this would be a non issue. He gives a disheartened sigh.
If they make camp, Maji will make a batch of goodberries, ready to hand them out to all but Zephyr.
(He'd rather split it up as follows: 2 Maji, 2 Randy, 2 Coljin, 2 Tess, 2 Ulmwin) I don't think I forgot anybody.

"If we're careful with the water, I suspect Maj and I could handle the food side for a while. We'd be a bit lean by the time we got to the cities, but I don't think we'd starve. And this IS a caravan route. We might have to work for our keep, but most caravan masters won't turn bandit victims away. They know too well it might be them next time and they don't want a reputation for stinginess. 'Pay back is hell' they say."

Randy gives a bit of a tired looking smile. "Didn't say we should write them off. I'm all for trying to get them back. But before we try taking it back, we'll need to rest. We can do that now, or try to catch up with the wagon tonight and then rest. We'll have to catch up again in that case. Six of one, half dozen of another. The advantage of resting now is that Coljin might be in better shape to try to catch up later." He shrugs and spreads his hands out. "It's your wagon, so ultimately your call. You may want to talk it over with Coljin, though."

Perhaps those of us with good night vision and who aren't too hurt could scout a little way down one of the tracks. If there's a camp nearby, we can decide how best to handle things. I can go a little further tonight."

I'm afraid, though, I'd be more of a hindrance and put the scout party at risk in the dark. Ulmwin can go with you and Zephyr. Maj, Holger, and myself can stay here with Coljin. Don't go so far that you can't call for help. Yell and Holger and I will come running. Whatever you do, don't get separated. When you come back message Hoger or me so we know that it's you."

The breeze has filled them in somewhat, but they head southward. Following the tracks, they lead you to rockier ground, and are growing fainter and fainter...

The tracks seem to be leading toward a low rocky formation a half mile or so distant. You're somewhere less than a mile south from the roadway.
