Dornikal heads over to Tess and says,

"That tree thing says it's Holger's grandson... somehow and it calls Maji it's parent? The tree down there that broke the portal is it's dad and honestly... Well aye'm confused."

To Randy and Zokk,

"Ye going to the hospital to find Holger? If ye are aye can meet ye at the station house and debrief with Anders. Aye need to go by and get meh vestments. Aye can get yer clothes too Randy."

To Tess,

"Ye going with them? Yer welcome to keep meh company if ye'd like. In this town aye wouldn't mind the company!"

[Arch Lich Burns]

”Paaaareeent saaaiiid uuuncleeee Maaaajiii waaas friiiieeend tooo paaareeent aaaand puuuurpleeee maaark iiis graaandpaaareeent.” Zokk turns to Randy. ”I woooood liiikeeee tooo seeee graaaandpaaareeent.”

Randy looks thoughtful. "If you don't mind a small detour, it might be wise to see the guard's Commander first. That way we can clear any ...official difficulties out of the way. Plus if we can talk him into giving you a guard to escort you around town to start with, it may go a long ways towards easing the minds of the citizens. If nothing else, we need him to pass the word to his men that you aren't a threat. It would be a courtesy to check in with him regardless."

"Aye'm not sure having a minder is going to make meh look less dangerous to these folks. They aren't violent so much as rude but we can see."

((Where is the station in relation to where Randy and Dornikal bought their clothes? The infirmary was right next to the station if I recall correctly.))

"Definitely going to check in with Anders but aye forgot aye was supposed to pick up meh vestments this morning. Aye also suspect aye'll be able to get meh things and get to the station quicker than ye and Zokk. Ye saw how the farmer looked at the three of us, aye'm just another attention grabber!"

He looks at Tess then over at Randy and Zokk.

"Hmm, we seem to have quite the knack for attracting people unable to communicate normally.. We should probably employ a diviner if this trend continues."

Gordon is spending much of his time pacing around the room and sitting on the bed, head in hands.

(He mentions (repeatedly) his frustration about not being able to remember anything)

As he sits on the bed hanging his head in frustration, he clicks his fingers and looks up with a glimmer of hope in his eyes.

"I'll come with you Dornikal. Wouldn't want you getting into trouble walking the city streets without an escort!" She says, laughing.

"I assume the tree is just more of Holgers wild magic causing chaos? How long do you think it'll last?"

As the four of you approach the gate, the guards let out a few surprised sounds.

"You Randy and Dornikal?"

"Anders said you'd be along with an 'unusual traveling companion'..."

"Wouldn't tell us though, said he didn't want to spoil it."

"Ummm... is it well behaved?"

((To be clear, they are looking at Zokk, not Tess as they say this. ))

Ulmwin asks to his companions if any know where that might have gone.

"Randy has the Lance, Ulmwin." Coljin will assist with medical/bandaging changing or whatever for about an hour and then excuse himself to go back to the Goat. "If you need me for something you can find me or leave a message for me at the inn." he tells the other healers with a smile.

"Yeah, that's alright. I'll wait for now- Don't stay back forever though, I still have a store to go by, I have my love waiting for me there!" he states- He's not going to explain "his love" means his lute unless they specifically ask...

"Forks and spoons, it talks!"

The other guard shushes his companion. "Apologies. Nice to meet you, mist... ah... Friend Tree."

Alfred thanks Coljin profusely, but the old fellow is swaying on his feet with exhaustion, and soon takes his leave as well.

"Well that's great, love. You'll outlive us all!"

To Dornikal: "If it thinks Holger's its granddad, who does it think its parents are?"

"The tree that destroyed the portal. Nicest tree aye've met honestly. Weirdly."

To the guards,

"Got a quick errand to run then aye'll be heading to speak with Anders. Aye assume that's okay?"

If it is he'll ask directions and head there at a brisk pace with Tess.

((Did Randy want him to pick up his clothes too?))

"Sure, ah... Yes, that's fine."

They seem at a loss, Anders said you guys are alright, but you've got a forking tree walking around with you.

"Umm, perhaps a guard escort might be good for the tree fellow? Just to calm the citizens?"

[Arch Lich Burns]

Zokk tilts their head. ”Whyyy dooo yooouuu saaay I aaam fooorkiiing? I dooooo nooot miiiindiiing cooompaaany toooo seee graaaaandpaareeent.”

The guard looks to Randy in a bit of confused panic. Explaining cursing to a tree is not anything he though he'd be doing today.

Dornikal shakes his head and waves to Randy as he starts to move off,

"Aye'll see you at the station Randy...Zokk."

He grumbles to Tess as he walks,

"Dumathoin help meh but aye thought yesterday was an odd day what with going to a demiplane of water and monsters. Eighty-eight years Tess, eighty-eight years in Dumathoin's grace and aye never thought, never dreamed, aye'd be talking to a tree and it'd be talking back."

Randy is watching this with some amusement. " I think an escort would be an excellent idea."
Randy nods to Dornikal. "You can check and see if it's ready. I think the merchant said it'd take three days for it to be ready though."

Holger shrugs a bit about the lance, but decides to create an illusion of it, standing in the middle of the room.

"Not that it really matters who he is, only thing that might be alive from his time would be dragons and doubt one gnome would garner their attention. Not to mention that the gnomish civilization is history.."

((Not sure that Holger would have had much time to make a study of the lance, it was decorated in seaweed and the like, much of which probably would have been removed by Randy on the walk, but to get a long rest in, I don't think it's been cleaned or studied. That being said, Badge, you can attempt a Recollection Check, with your standard penalties.))

One of the guards accompanies Randy and Zokk, stopping the first pair of patrolling guards he sees (who are in the middle of gawking at Zokk), sending one of them back to the gate, while the other joins your little entourage. As you move through the streets, people stop whatever they are doing to watch and whisper about the tree strolling through the town. A small crowd begins to gather and follow you into the city.

Dornikal and Tess have gotten out well enough ahead that they aren't slowed by what is becoming quite the processional, though they hear the crowds flocking behind them.
