Randy quickly makes his way to near the cliff base. He intently studies the top that is visible. He digs into his pack and pulls out his rope.
"Someone get me another rope. Zokk, I need to borrow your immovable rod. There might not be anything at the top to tie the ropes to. I figure two ropes will hold your and Ulmwin's weight. Quickly now! We don't have much time! Everyone gather 'round and be ready to climb fast once I drop the ropes."
Once he has the second rope he quickly ties a hard loop onto the ends, and turns to look expectantly at Zokk.

Randy looks up at the top of the cliff and steps forward, disappearing in a puff of silver smoke and reappearing at the top of the cliff ((Misty step: Range is line of sight up to 30 ft.)). He steps about two foot back from the edge and shoves the rod hard against the rock in an upright position and clicks the button, fixing it there. He loops the pre tied ropes over the rod and throws the other ends off the cliff.
"Climb for it!"
He unlimbers his bow and prepares to fire on the first creature that gets too close.

(( We're not in combat...yet...so I think we're just role playing for now. Previous combat ended when we killed the thing. Spider was also allowing people to post their actions more as a group rather than regular turn base, since we're all scattered around in different time zones and have different schedules. ))

If no one else is listening to Randy's advice, Coljin will climb the rope for the cliff top. He can be just as useful from up there he decides.

Dornikal waves Tren and Galt over to where the ropes will be dropping and has them climb up. If time allows he will climb up.
Tren and then Galt climbing athletics: 1D20+5 = [6]+5 = 11
1D20+5 = [9]+5 = 14
Dornikal athletics, if time: 1D20+7 = [10]+7 = 17

Coljin will do a held action and if an insect scurries or pops up within 60' he will cast toll the dead on it.
His retainers will hold action and wait to toss javelins if a creature comes within close enough range so that they do not get disadvantage on their attack.

Zokk's first arrow nicks a joint, a spurt of fluid darkening the sand, the second one sticking in a gap in the carapace. The creature is pretty injured and makes a chittering sound.
Coljin stands ready.
