Just expect him to be a little more paranoid and a bit more negative in general. Paranoid people suspect that the universe is out to get them. Randy knows it (or at least some major players). :paranoia:

Sure, but Randy is also poking at Nem's biggest fear and she's still never quite made up her mind about him.

Fair enough. Randy knows she's running some kind of a game. He just doesn't know what and how worried he should be. He thinks he can trust her...to a point.

Why not? :P

Sorry, you'll need to be a bit more specific.

I'm just not sure why he thinks she's running a game rather than there being some other explanation. I guess I'm just not sure what he's going on - if it's just the eye thing or if there's more.

I recall down in the ruins that he had noticed that things happen to come unlocked around Tess?

In general, she's been rather cagey about her abilities and just acts like she trying to hide something via distraction. Randy suspects she's 1) not human and 2) she's maybe hiding or on the run. Given past experience with military groups and being able to do confession for the temple, he's probably seen some of that kind of stuff before.
On the other hand, she's been a good colleague and been honest in the financial side. She willing to put herself at some risk for the group. So he's willing to give her the benefit of the doubt. Still, the longer she keeps playing this game, the more curious he's likely to become. Keeping major secrets in a group you're working closely with can sometimes come back to bite you. He's probably seen that too.

that's fine :) I'm more surprised at his timing than anything else to be honest (now I've remembered all the suspicious things she's been up to hahaha!)

Ah, well that's fairly simple. This is the first time since the blights where her hiding her abilities may be directly impacting his safety/well being. He respects her privacy. He doesn't respect it so much he's willing to take a hit for it, particularly if it's for something he knows/suspects anyway.

You also spent a month apart while training, and I get the sense that while traveling with the Abbey folk to the ruins, that Randy is discreet enough not to bring it up then either.

Maji needs to get a magic saddle so it's easier to give rides to party members.

He'd have to wear it while in dragonborn form, which would make things... interesting.

Just a heads up that I'll be traveling to see family starting tomorrow, and back on the 6th. I'll still be posting while there, but travel days will be sparse on my end.

Almost finished reading through Xanathar's...

Fun spell for a wild mage!

Chaos Bolt
1st-level evocation

Casting Time: 1 action
Range: 120 feet
Components: V, S
Duration: Instantaneous

You hurl an undulating, warbling mass of chaotic energy at one creature in range. Make a ranged spell attack against the target. On a hit, the target takes 2d8 + 1d6 damage. Choose one of the d8s. The number rolled on that die determines the attack's damage type, as shown below.

D8 damage type
1 Acid
2 Cold
3 Fire
4 Force
5 Lightning
6 Poison
7 Psychic
8 Thunder
If you roll the same number on both d8s, the chaotic energy leaps from the target to a different creature of your choice within 30 feet of it. Make a new attack roll against the new target, and make a new damage roll, which could cause the chaotic energy to leap again.

A creature can be targeted only once by each casting of this spell.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, each target takes 1d6 extra damage of the type rolled for each slot level above 1st.

Having a lot of internet issues locally. I'll try to get back in when I can. Hopefully tonight I be able to post. Still cleaning up the mess here at work.

One of the things I'm trying to do is streamline things on the back end of the game, which involves improvements to how I do maps, as well as how I handle monsters in encounters. I downloaded a monster template maker, and have input some of the modified things I've used in the past into a very slick stat block. Previously, it was a cobbled together thing that I made in powerpoint, now I've got nice, neat, high quality creature stat blocks for easy access.

For example, Dryderion, the centaur leader is a mashup between a centaur and the generic tribal warrior template.

And yes, I will be working on making better use of imgur for posting of maps in thread, to negate the need to click an additional link to be brought to my google drawings.

Not sure when I'll get around to them, but also allows me to make custom versions for Maji's forms...

((Also noticed while I was there... multiclassing doesn't give you additional Saving Throw proficiencies, so you won't get the STR and CON from your level in Barbarian.))

I THINK (and I could well be wring), that your starting proficiencies are determined only by your first class. Otherwise it'd be possible to dip twice and have saving throw proficiencies in everything.

You get the other benefits of dipping the new class, but not saves. I can check the DMG tomorrow if no one else has confirmed / refuted by then :)

That is correct, under "Class Features", the Hit Points apply, but you don't get starting character proficiencies or equipment.

The only proficiencies you get are outlined in the multiclassing proficiencies table:

So for Maji, he gets access to more weapons and shields, but not to Saving throws or skills. Similarly, if Gwen takes bard levels, she will get light armor, one skill and one instrument proficiency, not the any 3 skills and any 3 instruments.

I forgot about the CON+DEX on the bear, I'll change it next time I have the program open.
