Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
And to think, the only mistake I made was that I should have made Ulmwin smell like Holger or something... Though, is that even something he COULD do..? Would a gnome's nose even be strong enough to properly pick up on what those smells would be and act accordingly..?

Probably not, but might be able to do something to distract/mask scent in the future.

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
Ily & Nem could probably help get the scent right, since Nem would effectively be able to smell it through Ily's telepathy I guess. Probably isn't an issue we really need to worry about unless everyone we're trying to trick has a familiar / dogs though. Our current big problem seems to be snake people, which, of course, raises a whole other problem with IR vision

@Burns and Lurks - Dornikal isn't trying to take over the hunt, just doing some normal group hunting tactics. He even volunteered for the harder part of trying to get behind the prey.
There is probably also a group of desert predators on the other side of the canyon with his luck.

It's fine. Maji would probably agree with your reasoning. He can stay back and ready to maul some, or help herd.

But at least if you blunder into a den of vipers, they aren't driven to attack you!

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
Due to this talk of Maji possibly getting sheep horns as a goat, I wonder since Maji ate mutton very early in the game if he could become a sheep (stat wise prob same as goat)? Is it even possible to change the horns in that way to look drastically from a goat? What about having an odd/different pattren on fur/scales of some creatures?

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
It just occurred to me that we may be hunting someone's goats. Maybe should have checked that. Ah well.

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
Yeah, occurred to me as well. Worst comes to worst, we might wind up buying them at a rather exaggerated price (kind of hard to argue about value if you've already ate them). That is, unless you're dealing with someone who's already hostile. In which case, you probably didn't tick them off much more anyhow. And if it was a tribe of snake people,... well the mummy lord's curse is going to automatically make them mad anyway.

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
You mean like when you killed the dragonborn boy's herd of lizards and then murdered him?

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
Point to that. We'll hope that there aren't any herdsmen around. It's harder to negotiate a price if someone is actively trying to shoot you.

Zephyr was the one that killed him! Maji wanted to get closer to the guy and didn't think Z would throw something at him.

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
Maji would have probably agreed with you when it happened that he was partially to blame, and he felt responsible for it, but now he thinks it's her fault for killing the kid and his fault for trusting her a second time.

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
I have to admit, I was a little nervous about whether anything was going to come of that. When the kid was buried, Randy had all his belongings buried with him. The group couldn't be accused of being bandits in that case. The idea was that at least the tribesmen might stop and ask questions first rather than just declare blood vengeance before anyone had a chance to explain. I'm trying to remember if the kid started it or if Maj and Zephyr had killed a lizard first?

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
Maji was a giant badger and killed a lizard with Coljin, the kid got upset that Maji was eatting a small lizards and sent the other lizards on them and ran amist the battle. Maji eventually turned to a bear, Zephyr hopped on his back to give chase
...I think.

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
I think there was concern at the time that the kid would raise an alarm with his people and get us in trouble.

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
Having read the tale fairly recently I can confirm that Burns' account is pretty accurate. The something to note is that the group didn't know it was a kid or a dragonborn until after they'd killed it. I use it here as I can't remember the kid's gender.

Dragonborn are tough to tell for most folks, at least as juveniles.
