Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
If Randy's implied conversation gets a little too extreme, let me know. A fair number of my patients are former Navy. The saying "cuss like a sailor" is not an empty threat. That being said, if you get exposed to it enough, you tend not to be bothered by it much either. It's just part of the background noise when dealing with military and veterans.

Multiple people have goodberries, everybody but Zephyr, Holger and Tess (cause she ate 2) has 2.Rodgeir wrote: ↑Sun Jun 24, 2018 3:57 pm Would have raged before Korgal got there but Dornikal doesn't have any secondary weapons to Chuck at the moment. In hidesight it would have been better to rage and self hurt but the held attack seemed like a good idea.
Ah well. Wake him when you win! (Or sooner )
Also would you like to ride a raging bear into battle next time?

Why do I have the foreboding feeling this is going to end up with all of us being perched up on top of the cliff and we need a third adventurer party to rescue us again...

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
For real, can we stop having IC jabs at people ooc?
A goodberry isn't going to save anyone from the amount of damage these guys can deal out.

Thinks...That was I think my only jab I've ever made. But yeah.
But I think our time would be better spent talking strategy anyways.
So, Right now the upper team is spending time focusing on Killing korgal, but this guys a beast. If we heal burns, would he be able to jump into another skin and attack again, and would that be worth it?

He's a beast, but he's hurting. If we can keep away from him well enough we can probably take him down. I'm more worried about the shaman being able to heal / revive him to be honest. I think s/he should be targeted at the same time.
Edit to add: I'm also worried about vindictive coup de graces against Dornikal particularly.

Coljin could try to Silence the shaman, or do the area around her, that way there is no save if I don't focus it directly on her, but she can move out of the range of it then. But if Korgal falls, I can cast silence near to where he falls, then she hopefully cannot cast healing to bring him back up.

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
Could be good if we had a way to restrain the shaman within the silent area. Other than Maji's spell and just grappling, I'm not sure what our options are for that though.
Still, casting silence as a readied action would at least pretty much guarantee that it'd work, since it would target the shaman as they begin casting, and prevent them moving out the area first.

Randy did peg her once, but he shifted target to the runaway bulldozer. He's not targeting Yertek yet. One incipient disaster at a time....

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
Just a reminder on casting as a prepared action, that you're beginning casting on your turn, and must concentrate to hold it until triggered. That means you can't be concentrating on another spell, and if you take damage, must maintain concentration if you take damage. If it's a spell that uses a slot, if the trigger doesn't happen and you end up not casting the spell, the slot is still spent.thinkslogically wrote: ↑Mon Jun 25, 2018 7:39 am Still, casting silence as a readied action would at least pretty much guarantee that it'd work, since it would target the shaman as they begin casting, and prevent them moving out the area first.

Woo! Maji is back to land of the living. Now the tricky part is staying alive. Maji knows better than attacking someone that just put him down. At least this low on hp.

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
I just read up on silence. It's changed during editions. You can know longer target an item or person, it instead just targets an spot and then has area effect.
Hmmm. Now everyone stop getting hurt. Coljin wants to do something other than healing.

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
Yeah I looked it up to see if the wordung was like Darkness, but it's not. It'd be very handy to be able to target an object (e.g. an arcane focus) with the silence spell, but it would also be completely broken

Question, how much movement does it cost to get from prone?

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
Half of your movement to get up. ninja'd
I am not sure there is much of a chance of Dornikal not going down again this round. Still going to give it a swing.
Also I am concerned by the sound going on in the cave. That is trouble.

I would suggest the dodge action. We "lose" one attack but the chance for him hitting twice is a lot worse as well
Or attack as I post this

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
If Zephyr shields Dornikal again (right Badge?) a dodge would only really impact the second attack. Not sure the attack trade off there is worth it and he would need to do 13+ damage. Which is totally a possibility either way.
@Theis we have our timings matched at least!
I read on sage advice that death rolls could in some cases get modifiers but I don't remember the cases...spiderwrangler wrote: ↑Mon Jun 25, 2018 10:08 am ((Death rolls don't get a modifier, but an 18 still works.))
