Although, with dual wielder feat, you can swing double rapiers, 15 (2d8+6) damage beats 13 (2d12) damage, and you don't need a horse.

Sure, sure. Did you take Dual Wielder last level? Thought you put ASI into stats?

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
Randy's had the two weapon fighting skill for a while. I take it that you're implying that a different skill is required?

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
Anyone can try to two weapon fight, as long as its with light weapons, but most folks don't have your training, and can only do a weapon die of damage with the off hand.
The Two Weapon Fighting Style from ranger gives you the following:Two-Weapon Fighting: When you take the Attack action and attack with a light melee weapon that you’re holding in one hand, you can use a bonus action to attack with a different light melee weapon that you’re holding in the other hand. You don’t add your ability modifier to the damage of the bonus attack, unless that modifier is negative.
You can also take a feat which makes you extra adept at using two weapons in combat:Two-Weapon Fighting Style: When you engage in two-weapon fighting, you can add your ability modifier to the damage of the second attack.
So... it is only that feat that makes it possible to dual wield lances, since they aren't light, and wouldn't meet that criteria of base 2-weapon fighting.Dual Wielder:
You master fighting with two weapons, gaining the following benefits:
• You gain a +1 bonus to AC while you are wielding a separate melee weapon in each hand.
• You can use two-weapon fighting even when the one handed melee weapons you are wielding aren’t light.
• You can draw or stow two one-handed weapons when you would normally be able to draw or stow only one.

Have any of you purchased or read the Ghosts of Saltmarsh, one of the newer DND hardcover books. It's intriguing me. I've always enjoyed stories about ships and water faring.
The reviews for it seem pretty good.

Heard it was good if you like ship based adventures! I am going to play a live game with it at the end of the month and can give you feedback from that. If you can wait a week .

If this game ended up taking a nautical bend, I was planning on picking it up.

For things like the attempt that Tess is making to unlock the door, I'm more prone to have failures make it more difficult on subsequent checks or take extra time, Etc rather than just a One-Shot "oops you fail. You can't try again." approach.

So.....
Would it be reasonable for Randy to be able to ask the All Mother for any kind of advice, or is that a cleric thing only?

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
I think I'll save that one for a bit, now that I think on it. Randy's interactions with Her to date involve being drafted and getting "lectured" while cooling his heals waiting to see if he gets revived. All of which would leave him feeling rather reluctant to directly approach Her again at his point, in a kind of "Mom I screwed up and wrecked the car" kind of way.

She does seem to be a bit less 'hugs and kisses' than Coljin's goddess...

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
Considering that in her true form, she's a mutidiminsional giant space squid with WAY too many arms, I think "hugs" are precisely what Randy is worried about.

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
The thing that actually scarred Randy is that she behaves like an actual old lady.
"Randy! How is my favorite little inquisitor doing? Come here- Give me a hug! I made some ct'iul too, want to try some? Nono, I INSIST."

That's a little more "crazy cat lady" than is comfortable. I was thinking more "Mother of a bunch of rowdy pre-teens".

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
Why would anyone expect an ancient Eldritch God to not make them uncomfortable? Crazy cat lady seems like the very best possible option
