Yeah, a full green suit is tacky. It makes me either think pimp (we already made one forumite into one this week) or the Riddler.

Yes, but on my computer it looks like it's vanished rather than become a broken link.

Ooc: Imgur is the one I use. No log in needed and they are the goto host for reddit images so they're really stable.

Well, Jimmy has the tire iron with him, and has left the main party. The dumbells are in group loot.

though in that regard, group needs to be talked about...when the entire group splits up, what will happen to the "group loot"...it should probably be figured out either 1. who is carrying the stuff and/or 2. will it be dropped and picked up later.

I'll probably deem group loot to remain with the majority, or largest group of survivors. If you want to go off by yourself, you don't take group loot with you unless you specifically say you're taking something. Hopefully you guys will settle somewhere temporarily in the near future and it will remain there.

Once Quarg and Alaen have posted some actions, I'll work on an update when I have a spare moment. Just a forewarning though that work is knocking me for six currently, so I definitely can't update at work. Hopefully it will be tomorrow night, provided the two previously mentioned post their actions. If it runs over a week I will autopilot their actions.

Some notes about this update:

1. Sorry for the delay, my last day today before paternity leave so I've been spending this week fervently trying to wrap everything up at work.
2. Travelling between blocks in Rolla does not constitute a whole move, given you only take about 30 seconds to walk a block.
3. As such, @Spider, you get another turn to move or search depending on what you want to do now.
4. @Chuck, if you want to battle the snake you will be in combat mode, if you want to close the door to the bedroom you can search the house (as part of the last update) but will miss out on any loot that may have been in the bedroom.
5. @Quarg, you are in combat mode.
6. Ladies, I took the liberty of having you search the church given I figured that is what you would do had I said moving to the church wasnt your full turn.
7. I have my terms wrong, it is your typical American water tower with Rolla painted on it, not a silo or grain silo.

Also, baby could be here any day now and is expected slightly early over the weekend. I will do my best to finish off the combat rounds, but I have no idea when the next update may be. Given I have three weeks off, it might be quite easy for me to squeeze in an update, or looking after a baby may be ridiculously taxing and I can't manage any. Please be aware I am not bored of this game or losing interest in the slightest and am excited for you guys to continue, so will update when I can but bear in mind it WILL be very sporadic from here on out for at least the next month. Fingers crossed I can still manage weekly updates, but I won't push myself to do so if things are full-on.

I forgot to mention, for the simplicity of towns, each building will be able to be searched in 15 minutes (otherwise we would spend an hour or two searching each house, which seems a little too excessive) including the feature buildings, unless specified (eg a school.) The houses are just simple one or two bedroom cottage type homes. Larger farmhouses/feature buildings/scenes in between towns may have other areas to search, like the farmhouse did.
Sorry, I forgot to answer Spider's question earlier. The boarded up or damaged buildings are not intended to be searched as they are either burnt out shells of homes, perhaps homes that have been smashed or hit by a car etc, or just so heavily boarded up or barricaded that it would take too long to get into to make it worth your while. Given Rolla was a sleepy town that was close to extinction even before the outbreak, many of these homes have been boarded up long before the outbreak began and would have little of value anyway. (And it saves me time making content to find!)

No idea what we'll do with cities on a larger scale, maybe dedicate an hour at a time to searching whole blocks? Cities was always going to be the part where I'd struggle, both in terms of quantity and content of loot, and maps/layouts. But we'll get there. If anyone has any other suggestions other than the status quo, or doesn't mind how Rolla as a starter is turning out, let me know.

Rolla is cool and the mechanic seems to be working :) By the time we reach a city we should (hopefully) have a stronger idea of the things we do and do not need so and possibly have a base somewhere else by then. We might only be doing raiding trips into cities or passing through, that kind of thing. It might make sense to speed up the time a bit for realism (so a whole city block takes 1+ hours to search through) but I'm sure whatever you decide to do will work out.

@Nikohl: What kind of end-of-the-world-ist was Honey? Was she religiously driven or did her family believe in something else? Just curious, but don't feel you have to say if this is something you'd rather discuss IC.

It'll come up IC soon enough, I'm sure, but she's strongly atheist.

She is, however, basically a cultist: her family's way of doing things is essentially a 'religion' to her; the way she was raised is strict enough, dogmatic enough, insular enough and preachy enough to count as doctrine, and the word of her family elders is akin to the word of God, and there's plenty of dumbass but firmly held beliefs in there that she'll defend til she's blue in the face - she could pass as a "bible thumper" (using the term specifically to mean the stereotypical crazies, not just 'religious people' - no offense intended) if you had her voice on mute and just looked at her actions and views and such, before the end of the world happened anyway.

She does not see the irony in this. :p. Maybe she'll change now the prophecy has come to pass, who knows. There's room for growth, especially now she's away from the herd.

Coolio, thanks :) I'd not really intended for Jani to be particularly religious, but we'll see how this pans out.
