Figured you guys can just have one of these whether you want it or not :) If nothing else, it gives you somewhere to plot your evil schemes in (relative) peace.

If you have any questions re. game mechanics / the story so far / want to point out something I've screwed up on Obsidian Portal etc. give me a shout in here.

Oh good, somewhere to plan our misadventures!

Is there anything that people think we are missing, or haven't dealt with? I was interested in seeing what was beyond the creature's chamber, but not sure how long the skuts will be about clearing the rock...

It will probably take long enough that we can take the time to explore another teleporter destination and come back afterwards. We don't want to sit around doing nothing for long, now that the Ancient Evil is gaining power over time. I'm not exactly sure whether that's actually a functional thing, like the number of turns we take will influence his strength, but it's not something I want to risk.

Also, we haven't done anything about the... Uh, the word escapes me. The fish with the lure on it. I can't believe I forgot what it's called, that's a basic fish name. Whatever the name is, we haven't done anything about that, and I don't want to, either, judging by the test that was done (Being that a rock was thrown at the chest, a massive cloud of dust hid everything, then it all went back to normal. That thing would probably kill all of us easily).

Anglerfish? If we have any more of the poisoned bait, we could try that on it, or magics, but not something I'd want to stand fin to flipper with.

Honestly, I think we should just keep any meat we might get in the future rather than having angry dragons or try and use it to poison something. We can probably make some stuff we could use as a full action to heal more.

... I'd have to be honest though, I'm not sure if it'd be worth it. Thinks, you may see this as a bit of honest criticism- But if we look way back, I quite literally spent 10 turns just trying to cook something. Admittedly, this was for a large part circumstance, but let's take a look at what would be the ideal way to do it - You'd need to spend X turns getting sticks (or another form of wood), X turn letting it dry (if applicable), a turn lighting it and then a turn to cook. In the amount of turns that takes, if we'd end up with something like "restores 2 HP", it doesn't feel worth it - Especially considering the fact we could have spent all that time just resting and gotten more out of it.

That being said, one thing I have been willing to try for a while is try and use the mushrooms we have in the brewing of potions - I've yet to find any vials to try and use for it though (after someone in our party foolishly destroyed the only one we had...) though I believe Thinks said there was one in the classroom. So I'm going to have to enter the fuzzy apocalypse and try to recover those... Wish me luck.

Another thing that we might be wanting to attempt crafting-wise is the whole forge thing - There was a whole bunch of iron ore and such in there, so if we'd ever want to try and craft something, we should probably try and use that rather than randomly scavenged animal parts. I mean, I would think the whole forced mini side-quest of "craft me a sword" would be a hint from Thinks she hopes we try that. (I mean, by the sound of things, we could use that machine to throw in some crab claws, some iron, and make THE MIGHTY CRABHAMMER).

Speaking about that sidequest - I got two phoenix down from that, and it would probably be useful if someone else but me had one of those - So who'd want it?

Progress-wise... Well, are those side-rooms actually accessible by enemies? It'd might be a safe place for some of us to try and craft while the others explore further, if that's a potential thing we want to do. Besides that, there's four other teleporter destinations I think we need to visit, and then there's the puzzle further down the hall - Though it seems like it might require some form of key(s), so we might want to try the teleporter destinations first. Thinks, could you remind us quickly what they were? :P (Totally not because I'm lazy...)

What about the big circular thing in the background. Is that just decoration, or does it mean anything? Also, what about the star fish and the algae? Are those useful?

For really extended amounts of time, maybe, but we can't sit down and heal for 2hp in the middle of combat, so consumables are somewhat necessary.

I don't remember whether we checked the circular thing, but basically all the plants in this place will attack you if you touch them, and the starfish may be just as bad.

Pretty sure the lights are the same as in the main halls and serve only as decoration / light.

The starfish is probably the strongest enemy in the game.

Also I checked again and I have some ideas for the puzzle down the hall. Regardless, now we know how the trap works it should be rather easy to avoid.

Since you sized it up recently, would you mind posting a link here to direct the rest of us to the appropriate page?

Totally agree. I think I've said before that I thought the "outside-the-mountain" part would only take you about 30 turns to do. But hey ho, this is only the 2nd game I ever made, so you live and learn :) I had no idea that you guys would get so excited about crafting and the system was kind of made up on the fly. Because of that it's probably too "realistic" and could do with being a bit more streamlined (like using loot drops or something). Saying that, the whole idea of this game was to give you guys the freedom to do whatever you want to do, so that's why it ended up being this way around. I think it's probably worked out pretty well for you for the early-game encounters though so far though so there is that!

Puzzle room:

http://www.goblinsforum.com/viewtopic.p ... 875#p78652

(Oh my god I just realized... We never saved the terrapin did we?!)

Also, the teleporter locations are: Hatchery - Altar - Crypt - Skuts - ???? With skuts being the underwater thing we are now. Let's go crypt next, sounds like a fun place.

Also looking back at the crafting machine... I had an idea. The BEST idea. I'm gonna need crafting mats though... Way I've seen, you could either just make a simple iron weapon, or have to provide something for upgrade... Dusk, could I have eaten's morningstar? Considering it seems he's using his magic spear regardless. You can have my spear for it if you want. (How did the whole putting a magic slot on an item go anyway?)

I'm gonna need some more crafting mats to pull this off though beside just that. Hmm, maybe some bones or a skull, some fangs... Dang it, what random crap could I try and use to enchant it...

This idea wouldn't involve attaching Mr. Rock to a mace by any chance would it? If you channel magic into an item while you craft it, there's a chance it'll end up with (a) magic slot(s).

Pterry the Terrapin is currently living in Finds inventory.

...No, that would just be silly wouldn't it? :paranoia:

More like Mr. Rock the Broken, if you were to make it with bones.

What's the point of a mountain lair if it doesn't have a gem mine?

That must be what the question marks are. The secret gem mine.

I'm sure nothing will go wrong if we try to go there.

Sure, you can have the Morningstar, Mort. Mainly because I want to see what silliness you manage to do with it

Thinks apparently knows me too well and already guessed what I'm gonna try and do with it - Gonna try and use the forge to infuse it with other matterials, the core material being Mr. Rock.

But like I said, I should probably get some other materials I could use as well... Judging by how we did Destyns sword, the actual materials don't seem to matter much, but their "power level" likely does... And I'd also want to try and make it mildly fitting.

Staying true to Splits back story of magic and weapons, weapons and magic, he'll want in on this project, to help in any way he can.

That's good, since at least two man is required to operate the forge! :P

Might even need a back up caster, need to pour a lot of magic juice into this thing to fully unleash Mr. Rocks true potential...

In update-related news, I'm going to time-skip you tonight if everyone's in agreement that that is what you want to do (it seems to be at the moment). If there's anything else mundane you want to do besides moving / resting just let me know (e.g. checking inventory items, swapping gear etc. etc.).

Considering how quick time-skips tend to be over, I think I provided enough info (+ getting Eaten's Mace) to keep Burned busy. :)

I'd posted it in thread, but Splits intends to store HP in ring and amulet to restock what was spent to save the other two when the skelly exploded.

Yeah, you can "borrow" the magic arrows, that's what I made them for, after all. I didn't know what to expect, but since as far as I have gathered we can "load" a magic slot with any kind of magic, I figured that would be the most useful approach I could take with Finds.

It will still take me some time to find into this game, I might read up what happened so far eventually. But for now I'd like to know who are those fire guys and why are we fighting them. And/or why did you expect them to be there, did you retreat from the earlier? And if so, why/how did you choose to go to the under water world. Were we supposed to find/do something there? And did we do that?
