Kills is just waiting for the others to catch up, since nobody is injured.

"Except guard the tree up here or maybe move the other tree to form a barricade to prevent escape. I do see your point though. It will be boring or life threatening, & you get all the danger if it's the second. Then again moving the tree would alert the wolves so no back breaking labor for you. They might try to climb the tree if you threw sticks at them. Do you want some if we do this?"Misses will lean against a tree while he speaks.

So the cave isn't on the side of the gully, or it is, but the gully is more of a cul-de-sac than a proper channel. At least misses can attack from the tree tops.

OOC: It is almost a dead end. With a wagon it would be. The gap is leading right towrds the cave of the wolf pack. But on both sides of the cave there are steep earthy slopes one could climb up if he is cautionous enough. I will try to add a picture soon, give me a few minutes.

I say ranged guys start laying down fire on the wolves, and melee stand at the top of the slopes to repel wolves if they are able to make it up the scree.

I agree:

Blindingly will reposition himself to what looks to be the steepest part of the slope and when the others signal that they too are in position, will open fire with magic missile.

You guys are really determined to do really foolish things, aren't you? Fine, I suppose it's in our best interests to make sure you don't get yourselves killed and send a pack of wolves after us.

OOC: Sorry for delay, didn't see that a bunch of posts had been made.

Splinters is not too excited about trying this fight, but he will help defend Blindingly, staying near him with his sword ready to defend and fight if need be. He will look what tree is nearby that looks like it can be climbed easily and will be big enough to get him out of the reach of wolf maws if needed.

Turn 10:

Events:
Both parts of the party discuss if they should attack or not until they are reunited again. They now above the southeastern wall of the wolf pit, watching it from above, hidden by bushes.
Splinters explained what he saw from below, but it is not much different from what they now all see from above. They also learn about the wind blowing from north (top) to south (bottom), as the wolves did not seem to smell Splinters when he was in the canyon.

Events:
As soon as the sword figthers reach the upper end of the slope, the wolfs smells their presence and run up the slopes, except one which remains in the pit. Kills took a position behind Splinters and Defiles with his dagger and healing abilities.
Misses shoots and hits one from his flanking position, and so does Blindingly with his magic missile. The wolf keeps charging with the rest of his pack despite its wounds.
