Maguma will move 2m NE, 4m E, and shoot the remaining grunt with a Flame Burst!

Everyone

Haley shoots Angstrom with a thunderbolt, striking- Though again seeming to mostly go ignored, most of the attack bouncing off his armor.

Maguma moves soon after, focusing on the one remaining grunt - The one attack dealing hefty damage!

On the other side of the arena, Cygnus fires upon the newly released rhydon, injuring it some!

The one badly injured grunt meanwhile, seems like he's not gonna go down without a fight..! Though, stupidly, tries attacking the crystal rather than anything else. It smacks him upside the head for the trouble. It's a job that Magnus ends up finishing- Picking up a rock and flinging it at the man as he's knocked unconscious!

YOU KNOW. TALKING ABOUT DADDY ISSUES. YOU ARE PROBABLY THE WORST ONE.

DO YOU REMEMBER? SHOUTING TO THE HEAVENS?

"OH FATHER! PLEASE! COME BACK! EVERYTHING IS GOING WRONG. HUMANS. POKEMON. US. I- WE NEED YOUR HELP."

"PLEASE. I AM NOT STRONG ENOUGH. I CAN'T FIX THIS MYSELF."

"PLEASE."

"PLEASE."

...

BUT NOBODY CAME.

YOU ALREADY KNOW WHY, DON'T YOU. HAA HAA HAA.

Magnus' face falls somber. But while it is obvious something might be affecting him, he refuses to allow it to show in any way that matters.

Matthias meanwhile seems stuck for a moment, torn between decisions... And while his eyes still seem to go toward the portal, once again they find themselves dragged away to Angstrom, and how he was starting to look weak. And so... He charges! Whipping a dagger out of his coat, looking to plunge at the big man..!

...And missing.

"...At least you're not as big a coward as I thought you were."

Okay, so... What... Alright. Last turn Alex used Aura Sphere, so I can't use that again. Confusion (I forgot about that, I'll make the rolls for the attack last turn to start this one), and Infatuation toward the Houndoom... Which houndoom is the enemy one? There are two on the map, right next to each other.

Previous Confusion chance; save: 1D2 = [2] = 2
1D20 = [20] = 20

No damage from the confusion, recovered from it last turn (Unless I'm mistaken about save checks being 1d20.)

This turn, Alex is going to... Okay, if the houndoom next to him isn't the hostile one, he'll move 3NW, 1N and release Slippy 3NW (So it should be 2SW of Angstrom). Otherwise, he'll send it out 2NW, 3N.

Infatuation Save: 1D20 = [4] = 4

After the last grunt falls, Koa takes a quick glance around this side of the battlefield. Seeing that there's no threats left over here he takes a second to catch his breath.

"So... what do we do about that?" Koa looks to Magnus, gesturing vaguely towards the huge spacial distortion weighing down on everyone, trying not to look directly at it. "I can throw rocks at it, but I dunno if that'll help much, yeah?"

Alex moves, releasing Slippy nearby. Matthias' umbreon noticing his master might be in danger- And rushing in with a feint attack from behind! The attack dealing some damage... STILL standing. Koa meanwhile moving, addressing the old man beside him.

"So... what do we do about that? I can throw rocks at it, but I dunno if that'll help much, yeah?"

Magnus took a brief glance, seemingly not quite as afraid of looking at it as Koa seemed to be, before responding.

"What we'll do? We clean up this mess. And then, nothing."

"It's not stable. Give it five minutes and it'll close of its own accord."

"...Though I'll admit not wanting to spend five minutes close to it."

"...What is it, though? Why were these guys trying so hard to open it if it's just gonna close again?"

Koa recalls the weary Rawku, then cautiously moves towards the anomaly 1m E, 4m SE, positioning himself between Maguma and Rythem to protect them if need be.

"...What is it, though? Why were these guys trying so hard to open it if it's just gonna close again?"

"Dunno. To destroy the temple? Failed if that was the plan. Solve issues now, ask questions later."

Bruce meanwhile simply commands his pokemon, Scraps getting ready to follow commands...

Angstrom meanwhile, considers the "traitor"... And even if it seems like he realizes he might lose soon, he's not planning to go out without a bit of revenge- A strike at the man nearly knocking him out!

"Matthias..!" Gayle calls out.

COME ON ANGSTROM.

YOU ARE RUNNING OUT OF TIME.

Gayle moves closer- Seemingly finding herself forced to try and do... Something..!

WHAT IS THIS PLAN OF YOURS. DO YOU EVEN HAVE ONE? ARE YOU PREPARED TO SEE IT FAIL?

Fin sprints as fast as he can toward the other side, staying far from the portal himself.

The Rhydon that was recently released meanwhile, rips out a HUGE chunk of stone to fling toward Nate..! But luckily, misses.

Slippy uses Incinerate on Angstrom (So, straight line NE, shouldn't hit any other targets).

Incinerate: 1D20+1 = [18]+1 = 19
2D8+10+19 = [2, 2]+10+19 = 33

If Angstrom still has any Main Hand or Offhand items, he has to drop them all or take a tick of damage.

Slippy incinerates Angstrom, the man forced to drop his shield and weapon as it happens- Cursing silently. Loudly too, but mostly silently.

Scraps focuses the Houndoom in the meantime, striking with a poison tail- And knocking it out!

Grimm moves just close enough to strike with a dark pulse, weakening it further.

Nate tries to ignore the Rhydon, sending another blast of Ominous Wind at Angstrom. But the near miss with the rock spooked him, and he whiffs the attack badly.

Ominous Wind (AC: 2, Damage: 37)

Izzy is a little luckier though, her own blast of wind striking true.

Nate tries to strike Angstrom to hopefully finish this, but in his haste and minor panic, misses. Archie is not long after, firing a rock slide from behind him- Without his shield, and with his back turned, it hits him on the backside of his head, as finally he stumbles... And collapses.

"F-Fucking taken down by... A bunch of traitors and kids..." are final words he mutters, before collapsing.

Koa peers around the spatial rend, seeing that the others have taken down the gang leader. So that's step one of Grimm's plan over with? Though Koa has to wonder if he took this... thing into account.

Magnus said it should dissipate within a few minutes, like he's encountered something like this before, but at the same time he doesn't know what it is? Koa wonders about that.

In the meantime, it's still putting out these awful vibes. Koa glances in its direction and wonders if he can mitigate its effects, maybe, with some positive, Fairy-typed energy? He edges closer, cautiously, motioning Maguma to back him up. With the slightly-glowing Crystal Resolution in hand, Koa stomps some debris and flooring up, launching a shimmering, Fairy-typed Rock Slide into the heart of the anomaly!

Fairy-typed Rock Slide centered on the Anomaly (AC 4): 1d20 = [19] = 19
2d8+10+16 = [6, 2] = 34

(Flinch?)

Magumas prepare to intercept in case there's some sort-of blow-back from this, and Koa prepares a Wide Guard for Maguma and himself, like he did for Kano all that time ago. Now to see what happens....

Focus roll after Rock Sliding the Anomaly: 3d6+4 = [5, 4, 3] = 16

Now that combat seems to be over, Bruce recalls Aggy, leaving Scraps out, just in case. He finally has a chance to check out the portal that was open when he came into the room. He flinches when the rocks fly into the portal, but after a count of 5 or so, if it doesn't explode, he walks closer to it, trying to figure it out, and see if he can understand anything about what it does.

(Tell me what skill to roll to check it out. I didn't want to assume it would be Tech Edu)

Alex, Koa, Bruce

Koa and Bruce both carefully approach the portal, each with different methods. Koa's far more active, as he readies his pokemon in case there should somehow be a counterattack- Firing rocks into the void. Watching, it seems like they are traveling like forever in the space beyond, before eventually growing so distant to no longer be recognized. But while Magnus briefly gives him an odd look, it seems nothing happens.

"Don't think about jumping in. You'll never get out."

HEY. THAT'S CLASSIFIED AS AN ATTACK, RIGHT? SO I CAN STRIKE BACK.

No, you can't. And you've already been skirting the rules of "attacking" yourself.

WHY I AM JUST MAKING CONVERSATION. HAA HAA HAA.

Satisfied the portal is not exploding, or unleashing eldritch monstrosities, or sucking everyone in, Bruce more cautiously approaches- Trying to look at the portal from a more technical perspective. Obviously, this was no technology at work, but some kind of magic. But even magical feats can sometimes have bases of science behind it, no? Even if what he was currently seeing broke his current comprehension. But still, he can deduce. Seems like, somehow, there is a tear to another dimension. Concaved, the vision distorted through a "pinhole" in the midst- Or it would seem distorted, if it wasn't completely black. Was it only because no light was travelling through from the other side, or is the other side in truth complete pitch black?

Alex meanwhile, does something far more simple- Asking a question.

"Okay, he's dealt with... What now?"

"Now we talk properly, with no distractions. Speaking of which, let's move somewhere more... Comfortable." Grimm speaks, though the mystery woman Gaile speaks up, shaking her head.

"No- We've not sacrificed so much to stop right before the end. We got to finish it! Matthias!"

"W-Working on it!" the man shouts back, still seeming to struggle as something seems to nagging at him in the back of his head. Still, he is most definitely taking strides forward toward the portal, now.

"...I was under the impression your Grand Overseer did that to try and hurt The Spark. Which is... An entirely different subject in this entire mess we need to discuss. What is going on?" Grimm spoke, seeming to briefly ogle the fool heading toward the portal; almost as if considering whether he should be stopped.

"Yes, Grimm, all of this- Even YOU helping make this ritual. It was its plan. SO long in the making... But there's a reason! Don't you feel it? That presence? Lurking behind the other side of that portal?" the woman spoke, seeming to grip the sides of her head as if fighting off a headache.

"And it knows now that it was ITS plan, and it's scared- We can't let it get away, or we might not get this chance again!"

I AM NOT AFRAID.

"If the Overseer planned this, then it's not afraid. I've seen that demon in action, and the only things that can even sting it are... Essentially the cores of this world's power. I doubt you've got one of those, but even if you do, the only way for that to reach it through there is to throw it through the portal, and if you do that it could very well separate said core from the world. So go sit down and explain, before you people just keep following its plans."

Haley, Alex

”What the feck you guys talking about? Shouldn’t ya tell us since it probavlygoin’ ta affect all o us?”

"I'm trying to, but there's no time! We have minutes at most until that gate closes, and we'll never get this chance again."

”If you are possessed by that thing I will stop you from doing anything”

"No, I'm not possessed! Maybe... Maybe forced, but, this is still for the greater good." the woman speaks up loudly, before speaking in far more of a whisper. Her glancing at Matthias making it evident she did not want him to hear.

"I know that the Grand Overseer is far from good. Trust me, I know. But, at least this time, it's a good thing. Just. Please trust me."

"You have not done a terrible lot of things to warrant trust."

"...What are you even talking about? Are you suggesting the Overseer would try to hurt himself? It's not THAT which we are trying to hurt."

"The sky burns, to light a path in the darkest of places." she mutters, softly, again gripping her head as if saying all these things, or perhaps rather remembering them, hurts.

"We're going to throw in a beacon provided by the Overseer. A torch. Which it will use to track it down."

"Track it down...? Track what down?" Koa asks, as he rounds the anomaly, heading towards the other group. He glances over his shoulder at the black void. He knew the Overseer was searching for the remnants of the Red Chain, but those were here in this world, not wherever that void-hole-thing leads. So what else was the Overseer after? The only thing Koa knows about are...?

"...Those Missingno. things? Is it looking for one of those? The Overseer got 'em all, didn't it? Except the... ones it can't...?"

"...!!"

Koa's eyes start to widen at that thought. He knew the Overseer couldn't touch the Spark, and the Spark's here in this world anyway, not in that void-thing. He knew about the Sleeper, but the Overseer either can't or isn't bothering to touch that one. So that leaves...?

"The one from Babylon?!" Koa suddenly realizes, staring in wide-eyed recognition at Gayle. "The one that calls itself the Spark, but isn't our Spark. That one?!"

Koa whips back around to stare at the void-thing and Matthias approaching it. "Should... should we let him go, then? Is... this good?"

Koa tries to get a read on Gayle as he puts these pieces together, trying to determine whether anything he's saying seems to land.
Intuition on Gayle: 5d6+4 = [6, 6, 6, 2, 2] = 26

"I don't trust it. What I know is that the Overseer destroys worlds, and I don't agree with doing anything that sort of demon wants. Even if there is some other spark you're talking about, I wouldn't rely on the Overseer for getting rid of it. Even less so than I trust our Spark on anything."

”Okay since you decided not to tell us and you claim to be forced... I don’t have mich choice but stop you two.” Haley walks up to Matthias and uses sleep powder on him.

Koa, Alex, Haley

Koa, hearing conversation, quickly rushes over.

"Track it down...? Track what down?"

"...Those Missingno. things? Is it looking for one of those? The Overseer got 'em all, didn't it? Except the... ones it can't...?"

"...!!"

"The one from Babylon?! The one that calls itself the Spark, but isn't our Spark. That one?!"

Gayle appears to blink in confusion to Koa's apparent realization. Still, he can tell she's thinking. Clearly, she seems to recognize it's a similar thing the two are talking about, though Babylon and a different "Spark" don't seem to say her much.

"I... Don't know if we are talking about the exact same one. But, perhaps? It feels like at least we are talking about something similar. But I can tell you this- Whatever it is, it is terrible news."

As Gayle reacts, Koa tries to get a read on her. And he's quite certain he's got a decent read, able to tell that she does seem genuine about everything she's saying... If also desperate for herself to be listened to.

"Should... should we let him go, then? Is... this good?"

"Yes," Magnus calmly responds. "The Grand Overseer had done in a matter of minutes what we could not do in our entire lifespans. If it intends to take out another one of those wretched creatures, let it."

"I don't trust it. What I know is that the Overseer destroys worlds, and I don't agree with doing anything that sort of demon wants. Even if there is some other spark you're talking about, I wouldn't rely on the Overseer for getting rid of it. Even less so than I trust our Spark on anything."

"Not quite a complete statement. The Overseer tries to save worlds, not destroy them."

"But in the process, it destroys most of them- The odds are one in a million! One cannot simply go along plans that might further it's goals!"
"Well, sometimes I do like to think I can be optimistic."

"You two- Stop it! None of that even matters right now! Final motives being horrendous be damned, it is not what needs worrying about right now!" Gayle yells out, a bit too loud as she worriedly looks at Matthias for just a moment. Luckily for them, it seems he has completely tuned out conversation, looking at the portal with an almost manic grin. As if his entire life has built up to this moment. Fishing what seems to be a golden-colored z-crystal out of his pocket, arms trembling as he was gathering the focused willpower needed to ignore the voices trying to scream in the back of his head.

"This thing, on the other side, it- Wait, no!" Gayle started, before noticing Haley had turned around to stop Matthias, grabbing a bunch of sleeping spores.

”Okay since you decided not to tell us and you claim to be forced... I don’t have mich choice but stop you two.”

"What are you even talking about? I am literally explaining all I can! NO!" she yells, as Haley interrupts the first motions of Matthias dance by putting him to sleep. Only to, just a moment too late, get tackled to the floor by the woman in question- As she quite literally jumps face first against the girl.

(We might be back on combat initiative depending on what happens next.)

"Somehow, I'm in agreement with Grimm. Considering the results, I very much doubt there's reason to trust the Overseer. So explain quickly, miss, why we should be okay with your plan."
