The Earl was about ready to throttle Jones who seemed to be getting quite above his station in all of this.
He walks to the far wall and prepars to run and jump across the gap.

Woodward moves closer to the others to have a quiet word with them.

"Men, there's another beast on the loose, which I am assuming to be entirely more dangerous to people at the moment than these aliens are. We need to take it down by whatever means possible before someone gets hurt - hell, we can even work with these guys to get the job done - and then worry about what to with the aliens once that's sorted. We know very little about this beast at the moment, and certainly a lot less than the aliens do. I'd say our best bet is out that damaged door straight ahead."

Turn 4

Image

Leke prepares to leap the gap over the stream and Woodward converses with the rest of the team about their next course of action.

Danielson attempts to calm Jones, and the situation, down, but the soldier is now spoiling for a fight as much as North, who snarls and readies the metal whip at his side:

"Oh to hell with this Kellan, we're only going to kill them later. You said yourself, we can't afford loose ends on this, not with the federation after us."

Kellan sighs, nods, and presses the button on his armor again, disappearing in a flash of blue light. The sound of running footsteps comes from the broken open door on the other side of the room.

North flicks the tip of the whip out at Jones, the length of it crackling with electricity. Fortunately, it flicks straight past his ear, turning a chunk of brick the size of an apple to dust behind him.

Aiming at the orange things chest, Jones steadies his aim and fires his rifle as many times as he can before ducking back behind the large stone column.

This is where my lack of agility is going to mess me up.

Also: Now we've got a fight with an unknown number of enemies, no way to track the other creature, and... *sigh* Deal with the situation as it is.

I'm going to dodge around the line of fire, avoid the beast as best I can, and engage North hand to hand.

"Hit him with some damn water man...he can't use the whip if its covered in water..." Leke calls out before:

Leke makes a running jump across the stream and then opens fire on the armed alien with his weapon. Unless the Reverend is in the way, then Leke will see about getting a hat full of water and throwing it on the bugger with his whip.

Turn 5

Image

The situation devolves into anarchic combat as North presses his attack, extending his telescopic baton and crashing it down on Danielson, only to be blocked with a swift upswing of his staff. Where the weapons crash together, North's baton leaves a smoking scar.

Leke, Woodward and Jones all fire upon the alien, one bullet of which hits North in the leg, and another lodges in his armor above the shoulder.

I will karate him! Doing my best to keep clear of the baton, of course. (What happened to the displacer beast thingy?)

Leke will run up and point his weapon point blank range at the head of the alien. "Drop your weapon or prepare to be dispatched..." He says with only a cold chill in his voice.

If the alien does not drop his weapon, Leke will fire into the alien's head.

Jones runs up and past the fighting taking place in the direction of the sounds that the other alien had made while escaping. As he moves near the battered doors he pauses and listens for any sounds from the other orange guy.(trying to tune out the battle that is happening).

Woodward will keep his gun trained on the alien, and if Leke's intimidation doesn't work then he will fire another shot at the alien's head provided he has clear line of sight and no-one else is at risk.

If there is a melee and he can't get a shot off, Woodward will attempt to skirt past the melee and beast, and offer backup to Jones, while keeping his gun pointed at the occupied alien's back.

If he can't squeeze past the melee / beast, he will wait for a clear shot on the alien.

Turn 6

Image

The team mobilizes to surround the alien, as Danielson engages him again in hand to hand combat, landing a scything blow to his shoulder. North roars in pain and anger and, before anyone can stop him, hammers on his breastplate twice, disappearing into a similar vortex to Kellan.

Jones runs to the other side of the room to examine the stairs where the fleeing footsteps came from. The stairs open out a short way up into a starlit alley, and immediately in front, an entrance marked Stage Door, which is ajar.

The beast still lies in the center of the floor, now making a mournful, ragged sound.

Woodward walks closer to the beast and crouches, examining it.

"What do we do with this thing? Maybe we finish it off. We have no idea if it poses a threat or not, no idea how to treat it if its injured, we can't spare the personnel to guard it and we certainly don't want it to escape or be released. Shall I give it a lead injection?"

He clicks the bolt handle, making sure there is a cartridge in the chamber.

"It hasn't attacked us. And they were clearly mistreating it. I'm going to take a closer look at it, try to touch it, see if it's wounded, see how it responds to my approach. I'll be ready to jump back, of course, but it's had plenty of opportunity to take a swipe at me already."

"I did precede that this animal was angry and upset. Perhaps it is a bit more intelligent than our would be killers would like us to think," the earl adds. He then looks into the creatures eyes before speaking. 'Do you understand me? Or do know I'm making sound but have no idea about how to interpet English.'

Turning around toward the fighting quick enough to see the other orange alien disappear in a flash of light, Jones quickly closes the doors and then begins to wait, carefully listening to his surroundings in an attempt to find the other being. (He was sure that he had heard footsteps when the other being had disappeared, seemingly into thin air. While it didn't make sense how they had just vanished, the sound of footsteps that he had heard made him think that the same was going to happen again.) "Hey, keep your ear's perked laddies, I think we can catch him"

(Perception - If Jones is able to hear footsteps again, he will tackle the place where the sound is coming from)

Turn 7

Image

Jones slams the doors in order to trap the alien in the room with them. However, when he listens intently for any movement, he hears movement from the other side of the door.

The rest of the team gather round the strange creature. Danielson sees that its paws are bound with cruelly sharp wire, and advises Woodward against executing the creature, as Leke leans down and looks into the its eyes. As he does so, the bony green antlers on its head begin to glow with a strange light, directed towards Leke. He stands bolt upright and begins to speak, not of his own accord, with words that aren't his own.

"This creature came here through the 'stone portal' with its mate. It has seen many of its kin hunted, killed and eaten. This one is injured, but the other is yet unharmed. It fears it cannot outrun its enemies, as they can run at great speed in the sky."

With this, the light fades, and the creature lapses deep into unconsciousness, while Leke, feeling only slightly nauseous, is returned to his normal self, albeit confused as to what just happened.

The Earl will look at the damn creature..."Alright...that's the last time you do that foolishness. We need to send someone to run back to that Holmes fellow to get some porters for this fellow and escort him back to safety."
