Ian peers around the ogre, "Help or hinder what? Is something important going on here? You see, we can't really say if we will help you or hinder you unless we know what task you are working on. For all we know, you could be working on destroying the world, or developing a new method of travel."

Allune raises an eyebrow at Tenel but says nothing. "We maybe able to aid, what are the problems made?"

(I've nothing to add; my questions have been asked. Also, going to be on the road today and tomorrow, so may not be able to check in much until tomorrow night.)

Thunderhoof successfully stops himself from speaking his thoughts "Actually, if it's all the same to you, we're only passing through.", reserves judgment for now and listens to what the tired person has to say. Maybe Tenel has lead them this way, through this village for a reason...

"Our people are having all of our right bear arms taken away! We need those to put on our yearly festival. Please could you kind folk help us?"

"Did... I hear that right? Your right bear arms? What sort of festival would you need those for?"

"Who is taking them away? And where did you get them in the first place?

I don't know how much we can do about it anyway. We're just passing through. We've got urgent business of our own."

[Arch Lich Burns]

"I highly doubt it if we can find a bear soon."

Tenel only breathes a very heavy and annoyed sigh. Everythings a joke around here.

Jas sniffs, "I've heard of the right to arm bears...but not the right to bear arms...I think the bears would be a little put out by loosing their arms..."

"No, no, Jas. He didn't say their right to bear arms. He said their right bear arms. As in not the left bear arms, just the right." Duncan holds up his left and right arms at the appropriate time to emphasise his meaning.

"I understand if you want to be on your way, but this festival is the only thing that brings people from around Xanth here and they bring our yearly supplies. Our people are very poor and we'll all have to leave otherwise." the man says solemnly. "A group of Baboons came through, I think they are called a congress, and took all of our arms, if you could just track them down we would be very thankful."

[Dlover]

"Baboons? Why would they steal your bear arms? ... Tenel, if you want to deal with this quickly, just tell them which way to go to get the stolen arms back, and we'll be on our way."

[Arch Lich Burns]

"Find out if it is a good idea first"

Thuderhoof scratches his head at this conundrum. "Couldn't you use the left bear arms instead for your festival? It's not like most people can tell the difference, anyways. Also, did you do anything to those baboons, first, provoking them to take your bear arms away? And why only the right ones, in the first place?"

[Quarg]

Jas sniffs, "I still want to know why they think they have a right to the right bear arms...I mean as far as we know this congress of baboons is just returning the bear arms to their rightful owner"

" Very hard for me to point them in the right direction. I could take a single step in the right direction but my routes are the most direct and fastest, which sometimes doesn't mean just one direction. They could follow my one step until they hit the ocean. As to if it's a good idea, it wouldn't help. My talent relies on my own thoughts and I think this is a very bad idea to waste time....Unless. Hey if we help you can you reward us with something that will help on our travels? Perhaps a item of some power?"

[Synch]

Synge turns to the others.

"Us are best, should fight pest!"

[Dlover]

"I would normally agree, Synge, but we have a job to do somewhere else. And we don't have a lot of time for detours."

[Synch]

Synge resignedly sighs.

"Ok leave pest, but know not quest."

Synge was just happy to tag along with company that wasn't a giant cactus, so I'm presuming he isn't aware of the background with Humfrey and the King. But if the others have filled him in along the way, then just disregard this.

[Arch Lich Burns]

"The king is ill, from a spell. Must seek caster, or disaster. On our request, join in quest?"

[Synch]

The ogre mumbles as he repeats the rhyme, you can almost hear him processing the information and logging it away.

"Yes join quest, thanks for rest."

"Like I said our people are very poor, we don't have much but we can offer you a place to rest and some supplies."

" mmmmm..........Put it to a vote. We stay here and help these people or we continue our quest...I vote we stay simply because I hate to see people facing starvation.
