Feeling a lot more confident with Irene backing her up, Izzy nods to Rhythm. And immediately the dragonfly darts forwards. Swooping close to the ground, she rips up a cluster of rocks with her claws and tosses them at the largest group of birds within range!

Rock Slide (AC: 17, Damage: 41) [Flinch]

Meanwhile, Izzy directs Kay to position them in the air about 15m from the edge of the battle, ready to swoop in when the time is right...

The flying rocks doing a lot of damage Polaris doesn't help out much instead shows his support by dashing around in a circle.

Sprint ability +2 speed combat stages... so he now out speeds vikavolt

Don't hit the Misdreavus! That's one of the ones Drake wanted!

Meanwhile, Bruce and Shadow team up against the other Duskull with a Night Shade and a Terrorize.

Shadow AC=12
Damage=33
Bruce AC=15

Haley

Haley stirs in her sleep, unaware of the world outside... Those dreams filled with darkness and twisting, strange halls... In a sort of haze where she is only barely aware of her actions, she finds herself wandering these halls, and their impossible geometry- At times walking across the ceiling, through thin air, through the walls, in a very unsettling display as she finds herself marching towards... Something. An echo, within these halls. How long has she been here? Days..? Weeks..? Whatever entices her in the middle of this maze, no step she seems to take bring her closer... Until suddenly, a voice snaps her out of this stupor.

"Time to wake up, kid."

And with that, a gasp, she starts awake- Finding herself harmlessly asleep on the floor, apparently having been put to sleep..! On closer inspection, she seems unharmed, and the... Thing, is gone. Her pockets, however, seem lighter...

Mankey idol was stolen!

Koa, Alex

With the greninja slowed, Kinhe and Koa take the chance to team up against it..! Kinhe flings a rock against it, weakening it substantially... While Koa, at first, considers throwing his ball, but decides to hold out just one more moment, calling on Alex's help. He complies, sending out Dusk to try and grapple.

That does give the Greninja a chance to act, though- And it decides to send out a bunch of water stars to cut through the net! It's clearly at least a bit panicked, though, the attack not as successful as it should be as it deals only 32 damage... But it does manage to shake off Dusks' attempts to grapple it!

It is, however, succumbed the it's paralysis, which is enough for Koa to risk the throw... It barely hitting, as the ball wobbles for a while... But the greninja still manages to break free! So close, too..!

Izzy, Irene

The two trainers consider for a moment, as Izzy eventually, by no means motivated by the idea of capturing a big flying electric bug, decides she wants to help them... And has Irene there to help her out!

Of course, charging immediately into battle isn't an option, as they had been keeping their distance for now- Leaving them only to watch the play work out for a moment... Those birds contacting with the ground, and... Eventually coming back up! Some of them carrying the spoils of war, while others missed their mark, circling around to strike down again... Grubbins and Charjabugs! The bugs, while part electric, at least for a part seem to not have any capability to actually use them... Except for the charjabug, which makes the one grappling it regret it..! Most others, though only give relatively weak bites, the birds mostly unbothered as they're being carried off in the air...

Three Staravia meanwhile keep themselves occupied with the Vikavolt, injuring it somewhat... In response, it takes out the one that had attacked it previously, before it's efforts would refocus.

The scyther meanwhile, has already managed to simply KO one of the Grubbin- And is looking to make an escape with it's bounty...

With that, though, the trainers are finally close enough to start intervening..! Irene already having put up a barrier, though it means she's lagging slightly behind the others.

Bjorn

Bjorn starts searching around more, eventually realizing that the vent was pointing down... Meaning that, it was completely possible you were supposed to reach that room from the main maze, rather than somewhere through the vents. It still takes him a good ten minutes or so, but eventually he notices a rather short, strange looking dead end, that he decides to check out just a bit closer... And pushing down it's end, finally finds that secret room, grabbing the idol within!

OBTAINED THE MURKROW IDOL

Not a moment later, though, he can hear the light sound of... Wailing, nearby...

Bruce, Drake

Shadow hits the duskull with a night shade, doing some decent damage against it's relatively small health pool... Ghos following up with a shadowball that easily knocks it out! He follows it up with a pokeball against the mismagius, which... INSTANTLY snaps shut!

Isabella meanwhile, figures that no one is interested in the dusclops... Having it knocked out by Max as the battle is won!

Everyone gains 114 exp to distribute among their pokemon!
Drake has caught a level 23 naughty male mismagius with levitate and magician!

Dang, Koa thought for sure a single attack would be enough. This Greninja's tougher than it looks!

No matter! Koa orders Kinhe to attack again, this time with a lighter touch, and Kinhe obliges with a Clear Smog. The invisible poison flows into the net, choking the poor frog ninja!
Clear Smog on Greninja (autohit): 1d20 = [5] = 5
2d6+10+26 = [6, 5] = 47

That ought to do it, Koa thinks as he prepares another pokeball. This time he throws accurately, but will the pokeball be good enough to make the capture?
Basic Ball on Greninja again: 1d20+1 = [19] = 20
1d100-13-20 = [82] = 49

Seeing that the battle is won, and without Shadow taking a scratch, Brice runs up to him, giving him a high five, which of course passes right through the ghosts hand. He then turns and looks slightly sheepishly at the rest of the group.

Should we continue? I'm hoping to fund a zubat or a a drapion.

Seeing the scyther go away Irene Dashes after it calling out Cygnus as close as she can "Quick Cygnus, rescue that chubby grubbin!" Cygnus didn't bother waiting as He quickly sent some ancient rocks at the scyther.

Polaris, Cygnus, be careful now!

Irene - Inspired training both Cygnus and Polaris and +2 evasion
Cygnus ancient power [1d20] = 6 strength [2d8+21] = 10+21 = 31

Irene, can jump with determination to fly!
Also Irene's iniative is 23, speed 19 and dynasism gives it a +4

Haley

Haley gets up, pissed beyond belief, calling out to whoever woke her up, but... There's no one around. Was that voice inside the dream..?

Koa, Alex

Kinhe hits with a clear smog, further weakening the Greninja... As it does not seem to appreciate the continued assault, shooting a water pulse at it's assailant for 40(30) damage! At least it's wounds are heavily mounting, which should make things a lot easier... As Koa throws a new pokeball- This time around, it snapping shut!

Koa has captured a lvl 30 impish greninja, with torrent and hydration!
Both trainers get to share 30 exp among their pokemon.

Bjorn

Bjorn manages to avoid the wailing quite well, by keeping perceptive of where it is... And being extra cautious when it turns silent, seeming to be able to move faster around the maze than should be possible... Still, he eventually makes it back to the door, which he once again locks behind him- The exit, or that pedestal, should now be a clear game...

Drake, Bruce

Should we continue? I'm hoping to fund a zubat or a a drapion.

"Sounds good to me."

"Of course. We barely even started, so why not, right?"

With that, the trainers presumably continue in the direction the ghosts had earlier taken up, assuming they don't want to risk going past a herd of slugma to figure out what's in that direction instead. The cave meanwhile continues to be a rather narrow, but luckily still comfortable to pass, passage... Eventually, the cave seeming to split, going in two directions- One route leading further down, while another seems to be mostly staying on the same level they already are, at least for what they can see... However, there is just the slighest wave of fresh air in that direction. The reason Bruce might not have found a zubat yet is because while they might be common, they DO need a way to go out in the night to hunt...

In the little split hallway, though, Drake notices a couple "shards" in the wall... Before he can get too excited though, he realizes they're not really shards, but instead a bunch of well-hidden Carbink- They must have burrowed while hearing the party approach...

Izzy, Irene

The trainers jump into action, wanting to be the heroes of the day..! Irene inspiring her pokemon, releasing Cygnus close to the Scyther... Who for it's part, does not seem interested in fighting anything else for the day- Sprinting away!

Izzy meanwhile, aims her blaster at one of the Staravia... The attack hitting hard, but not quite enough to KO it... The attack does flinch it, causing it to drop it's quarry- Which takes a tumble downwards but from the current height, should be alright.

Rhythm meanwhile, has a bit more success... Managing to badly injure two of the birds by pelting them with rocks! Those birds that were just hit seeming to recognize a losing battle when they see it, turning skyward and beginning to abscond from battle... Only the one that Izzy attacked seeming a bit more bold, diving close to hit her with a wing attack for 32(28) damage!

The other staravia meanwhile, keep rising up with their loot- Starting to get to quite a height... Only the apparent leader remains, who continues bravely tussling with the Vikavolt, doing some damage.

Cygnus meanwhile, begins chasing after the Scyther- However, with it sprinting that far, it has to sprint itself just to try and keep up, not being able to attack..!

The Vikavolt meanwhile, blasts the leader with lightning again- Or at least, tries to, as the attack goes wide..!

Finally, the grubbins and charjabugs still trapped in grip of the birds continue to struggle, but none of them really successful enough to have any real effect... The only one who seems to have a real chance to break free being the Charjabug, who not only doesn't have his electric available right away, but also misses it's bite..!

Bruce can't help but smile at the idea of releasing Scraps and letting him take out all of the slugma, probably single-handedly. But he knew that that would most likely be a waste of time, so he doesn't stop to consider it too much.

When they get to the fork, Bruce senses the fresh air coming from the cave. I vote we go towards airflow. You never know what we might find on the other side, and we can swing down to a lower level real quick after if we don't find anything good.

Seeing Cygnus run off after the Scyther Irene flinched... Unlike her other pokemon Cygnus was sheltered, and his curiousty always had him dashing. Since the Starvia were still around Irene ignores the sinking feeling in her stomach as she calls out. "Just be careful! I'll follow up as quick as I can!"

Knowing the time left to act was limited this round Irene calls back
"Polaris, give Rhythm a helping hand with those rocks!"

Rockslide turned into a ac of 19 and damage of 51

Next round
Looking at the birds in the sky Irene reaches for Shock's ball... before recalling she just put him into the pc box. She's doing very poorly this battle... Closing her eyes she releases Etoile.
All right Etoile, we're here to rescue the bugs from the birds. Etoile pauses for a moment before excitedly flying straight into combat! Just like how she helped defend her swarm, she'll now protect this one! Releasing a series of punches into one of the birds carrying prey. Irene does her best to catch any bug that is sent falling to the ground.

etoile comet punch [1d20] = 13 punch counter [1d8] = 6

etoile damage [2d6+31] = 7+31 = 38

Feeling a flush of pride and accomplishment at the capture and validation for his preparedness, Koa shares the successful feeling with Kinhe via touch as well as telling her to clean up her toxic spikes.

He proceeds to retrieve his catch and his damaged net. He'd have to look into mending that later, but he still has a fresh backup net just in case.

"Well, that was fairly quick. Anything else of interest out here, you think?"

"Oh I dunno. Ya looking for anything in particular? There were those Carvanha things back at the bridge that were Dark-type?"

Koa takes a closer look at the readouts on his newly-filled pokeball. "Hmm... you're good at teaching pokemon stuff, right, like how ya helped me with Loto back at the tournament? Ya think you could take a look at this Greninja when we get back to town? I don't think it's got the right mindset for what I want him to do."

Pokeball Throw
AC: [1d20] = 19
Capture Rate: [1d100-11] = 56-11 = 45

Whether or not it hits successfully, Kay and Izzy then take off after the bug-carrying Staravia. Swooping up at one, Kay tries to grapple the Grubbin out of its clutches.

Haley

Haley continues along in the maze- presumably wanting to move through the passageway she has opened before, where she continues to explore and... Pretty much seems to find herself beelining to another door. This one already opened however, with the capability to be closed behind her- Likely to keep that creature locked out so it can't follow.

...The creature, which she hears the whimpering off, not too far away...

Koa, Alex

Koa and Alex discuss what to do next, though make no concrete plans- Besides Alex' promise that he'll look into tutoring the new catch some time, and help improve it's abilities.

Bruce, Drake

I vote we go towards airflow. You never know what we might find on the other side, and we can swing down to a lower level real quick after if we don't find anything good.

"Sure, just a moment though."

After Drake confirms none of the carbink appear to be shiny, and Jeremy and Isabella both seem just fine heading in the direction of fresh air, it doesn't take long for the party to continue... The passage eventually opening up into a wider cavern again, and while it's still pretty dark here, there's a glimmer of light from further on ahead, as well as... What IS that sound? It almost sounds like two rocks are being hit against each other in a repetitive motion further on ahead, though you can't actually see the source from your current position... All that's visible here in the still rather noticeable darkness, is a swarm of zubat, as the source of light is further on ahead, curved out of sight.

(Roll perception regardless of what else you're doing.)

Irene, Izzy

The increased damage is not enough to knock out the two pokemon that were hit with a rock slide, but it definitely only inspires them to keep running..!

Irene releases Etoile, releasing it as high as she can in the air, and then having her fly the rest... As she's barely able to reach the pokemon in flight, giving it a nasty punch! It pauses in flight, deliberating what to do...

Not much later, Izzy throws at one of the heavily injured Staravia a pokeball... And seems to capture it! Right after, Kay goes to grapple with one of the grubbins being held, and manages to wrest control over it from the other bird, much to it's annoyance.

The scyther meanwhile, keeps running- It doesn't seem interested in sticking around for battle with it already having a catch...

of the remaining Staravia, it now appears they're about ready to cut losses, all beginning to fly off with what little bounty they still have, the leader reluctantly following... The vikavolt doesn't care much for it, of course- Tackling into the leader with an electric tackle from behind, it's quite effective..!

Etoile gets an AOO on the bird carrying the grubbin, and Izzy/Kay get an AOO on the bird they stole the grubbin from.

The grubbins and charjabug then act up again, the one grubbin continuing to struggle in the grasp of it's oppressor, who's finally seemed to have enough of it, dropping it- Figuring it not worth the risk to get chased down for it as well... The one being held by Kay does also bite for 25(15) damage, and even flinches Kay..!

Barrier(3)
Irene(23/19)
Etoile(20)
Scyther(18) Running with KO'd Grubbin, 5 meters away from Cygnus, 27 meters generally
Izzy(16) 44/72

Polaris(5/4) +2 SPD
Vikavolt(4) heavily injured
1 Charjabug(4) #1 falling...
3 Grubbin(3) #1 falling..., #2 => Kay, #3 injured
??? unknown participants

(Irene, can I have an... Acrobatics roll, to see how well catching the bug that got dropped goes? Any preference on which?)

Bjorn

Bjorn considers the gate for a while, thinking about how one's supposed to open it... And then realizes he's not put down the four idols he collected on the pedestals yet, which might help him figure it out. As soon as he's done so, the door slowly grinds open, revealing...

Another door. Great... This one doesn't even seem to have pedestals or anything to open it! There is a machine off to the side, though... But rather than a way to open this door, it seems to be for rewards- Offering either a "dusk stone", "razor claw", or "leaf stone".

Haley grits her teeth and gets her sleep powder. She edges to the whimpering creature and uses sleep powder. sleep powder [1d20] = 20

Once it's asleep she gets out her sticky rope and starts tying up the creature.

Haley edges closer to the creature, until she knows it's just around the corner... And then quickly hits it with some sleep powder! As she does, she can see it strangely shift... Right before a sudden bout of sleepiness hits her as well, and she collapses too..!
