If you don't like the shiny new forum look you can change it under the forum options to the default one.

It shall be so. It has been covered before, but the problems with the old forum had a lot to do with issues with how BF set it up and promptly stopped caring about. It is now backed up daily and those backups are further transferred to three other storage locations weekly.
