It could have been something as simple as one of the other characters (or one we never really met) was intended to be a paladin (and the one to interact with the axe), and after letting Ears live, that class was a better fit for how Thunt wanted to write him and was shifted.

Where? I can only see his eyes in the fourth panel, and they're purple-black/white respectively.

Ever since Tarol started his Patreon and posting HD pages there, he started to add hue inside many character's pupils. It's somewhere around 14 pages now, I cannot look up right now. So from the beginning of this scene Minmax has that green, yeah.

Nope. Originally, Minmax was drawn as a big, black guy. Then as his character started to come into focus, I thought "Maybe I, as a white person, shouldn't be writing a black character who's really dumb and pseudo cheats with the rules".

Once I switched him to a white guy, I was free to make him as flawed as I wanted, without people mistakenly thinking I was making some kind of messed up, racist statement.
