It may be something subtle, which will show only later in the stories.

Someone dies. Most likely ears. A changw in perspective wont change it forever.

Kore suddenly realizes he has been evil all along and commits suicide

Goblins are defeated and we now have these evil-copies as the new main characters.

That would be some change.

Thunt changes his art style. From now on it's manga all the way.

Thunt's "countdown" doesn't have to be big news. We can already see that there's a battle coming up. Thunt has said that he always ensures something changes irreversibly, in every battle, so technically this is always going to be true, and Thunt does like to tease!

But if we're talking MAJOR change, then... what if MM and Complains save each others' lives in the upcoming battle and become Best Friends Forever?

Or, more ominously... what if one or more of our adventuring characters is taken over by his Evil Doppelganger?

I wonder a bit about Complains of Names' counterpart, as CoN already is partly demon.
how will that affect CoN's counterpart?

I think it will be something unrelated to the plot, like changing the size of the pages or making an animated series, or getting a new URL.

Sounds like a lot more than a redesign. I don't think it is another character death, though--I would think Thunt would at least save that for a battle with a notable antagonist, not some nameless demons. BE is down, so maybe one of the demons grabs the axe? I'm leaning more towards the new sword doing something with Names's demonic nature, or Fumbles getting even more injured and then the staff transforming him/revealing something about him in some way.

Alternate theory: we get a glimpse of some sort of terrible future event the next time MM draws oblivious for an attack.

*vague sense of dread*

A Baldur's geek inside joke. I know, I loathed him too, but it fits.

I had this moment of revelation while creating this. I simply thought of Goblins as existing within the AD&D multiverse, long before the Baldur's Gate events. I'd love to see me a mod to see such a weapon in-game.
