am I the only one who doesnt like them ? =p
No, you're not. I couldn't care less about those two. I would much prefer Forgath dealing with the issues at hand (i. e. Kore's very real threat to kill everyone he knows and loves) instead of having, um, Idle banter.askstoomuch wrote:am I the only one who doesnt like them ? =p
according to the recent poll, about 80% readers don't like them, so, no.askstoomuch wrote:am I the only one who doesnt like them ? =p

I agree, Sessine. We've only seen them for a handful of pages. It's hard to truly pick up an affinity for a character in what amounts to 2 minutes of screen time. I think Idle has the chance to rival Kin... eventually. I don't mean rival as in a cat fight, but rival as in 'be as great as in all our minds'.Sessine wrote: The new characters haven't gotten going yet, and for reasons I've articulated elsewhere, I don't expect their motivations to be very deep or involving for a while yet. Still, there's potential.
Yeah, I agree, I just wanted to make a tongue-in-cheek responseSessine wrote:Even though I couldn't respond, I did see how the poll was worded.SpeaksManyLanguages wrote:according to the recent poll, about 80% readers don't like them, so, no.askstoomuch wrote:am I the only one who doesnt like them ? =p
The results don't show that readers don't like the new characters -- only that they still like MinMax and the Goblins better. This is not surprising. MinMax and the Goblins have been around since the beginning of the comic. Everyone's got a lot more information about them, a lot more reasons to care. That group can coast on the past.
Despite his recent badass heroics, Forgath has always been more of a sidekick who can't carry a storyline all by himself. We've never known enough about what makes him tick. The new characters haven't gotten going yet, and for reasons I've articulated elsewhere, I don't expect their motivations to be very deep or involving for a while yet. Still, there's potential.
If Tarol runs the same poll a year from now, the results may be very different.

I don't believe that class alignment is a game mechanic - if it is, Thunt's never mentioned it in his Tweets to my knowledge.Krulle wrote:[im g]https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/or ... 2f0da1.jpg[/img]
Now, that's an interesting snippet of information.
But it may well be, and it is likely, that the set of rules for G:AR differs from the rules of Thuntverse as portrayed in the comic.
