I was curious about Fumbles actual class. If he ever actually decided to settle on one, I think he has all of the traits that would make a good bard. if only from a literary standpoint.

come to think of it, probably from a D&D perspective too...

I don't know, what do you guys think?

I think Fumbles decided to be eleven different base classes. At this point, I think he is 3/11th's of his way to second level.

Can you tell me how someone came up with an INT and WIS score of 10 for Fumbles? I find it unlikely he has higher stats then Minmax in those areas. If anything, I'd say they are equal at best. Not that I have proof, just my opinion and I'm curious how this was decided.

This thread assigns scores based on hard evidence about it. In this case we say "~10" and not "=10" because we just haven't found enough proof to say he has a certain score, and 10 is the default for a goblin.
If you find it, or think you find it, please post it and we can discuss it. If it's strong enough evidence, we'll change the score.
That's how this thread works, really :)

In case anyone wonders about the "default" goblin:
Goblins As Characters

Goblin characters possess the following racial traits.
  • -2 Strength, +2 Dexterity, -2 Charisma.
  • Small size: +1 bonus to Armor Class, +1 bonus on attack rolls, +4 bonus on Hide checks, -4 penalty on grapple checks, lifting and carrying limits those of Medium characters.
  • A goblinÔÇÖs base land speed is 30 feet.
  • Darkvision out to 60 feet.
  • +4 racial bonus on Move Silently and Ride checks.
  • Automatic Languages: Common, Goblin. Bonus Languages: Draconic, Elven, Giant, Gnoll, Orc.
  • Favored Class: Rogue.

Well, you need to make sure he has the minimum stats for every class in the game, since he (somehow) has all of them.

There aren't any minimum stats for classes. Dodge, however, has minimum Dex 13, and there's no class that grants it as a bonus feat, so Fumbles has at least 13 Dex.

That said, a character with 10 or less Int would make a terrible wizard, ditto for Wis and cleric/druid, and charisma and sorcerer/bard, because they wouldn't be able to cast any spells.

On a side note, I think Fumbles doesn't have 3/11 of every class, but is instead going through each of them 1 level at a time without realizing it. If he continues living, it won't be because he has good stats (although his saving throws will be pretty good).

That is true and could mean his Charisma score is 10. But judging from the reaction and body language of the girl in panel 9 of that page, maybe Minmax is either wrong or lying.
We could talk about this a little more. I'm sure there's more evidence in the comic about this subject.

Orc stats, for Biscuit:
Orc, 1st-Level Warrior (Venerable age)
Size/Type: Medium Humanoid (Orc)
Hit Dice: 1d8+1 (5 hp)
Initiative: +0
Speed: 30 ft. (6 squares)
Armor Class: 10, touch 10, flat-footed 10
Base Attack/Grapple: +1/+4
Attack: Falchion +4 melee (2d4+4/18-20)
Full Attack: Falchion +4 melee (2d4+4/18-20)
Space/Reach: 5 ft./5 ft.
Special Attacks: ÔÇö
Special Qualities: Darkvision 60 ft., light sensitivity
Saves: Fort +3, Ref +0, Will +0
Abilities: Str 17, Dex 11, Con 12, Int 11, Wis 10, Cha 9
Skills: Listen +3, Spot +3
Feats: Alertness
Given the number of hits he took, I'd say he has more than 1 HD, but I can't be bothered to check how many right now.

The stats I've listed are the 13-12-11-10-9-8-7 Average array with Orc racial abilities as presented on d20srd, with +3 to all mental stats due to being a demon's plaything for 200 years (and thus venerable age), but without the corresponding physical stat reductions for the same reason.

Edit: Forgot to add the age modifer change to Listen and Spot. Corrected now.
Edit: Ditto for will save.

I"m pretty sure his wisdom is a lot higher than that, given his soliloquy about it...and he definitely had ranks in Sense Motive.

*shrug* Very possibly. Those are the hard base stats given for an Orc in the MM, so that's what I copied here. In any case, he's wise compared to an orc.

How about alignment restrictions? You have to be lawful good for paladin, that would also cover monk but barbarians can't be lawful, neither can druids. I'll never understand how Vorpal works :?

Guys, remember that in order to state an score or ability we have to have some hard evidence about it.
If the only thing we know about Biscuit is that he is "very wise", and he has far surpassed the normal rules regarding age and int, wis & cha stats... then I'm afraid we won't be able to put him in the list.
A character will almost all his data in blank doesn't help anybody.
I think we need more data about him.

Wasn't he explaining exactly what is his wisdom, somewhere?
http://www.goblinscomic.org/06152012/
Would it mean at least +1 to wisdom every year? Would it be even possible? He would be like 60 people's collective wisdom. It would completely bend rules of the game.
Am I using word "would" too much?
Anyway we should better settle down at very wise for now.

More likely, +1 per decade or something.

Good point. You can't be both a bard or barbarian and a monk or paladin because monks/paladins must be lawful and bards/barbarians must be nonlawful. Who knows?
RedwoodElf wrote:More likely, +1 per decade or something.
In d&d, the stackable bonus to wisdom is +1 per age category, which varies among species, to a maximum of +3 (source).

Would it stop at three though? The whole reason it stops on the table is because you reach the 'Maximum Age', basically you die because that races body can't last that long.
With Biscuit he didn't have a Maximum Age. So theoretically it's not unreasonable he could probably go beyond the +3 cap even within the most standard ruleset.
