No, seriously. Nice plan by Kin, but I'm not sure if one of the MaxGAP can read. I know, they read the character sheets back then when Forgath and Minmax attacked the war camp, but are they really able to read?

I like how it looks like Minmax is babysitting a bunch of kids in the third panel.

Yeah, everyone but Barbarians. But does this count for Goblins also?

Oh, wait. I just remembered they read the description for the riddle at the entrance to the dungeon they're in at the moment.

And Minmax really points out a severe lack in this group.
Since the loss of Chief, they have no ranged weapon.
No bow, no thrown spear. (But an axe, which can be thrown.)

But they do have ranged weapons: spit.

It's super effective against paper!

Can you spit 7 m into the air?

Yes. Yes I can.

What? It comes in handy, sometimes. Okay, once. To win a bet. I got free beer all night, so I stand by that.

7 m far is still different from 7 m up into the air.
Maybe Parchment is only 4 meters up, still very difficult to reach with spit.

Anyway, congrats for winnin that bet.

Funny how in the prev page update it was suggested that MM will stab through the crack and hit Kin, but no one thought/wrote about the crack being too high to reach.

Getting accurate idea of the dimensions in the images is difficult, especially when no element with known size appears in the image, but we have no excuse there because the image with the crack appearing high above MM was shown already.

Although, I think in that page (http://goblinscomic.com/comic/page-12-2018) the crack appeared to be a bit lower? some height that MM might be able to barely jump to,
but in this update (http://goblinscomic.com/comic/page-14-2018) it appears well above jump height.

Pretty sure it was up... then again, I'd also had nearly a whole fifth of Jack before that. I miss Korea. And being young enough to be stupid enough to believe I was invulnerable.

The only reason I didn't say anything about altitude is I figured Minmax would contrive a way for the goblins to assist his jump to reach Parchment.

I figured Minmax would have used Improvised Weapon: Thaco and tossed him up there.

He could try, but Thaco would probably count his arm as an arrow to catch.

Ooh, ooh! Kore has a ranged weapon! Just wait for him to show up. He'll be happy to kill the dragon for you.

Well, now that I can get a better look at the symbols on the wall facing, I'm not so sure they only pertain to silence. Sure, they look like mouths clamped shut, but they are clamped full of very sharp teeth. Seems to me that the wall has another secret surprise...

They might not be divisions between teeth, but depictions of the same strings that are holding the exit shut. Not a bad speculation, though; given that we just read similar fears on the previous page.

@ BuildsLegos Ah. I see what you mean. Hmmm... Might not be a wise idea to tinker with those symbols then. Hey! I noticed that you advanced to "Causes Kersplosionsfornoreason!". Congrats!

I'm really enjoying this part. It's lighthearted, but drives the plot forward. Not sure what Kin's thoughts were when sending Parchment out, given her response of "Oh Minmax, no", but it worked out in the end.
I feel smart, but I'm pretty sure I'm an idiot.

Scoshan wrote: Tue Jun 05, 2018 5:58 amI was kinda hoping a paper dragon would've seemed harmless enough to not bother attacking.

Also, if Kin can tell whats happening, shouldn't Minmax be able to tell that's her familiar? Unless I'm wrong about how true seeing works.
Kin may have presumed the same as Scoshan and hoped Minmax would "see" her through it. But things are looking up now, the next big moment of suffering is surely several pages away.

The goblins seem very skeptical of Minimax's aggressive attitude toward the flying paper. I seriously doubt they would've helped to launch his heavy, armored butt up there -- especially quickly and efficiently without complaining or arguing. lol

And yeah - reading ability comes with race, and you can acquire extra languages depending on class. In the monster manual goblins are listed as having Gblin and Common as languages. If they could only speak and not read it, that would be indicated. I have a character that can speak Dwarven but can't read it. It's indicated on my character sheet.
I think at the beginning someone Fumbles was going to take a bunch of random and useless partial languages or something, due to all of his multi-classing. I don't remember clearly -- it's been a while since I read those pages.

The first time they read something it was Minimax's character sheet:
