A secret project - working on it. DONE!
Thies - A dungeon room - Roughly done. awaiting approval DONE!
► Show Spoiler
The room is about 200 feet (60 m) long and 100 feet (30 m) wide and 75 ft tall. The pit itself is about 100 by 100 feet with the box in the middle of the ceiling.
ceiling covered in stalactites.
powerful the air current from pit.
giant mushrooms?
human remains?
Badge - Kermit DONE!

So, what I'm thinking is similar to the above, but different in a few ways.
I want his belly to touch the ground and be somewhat more like a bloated bullfrog.
Making his legs similar to Frog legs, long and bent, with fat webbed feet at either side.
I'm imagining him to be fairly rotund, possibly even to include some froggy man-boobs which hang and/or flop over his giant belly. Given that he doesn't have organs that would show, other than the inventory below he would most likely be naked. Thus, the chainmail he is wearing is bulging due to his rotundness and probably stops at about halfway down the bloated bullfrog belly.
Huge bulging eyes, but in a friendly, crazy kind of way.
The great mace is held perhaps somewhat like a staff or walking stick.
Because the items below are magical in nature, it would be interesting if each of them would have a faint aura or glow about them, in a magicalness kind of way.
Inventory:
Wields the Equalizer (Cold Iron Great Mace +1, +2 vs Demons)
Wears Robes of Energy Resistance (Cold/Fire 15, Elec 30)
Wears Mithril Chain Mail +1
Wears a wooden Ring of Invisibility
Wears an Opal Bracelet of Defense +4 (Water Resistance 25)
Aegis - Aegis - Sketching done

Noland - Ilphnilee
► Show Spoiler
I kind of like how you did Belar'eyl appearance. So I guest Ilphnilee would have more of a scholar look to him by wearing black and green robe with his crystal staff either in his hand or trap to his back. He had his hair in a long pigtail (from when he was a she) and his facial expression should give off as serious. If you need more detail then just ask.
RedwoodElf - Noirmax
► Show Spoiler
How about a sketch of Noirmax in the style of Sam Spade (Wide brimmed hat and trenchcoat) with Noirkin as a Femme Fatale? (See story 2 in the current Story contest, the one about Reality 41)
I'll send you all reference material and a first sketch/pose when I start my work....
Im going to close the line here for now... maybe open up later, but need to get some of these done first..

So, my latest piece... (that I care to share...
way to many bad pieces this last month)
A Weilf, a creature of my own creation.
lizard, grows to be 50cm in the wild normally, but up to 1m in captivity.
chest is covered in feathers for insulation during the night.. from behind the back legs more dominant feathers cover the top and side of the tail around halfway down, and from here the soft feathers from the chest takes over and covers all the tail. colors varies greatly, but head and top of front body always uni color.
the live in hills and cliff sides near desserts and grass plains in warm terrain.

Nice
not sure if you're looking for criticism or not, but if so:
► Show Spoiler
Something's not right about the back left leg - it doesn't look like it's taking a natural step. If it was me, I'd have added a knee joint I think and had it grip the main stem of the tree. Lizard's can obviously straighten their legs out, but they tend not to, like these guys:
Anyway, just a pedantic comment! the rest looks awesome

You are improving very fast, good job! If I may suggest something: when I was drawing, many years ago, the most useful (and probably boring) excercise to get better was to freeze my hand on a pose, look at it and just draw it with pencil (b), no colors, at most some shading with a softer pencil (4b). Fill a sheet of just sketches of your hand in various positions, holding things, etc, it's not the most fun thing to do but it's VERY useful (and hands are maybe the most difficult body part to draw realistically). If you find that too difficult to begin with, start with more geometrical objects (a ball, a vase, some glasses, etc), always without colors and just shading in b/w.
Of course, it largely depends on what are your goals.

Thanks Hobgoblin
yea... I do the hand thing also... but it does not really seem to work for me... I kind of need to draw different things to improve apparently :S
currently my "med goal" is to develop a "simple style" something I can draw relatively fast and with enough quality as to be recognizable...

So you aspire to be a comic artist, I suppose? Well, in that case, besides training in realistic drawings (for example, with anatomical studies, animals, still life and expressions), many comic artists I know had to first copy pages among pages from famous artists. As I remember, the "personal style" was at the end of the road (well...at the end of
that road, because then you have to perfect it and master it). Unfortunatly, I'm no comic artist, I just did a hell lot of drawing/painting as a kid, so I can't help you very much in your path. Keep up the good job!
(and if I may request a theme for your next work...I'd like to see an eye, yours or someone else's
)

well.. not professionally... (or even freelance) simply just for fun and my own enjoyment (if others get a lough or good time out of the result that is good, but I have no goal to make any money out of it)
But thanks for the advice. it is definitely going in the backpack
An eye
cool... that will be the next after Noirmax... currently using most time on the comic training... but will do it
TO DO:
Noirmax + demsle Kin - redwoodElf
Eye, realistic (I take that is what you wanted?) - Hobgoblin

Yes, I'd like realistic (I had in mind Escher's Eye, when making the request), but other styles are fine too. Your choice. Also, b/w or colored, you decide.
And take your time, but not from the comic training.

hehe.. I don't think I can reach that level of detail in one go
I think my best so far is Aegis and Kermit above (in spoilers)

Well, as I said the style is totally up to you and you can take all the time you need.
Also, the difficulty lessen if you copy an eye, instead of drawing one from memory/fantasy.
(one more thing: I didn't specify "human" eye...so, you can do whatever you want!)

Thank you... A lot
Yea... I kind of felt like experimenting with the brushes and decided to go with watercolor... mostly because I usually make things with outline, but I felt a Baby face deserved not to be that "sharp" as outlines tend to make things... don't get me wrong.... Outlining is great for many things... many things gets better with outlines, such as comics and animated series... but... yea

Hey LAYF, draw me a group of nine adventurers as a group shot. Human or Anthro, can be your pick. All the artists I'm talking to are flaking out and one hasn't started after 6 months of "life in the way". Draw 'em separately and then group photoshop them into a groupshot.
