It still hurts me whenever I look at my old work.

Anyway. I used to read this webcomic called Dominic Deegan. The comic is on all accounts terrible, but some character concepts were kind of interesting.
The author didn't really deliver on the potential of these characters, but I like to brainstorm ways to make these characters work. There was a villain who was basically a devil worshipper who had a pact with a demon.
The character in the comic didn't actually have any demonic powers, instead being a generic slasher villain with sharp claw gauntlets.
I had the idea that the character might have been more interesting as a kind of immortal, considering the demon he worshipped was a "Demon of wounds".
Might as well have a power that has something to do with your characters central theme. In my world he would've been nearly impervious to physical damage, but massively weak to holy magic. Simple, right?

I kind of figured that when you've been a forever reconstructing unholy demonspawn you'll propably associate unimaginable pain with pleasure. You'd not last long otherwise with demons.
Still, ouch :?

Video games are cool guys.
More Zelda stuff.

I wish I could draw in the Zelda: Windwaker style, but I can't get a grasp on the look.

Doodlemoogle, I just finished going through this thread, and I'm hoping you'll post more. Especially like your Goblin!

That means a lot to me. School just started up again so I'll have to concentrate on that, but I plan to post more things as soon as I have some time to put into digital work. :D

And literally five hours later I've drawn something. Further proof the smallest compliment makes me move.

Yes! I like the cocky look on your goblin's face. Like he knows something the charging guard does not-- and the consequences are likely to be fatal. I'll join the crowd in saying that you could easily be the illustrator for a webcomic. Never stop! Have you ever drawn any fan art for Goblins?

I did draw some fanart a looooong time ago. Around 8 years ago almost. Damn, has it been that long?
I've unfortunately destroyed all the things from back then in a inferno of shame, but this thing survived because it's in the fanart section.

I think you can barely tell it's my handiwork, but there you have it. :D

I've been writing a script for the comic I wrote about in the last post.
I've written two chapters worth. I'm getting the feeling I might actually draw this comic. I'm still working on the dialogue, but I think I've got the panel layouts planned out pretty nicely.
Feeling pretty good about actually doing work on a project I've had planned for a long time.

Anyway. There's a character that comes in pretty early and I've been planning what he'd look like.

This is one of the ideas, but the design makes him look kinda angry.

That is exciting (sounds like a lot of work, but I think creating all aspects of a webcomic would always be that way, no?)

The little bearded dude looks serious. Is he a halfling or some such?

Yeah it's kinda nerve wracking because I haven't had much writing experience. I'm mostly trying to get dialogue to flow naturally and not take too much space.
That much I've learned from the few writing lessons I've been on. Otherwise it's going really well. Ideas just keep coming and I've roughly planned nearly 60 pages.

That character though. He's a gnome. He did come off really angry looking which is kind of off since his character isn't actually angry, but that's easy to fix really. I'm actually having a lot of fun with this. :D

Redid the concept of the Gnome character I posted previously.

The comic is going to need A LOT of sewer drawings. Need to practice this stuff.

I don't usually even think about the surroundings when I'm drawing a character, but this time I came up with the surroundings first. It seems to have worked out nicely.
The walls still lack a lot of detail, but to be fair I worked on this piece almost 10 hours straight. I might go back on it and add some details... Yeah, that's not going to happen.

Sacrifices that must be made if you want to draw a witch that almost burns down her own cottage :P

Hey guys. No art to post right now. Have to finish a painting for a school assignment.
I just wanted to drop by and say that if any of you fine people see anything off about the lighting/contrast with my pictures I'd love to hear it.
I'm saying this mainly because I've been going to a photography course at school for the last couple of weeks and they use really new and shiny Mac computers.
The monitors of these computers make my artwork that looks fine on my own monitor look like over exposed carbage. I don't know if it's just that the monitors at school are brighter or what, but it bothers me.
So if any of you use Macs I'd love to hear if the artwork I post seems off on your end.

That's all. Cheers.

I mentioned a painting I'm working on for school in the last post. The subject is autumn.
For the longest time I agonized and was trying to paint a traditional autumn landscape, but after numerous failures I decided to do what I'm good at.
Basically, I gave up. Here's what I came up with. I'm going to be transferring this idea to a painting. If it goes well I'll snap a picture and throw it here.

Black and white stuff is pretty cool to draw sometimes. I did hate charcoal drawing in our live drawing classes though. So messy.

Thanks Synch. Personally I like the first image the best. That crazy hair and the flapping cloak turned out to look great.
