DND

Post by Jacon » Tue Dec 10, 2013 8:32 pm

Uh, I had a dnd game for a short time and it kinda lost steam due to losing half the story due to forum loss and followed by lack of player interest because they lost track of what was going on and maybe just lost interest in the game overall. I don't really know but I do enjoy Gming games and working with players on the game and I don't really think i'm bad at it so I wanted to see if anyone was interested in playing a dnd game.

Uh it'd be 3.5 with some hombrewery. Any class is acceptable except for sorcerers. However Their will be no healing spells at least to begin with so you might not want to be a cleric. I think i'd like to start with just two or three players. Keep it simple.

For start up. Rill 4d6's 6 times and those are you scores. You can swipe out two points from one of your scores and put them where you want to as long as it doesn't put you above 18.
You also get a bonus 2 points to put where you will.
Racial bonus are added last and can go above 18.

I took something from 4th edition called dailies. Usually dailies are created by the wizards of the coast but since I like 3.5 and I also like giving players the ability to customize their characters I allow them to create their own dailies.
Dailies are basically the big guns for you characters. The big thing you pull for the boss fight. You can do them once per day.
Here are some ideas that i've done in the past.

Being able to turn into a grizzly bear for a turn with added strength bonus.
Can teleport short distances with the help of shadows.
Can make one attack fist that hits several times. ( Think Luffy gatling gun attack in One Piece.)

Etc.. I can help you make your come with ideas if needed. I reserved the right to remove or edit your daily in case they become to powerful and break the game but otherwise i'm very open to ideas.

For equipment you get a backpack, flint and steel, padded armor and a bedroll plus one item of your choice from the players handbook. Weapons I will give out when we start.

The world will the dark age after a golden age so expect ruins and needing survival skills because most of what you will deal with is wilderness.

Any questions please ask.

I didn't lose interest in the old game, but I think at the end it was only me and Gathers left playing. I enjoyed playing Etta though, even if she did break her bow every time she tried to shoot anyone :p

I am interested. I'm thinking about playing a (two-bladed-)ranger if that's cool.

Yes, only the core books but if you a class that I can access from the internet I might agree to it.

Core races are acceptable. So are goblins, orcs, hobgoblins ( hobgoblins do not gain the extra 2+ to abilty scores)

Here is the sheets that you can use.

Here is info for wizards. Don't use the sorcerer information.

Those who already suggested classes are in. Those who posted but didn't say what class can also join. Otherwise recruitment is closed.

Yes, with such a large group I might have to reverse my role about healing. This campaign was orginally made for two players and well it's easily adjustable the healing part of it is not. So consider clerics back on the menu.

Well if Quarg wants to be ranger, I will be something else. Possibly a specialist wizard or a bard, depending on other's choosing.

Well I have been debating the same question bob...

But beyond Warmages (or battlemages) I'm not all that keen on any other role

Well I will be melee-ranger/evocation( or Abjuration/Conjuration.) wizard/bard.

I will be picking the exact one after everyone else, since I don't mind which of them I'm playing.

I'm not in, btw. I was just commenting.

I'm really busy right now and I don't want to take up a spot when I might not be able to commit to it properly.

Yes, I will be your healer, a cleric. As I only now read that sorcerers are not available. :)

We get to pick the core evil races?
Goblin, Orcs, Hobgoblins, Kobolds and so on?

Renember there are no healing spells to begin with. So your cleric might be pretty crappy at the start, Nerre.
