It's an intriguing idea, swapping out forms based on the victim's bones. Starting low and working your way up makes sense in that case.

Ok. I've got some must do stuff tonight, but if I clear my slate, I may get an initial post up and link to it here. If not tonight, possibly tomorrow morning.

((I agree that I probably like Wax and Wayne better than the original trilogy.))

Narratively, I kind of like you guys starting as a variant on an oblex spawn, but able to shed your oblex nature and take on different forms more readily.

Image

The oblex spawn itself is only a CR 1/4 creature, but starting you guys out there and letting you 'level' quickly should work just fine. Might be good to have some less involved rounds to get our feet under us. If we'd started at CR 10, the stat blocks get that much more busy. That being said, I may upgrade the oblex spawn variant into something more robust if there aren't any interesting foes in the CR 1/2 range.

M0rt, you can absolutely suggest monsters to face, especially if there's something you want to try out, and I'll queue them up when appropriate. You can PM me if you want to keep it secret and safe.

Oh this sounds cool. Can I still get a spot, or are you full?

If so, I think my "char" would be named Ooze. :D

I'd been talking about capping it at 5, but that was perhaps more-so when we were talking about starting at CR 10. I should be fine, so hop on in!

Before it comes up, I'm thinking that any creature abilities that are regained after a long rest will need a long rest if they've been spent. So won't be able to top everything off by everyone just trading one set of forms to the left.

Is this a game type that will steadily continue despite lack of posting... Or will this get paused too

What do you mean? Just asking about long term?

It's something that could continue long term, if there's interest and we're keeping it active, or we could set a goal for escape, and once you guys achieve that, this game is concluded. May depend on how long TSW needs to stay on pause? And if I get SCH.2 design completed to be able to start that?

So... we'll see, and can discuss it as it comes up?

Sorry, I never assumed that there would be 4 pages worth of posts within a mere 3 days. I guess I'm just not used to games updating every day anymore.
Incidentally, I was with limited internet access unexpectedly for a couple of days.

Should I still make the dex safe roll, or just live with the taking "full damage" (how much was that even)?
Or should I just vacate the slot for someone who can post a bit more regularly?

Things are always fast at the start, can't say what pace we will settle down to, but my intent is not to be sitting around waiting for posts, as this game is started largely to keep me occupied while my other game is on pause.

I won't be upset if people can't or don't post for a few days, I just won't be waiting on them. You're not part of any combat until you roll initiative, so if you're not able to post right away, you're just hanging in the back.

It was 12 if you fail the save, 6 if you made it, and then the party took a short rest, so you'd be able to have regained all your HP by expending HD.

Well, in that case I think it wouldn't be fair for me to take up a spot, additionally to it not really being fun for me to either keep everyone waiting (not suggesting you should do that!) or stressing out over not getting left behind/catching up with the sheer amount of posts.

Thanks for clarifying and I wish all of you a lot of fun with the game. Ooze will just return to her "resting place" and wait for Master to come back, slowly healing her burned ... ectoplasm(?). ^^

Sorry if things weren't well communicated, but don't have anyone waiting in the wings to jump in, so if you're to a point where your internet is more reliable, or you'll be able to check in more frequently, I don't see a reason why Ooze couldn't just catch up with the others at some point, and if anyone needs to step back, they can always just hang out in a cleared room and rejoin the party when they're able.

Makes things a lot more flexible that way?
