Cool! I am very happy Krulle and me got in. I expected a 5x5 version to win but it seems people in here are to nice to leave us out. Thanks!

Oh. I already did my shirt and Pat's. And made new teleport sprites. And adjusted the stripes on the shorts to the right team colors. And made a sheet for Bahamut. And a second sheet for Bomb Diggity because his body is the same shade of red as the red team stripe, which made it kind of hard to change him to the blue team.

Correction: Carves A Pumpkin is level 2. Boar Slayer also leveled up in game 2. Burns, Davis: Please choose a feat.

ETA: Boar Slayer chose Nimble. Still need Carves.

ETA2: Carves takes Improved Guarding.

Everyone should join the CTF players group, and request to join the group for your team. This will increase the number of people you can target with a single pm and allow you to pm the whole team and Wears as one. Wears will be able to confirm everyone.

No? It's an image asking to link to the page, rather than the actual image.

It's from this page. Like I said, it would need some tweaks. Here's a possibility:

I think that'll probably be more of a pain to officiate than you'd imagine and it would make for huge images for every update.

The real question is 3 goblins from 3 different teams tackle a square at the same time. What happens? (I know how I'd handle, but just saying that would be a pain)

I am willing to try the 3-team-approach. turn order will be decided by rolling initiative for each player each turn (which would only be used in the case of more than 2 teams fighting in a field.
First one fights second one, the third then against the winner of the first tussel. While the first (fastest) and second one have therefore a chance to earn the xp for two fights, the third (slowest) has on the chance for the xp of one fight. On the other hand, fighting two battles will increase your chance to lose one.

A simpler attempt would be that only the best would remain standing. 3 men walk in, 1 man walks out. But I like the first one more.

Crowd penalties are also decided base on turn order.

The map would be a hexmap, as it is better for playing with 3 teams. You would have 3 empty corners and 3 with a flag. center as battleground, sides as sneaky-paths. How does that sound?
I would try to convert the images into vector graphics so I could just rotate them easily without having to keep each pose in 3 different angles.

If you are up for that, I would try it out with a 3x3x3. Larger would be too crazy for a test. I thought about 2x2x2 but that might end up with very uneven teams depending on levels and classes.

I will draw a simple sketch map tomorrow

... You mean like the map I sketched out a few posts up from here?

I don't think we need new rules to figure out tussles. If you tackle in to a square with more than one target, you either specify your target or it gets decided by random die roll. If there's a conflict of moves, you roll initiative. I don't think it needs to be more complicated than that. There's already plenty of bookkeeping in this game.

I'd considered a hex map when I posted the three-sided game map above. But it makes movement a lot more complicated. It also makes strategy much more difficult because opposing teams can come at your flag from the side, not just across the middle.

As for initiative deciding crowding penalties... I tried that, as you saw. It wasn't popular. And it made for some tough calls as GM about when an initiative roll was and wasn't necessary. It made sense to me at the time, but I don't think I'd do it that way again.

I'd proposed three teams of four, mostly so we could give everyone a chance to play. But it seems we may be down to 12 players. Take one out to be the GM, and you're left with 11, which just won't divide.

I am willing to run another game, now that I've gotten the hang of the bookkeeping, assuming I can catch up on sleep somewhat. Maybe it's better if we do two games. If we've got 12 players and two people willing to GM one game and play the other, there are plenty of ways we can divide that. Or I can take a break, rest up, and watch a 3-sided game from the sidelines.

Personally, I liked the larger game more. It felt like there was more strategy. But I realize its more work for the GMs. I'd love to try the 3-way but again that's a lot more work.

Also I'm not sure about being down to 12. We have 15 players signed up but as far as I'm aware only Carves has stepped out, so 14 players.

I agree with Chuck; I find 3x3 games boring. They're good for letting newbies get the hang of things, but there's no room for strategy.

Also, reminder that anyone who completed a mission or reached level 5 is allowed to pick a shirt color. I'll do the math on XP once MVP voting wraps up, but you should have some idea of whether you'll hit that mark. Krulle, you were on the mission, so you can pick a color any time.

I know, I just love my pink. I might change my mind in the future, and then I can still select a shirt to cover myself.

Anyway: I take improved tackling for having reached level 5.

Another request to the thread manager:
Can you please amend the above quoted passage in post one (2nd paragraph) to the one with links in posts 2,3,4 as provided by me in the quote?
It would make navigating to rules, points, player lists,... much faster.
Thank you!

(quote this post, copy the passage above ("copy"), and then edit post 1 and replace the passage at the start with the copied one ("paste").)
