Just go with the originally intended 5vs5.

Oh, right. I'll take cheer range and improved dodging. And shirt color purple.

All of us who were on the mission are now level 4. 11 XP is enough for Krulle and I (who were at level 2) to level up twice and the rest of you to level up once. Moose needs 8 xp to hit level 5, so if he's getting 3 (or even 5) for running the mission, he's still at level 4, as well.

We're not starting right away. I need to draw the field, get the character sprites set up, etc. But it would really help me to know what size field and which characters...

Updated signup list:

1) Tumbles Down a Hill - Level 4 Attacker
2) Carves a Pumpkin - Level 1 Defender
3) Bomb-Diggety - Level 1 Attacker
4) Hides Cloth - Level 3 Defender
5) Righteous Charger - Level 4 Attacker
6) Stands Firm - Level 1 Defender
7)Pats dragons - Lv4 Strategist
8 )Boar Slayer - Lv 2 Attacker
9) Has No Name - Lv4 Defender
10)Yells at others - Lv2 Strategist
----------------------
11) Dreamer - Lv4 Defender
12) Nerre Level 3 Strategist

So, just to see how it might go, I worked up a 7x6 playfield. Players would start in ABC and EFG. As you can see, there's a lot more room to work, but play would likely be focused towards the center.

If we went with a 5v5 or 4v4 game, we'd use a 5x6 grid (getting rid of basically A and G).

Votes so far have been all over the place. I'm willing to give it a shot. Also open to options and suggestions. And if anyone wants to volunteer to run a mission, that might change things.

Standard format for 5x5 games is usally 5x8- So an extra row in the middle. 6x6 should definitely have one at the very least. ;)

And sorry that I've been rather quiet- Just not having any too strong opinions on what exactly we're gonna end up doing. Just a quick reminder to Moose to give me improved guarding II. :P

I'd considered 7x8. The field does look a little lopsided. I was just afraid it would make everything take so much longer. Might have to tweak movement rules to let people actually get somewhere. But I'm willing to do it.

Trust me, it needs those extra spaces. Without them, everything is going to become a crowded, pardon my french, clusterfuck at times.

I believe there was also two flags in those games? I suppose everything is up to debate though. That way for 6v6 at least you could limit to just 6x6 or 6x8, though.

Also IMO, and I might be putting my own spot on the line by saying this, but I think lower level players should get priority over higher level players if there aren't enough spots to take everyone...

Okay, then. Updated list of choices:

A. 6v6 on a 7x8 grid with one flag for each team.

B. 6v6 on a 6x8 grid with two flags for each team.

C. 5v5 on a 5x8 grid with one flag for each team.

D. 5v5 on a 5x8 grid with two flags for each team.

All potential players, please PM me your votes. Vote for all four, ranked in order of preference.

(Example: If you prefer having two flags but would rather have a smaller grid, your vote might be D, B, C, A.)

You have until midnight tomorrow night my time (UTC/GMT-5) to cast your votes. That's just under 27 hours from the timestamp on this post.

Imo, the 5x8 maps from the older games also had two flags... But we got a lot of options on what to do, so it's up to you really what you think is best to play as GM. I think the whole idea with having two flags on the 5x8 was to make it easier to capture the flag as you'd have two locations you could try and attack rather than just one...

I remember we had a 5v5 game with First Capture Wins rule which just wouldn't end. I think that was one of the rules added to make it stop.
But the added benefit is making better use of the width of the field since the edges didn't get used much.

Voting closes in an hour and a half. I'll get the field ready tonight. Hopefully, everyone will be ready to start soon.

With that in mind: Those who were on the mission got 11xp. Please level up your characters (and, if you want, choose a shirt color).

Moose, there were already a couple of posts about that in the last couple of pages. I can update the character sheet post (on the first page of this thread) if you'd like.

Okay, votes are in. I'm getting the field ready. I had some thoughts about how to decorate it, but I spent most of today too dizzy to sit up, so we'll probably stick with just grass. I'm also working on sprites. Last chance to pick a shirt color if you've earned one.

If you were on the mission, please do not forget to pick your new feat(s).

We'll get started soon.

I was going to keep it a surprise, but I guess there's no reason to, really. And you do deserve to know. Option B won.

Teams are as follows:

Red: Tumbles Down A Hill, Dreamer, Pats Dragons, Yells At Others, Carves A Pumpkin, Boar Slayer

Blue: Righteous Charger, Has No Name, Nerre, Hides Cloth, Stands Firm, Bomb Diggity

Once again, those who were on the mission, please choose your new feat(s).

Right. And Pat is going with Cheer Effectiveness and a black shirt. And Chuck picked Improved Tackle. And I went with Cheer Range, Improved Dodging, and shirt color #21007F. Nerre chose Teamwork and Cheer Effectiveness (not on the mission, but needed to level up from the previous game). Is that everyone, then? Sorry. Somehow I thought we were missing more.

Okay, I'm working on the sprites with shirts, the black shirts are actually going to be a very dark grey so that the lines will remain visible. Should be done with the first one soon.
