Yeah, I've been dragging my feet about picking feats because I've been going back and forth about what I want. I'll take sprint awareness and another level of improved tackle.

Sorry about taking so long. Because of the reason Stands lost most of his tussles last round I was considering teamwork, but Stands will work toward his goal and pick up Improved Guard 1.

I thought the passage mentioned no sprinting, but... And I thought I remembered that one of the flag bearer feats allows sprinting with flag... But my memory is...
With the original rules, you would have been right. The Attacker class feat was included in what was prevented while carrying the flag, meaning they couldn't sprint with the flag on the opponents' side. Therefore, the flag bearer feat which allows one level of feats to still count while carrying a flag would've allow attackers to sprint with a flag on the opponents' side.

No need to worry about collecting feats in-game, Nerre. You calculate new XP, and after the game someone calculates how many feats can be selected by the players... :)
No change of strategy in-game due to specifically chosen feats.

Good. In the current updates something occured: An attacker had a lot of tackle bonuses, +5. Does the guarding really negate ALL of them?

My understanding is that guarding negates just the tackle bonus. That is, the movement bonus and any improved tackle bonus. The Defender bonus applies whether you're guarding or tackling. Defenders always get +2 when trying to pin on their side of the field. Likewise, cheer bonus still applies.

I've always read it to mean that any movement related tackle bonus is negated, but not any feat related bonuses.

- Guard
Defend the square you are in. If an opponent enters your square this move, you engage them in a tussle, attempting to pin them. While Guarding, the player negates the opponent's Tackle bonus. However, standing around too long will make your legs stiff, so a player that takes multiple Guard actions in one square takes a cumulative -5% penalty for each Guard action after the first. This penalty is negated after the player moves to another square.
Improved dodging (5 levels). For each level, the player gains a 5% bonus when Dodging in a tussle.
Improved guarding (5 levels). For each level, the player gains a 5% bonus to tussles when Guarding.
Improved tackling (5 levels). For each level, the player's tackle bonus is increased by 5%.
Looking at the wording in the rules. Other feats have "gains a X% bonus." Improved tackling says "the player's tackle bonus is increased." Since Guarding "negates the opponent's Tackle bonus" I took this to mean the bonus from the feat gets negated too. I presumed that the change in wording on that feat was deliberate. Though I definitely am not a fan of it going that way, but that may just be be because I have that feat. As for the class bonus, Its very sparsely worded so I can interpret it either way. :shrug:

The feat bonus negated is just another advantage for defenders, who otherwise don't move much...
Guarding is a passive "move", so it may be deliberate to have written "tackle bonus is increased".
For defenders on their own side the rules state:

Yes, Gimp needs some time to get used to it, as it is very slow if you don't know the basic shortcuts. Also the tool property management stuff feels strange to me, a bit anti-intuitive, but after a while I got a lot faster. First update (only pictures) took me almost 2 hours. Last one maybe 15 minutes at most.
