Xanth style D&D game - Any interest?

Post by Theonewhoisodd » Thu May 01, 2014 4:34 pm

I was thinking of running a D&D game set in the world of Xanth by Piers Anthony. I was just wondering if there would be any interest from fellow forumites before I started making it.

So any takers?

I would be, loved that series. Choose your magic ability or have one assigned to you?

A mix of both. A style of magic is chosen randomly (i.e. Transformation, Control, Illusion, etc) and then a d4 is rolled to select strength:
1- Magician Tier
2- Neo-Sorcerer/Sorceress Tier
3- Generic Tier
4- Hidden

Then I'll work with each player to come up with something they like and fits their rolls.

Huh. I might be up for that. I used to love those books. I'm even in the credits of a couple of them. Outgrew them, but a game based in that world could be fun. I'm always up for silly puns and lighthearted magic.

That's okay, it's mostly up to the person writing it to come up with the puns. I've only read the first dozen or so but that gives me plenty of ammo for puns.

Never heard of Xanth, but I'm always willing to try learning something knew. Tack me on as low priority to the metaphorical list of potential players.
My game:
Hunters of Letrua; Character list
Also Player / Monster stats, skill lists.

My characters:
Tugs Tails, the goblin that was sort of a trapper and wears a bear's tail at his neck, for some reason - Lair of the Mountain King (Run by Thinks)
Alex Sparo, A city boy, poor of sight, who has learned to manipulate people and make the most of what he, and others, have - Trinity Isles (Run by Mort)
Mehriv Turajin, a Noble Dragonborn Sorcerer sent from his clan because he wasn't dragony enough. - The Wandering Archipelago (Run by Thinks)
