Comic linking appears broken

Post by Corronchilejano » Fri May 10, 2013 10:04 am

So, someone links a comic through date, and it works for some and doesn't for others. I asume it works by looking it up through date, but not DATE date but rather local date.

So, someone in australia links a comic and it may not work for someone in the US. The other person might have to look for it a day earlier or after.

Nope.
The threads for discussion about a comic should include the link to the comic.
But when Morikahn finishes the shading, the finished artwork gets a new date, and the old date is taken out.
The advantage of this system is, that the actual images remain online.

At the beginning of the outsourced shading, the finished image replaced the unshaded image, now it gets a different date.

See e.g.
http://www.goblinscomic.com/03172013/ and http://www.goblinscomic.com/03162013/ (not working anymore, image now under: http://www.goblinscomic.com/comics/20130316.jpg)
or
http://www.goblinscomic.com/05042013/ and http://www.goblinscomic.com/05032013/ (not working anymore, image now under: http://www.goblinscomic.com/comics/20130503.jpg )

So, right now the forum rule about the inclusion of a comic link is not helpful.
Also, the date in the thread may be wrong after the update (depending on the OP, whether the poster chose the should-be date or the actual date).
Either the Goblinscomic.com masters need a different scheme of how to update after shading,
or the forum needs a new way of handling this when it happens. The mods or the OP could change the /link in OP/title of OP/ being one possibility.

BTW: I prefer us forumites to change our ways, as I like to look up the unshaded images now and then.
