The School For Good And Evil is amazing. It's classified as children's literature, and does feature a small amount of juvenile humor, but for the most part it is an extremely serious deconstruction of the cliches involved in traditional fairy tales, and the prose is incredibly engaging and enjoyable. The edition we read also features fine illustrations, one per chapter, and is printed on paper that has been intentionally dog-eared to make it look more like an old-timey manuscript. It would make a fine addition to the bookshelf of anyone interested in the subjects of folklore and fantasy.
