Aww, crumb. I saw that you'd changed your action to cheer him on but missed that you'd also changed the other half of your move. I can't fix it tonight. The files are on the other computer. I'll let both teams know.

CTF Game 3: Turn 12 (Still Alive!)

Score: 19 to 15

Bomb Diggety and Righteous Charger advance as Boar Slayer moves to the flag square. Pats Dragons and Yells At Others line up with them in column 6. Meanwhile, Dreamer crosses the center line.

Tumbles Down a Hill moves towards the lower flag as Has No Name spawns in the same square.

Nerre waits patiently as CarvesAPumpkin, Hides Cloth, and Stands Firm all move one column closer to the flag.

Yells At Others cheers on Boar Slayer, but Righteous Charger tackles down instead of forward.

Pats Dragons runs forward.

Our two rookie orange defenders go for a rematch! Stands Firm and CarvesAPumpkin tackle each other in B2 as Nerre cheers for Hides Cloth.
► Show Spoiler
Those crowding penalties really do seem to make all the difference for Carves, as he just manages to overpower Stands. Carves gets 1 XP and a point for the red team. Stands must stand again in the first half of the next turn.

Score: 19 to 16!

Has No Name guards as Tumbles Down a Hill prepares to tackle the flag square.
► Show Spoiler
Has No Name easily catches Tumbles Down a Hill, earning 1 xp for winning the tussle, 1 xp for sending Tumbles back to his side of the field, and a point for the blue team. Tumbles must respawn.

Score: 20 to 16!

The next point could determine it all.

Bomb Diggety and Righteous Charger cannot sprint next turn. Boar Slayer, Hides Cloth, and Righteous Charger have -1 to tussles for their missed tackles.

Not that it matters, but the nimble bonus is canceled if the user is tackling or etc I believe? :)

It doesn't apply on a tackle roll obviously, but as long as I'm not sprinting it applies.

Its a dodge bonus. Since he wasn't tackling the square you were in, he's still dodging. If he had been tackling d1 or you had been in e1 he would have been tackling not dodging. But because he wasn't tackling your square the nimble bonus still applied.

Edit: I just noticed I did not get advancement xp.

Yes, but the tackle bonus didn't come into this. No Name guarded, attempting to pin Tumbles. Tumbles was running through the square. He was on his way to tackle the flag square. But to get there, he had to dodge No Name. So, for that tussle, he wasn't tackling. He was dodging.
ChuckDaRighteous wrote:Edit: I just noticed I did not get advancement xp.
Ah, right. Sorry. I saw you were due for it, but was shuffling things around and I guess you got lost in the shuffle. I'll fix.

I tried to help him finding the cause for the confusion.... That's what gets cancelled, and likely what he remembered faultily...

Also fixing Dreamer's advancement XP. He only gets 1, not 2. He's spent almost the entire game on his side of the field, but did make it to column 4 early in the game, and red has not made a successful flag capture to reset that.

Thanks. :(

I saw I got two, and thought I have to check it later, when I have time to look at the full moves....

Now one more to get to next level... :p

Score: 20 to 17!

Over in B2, Stands Firm stands up. CarvesAPumpkin guards. Nerre cheers on Hides Cloth as the defender tackles in.
► Show Spoiler
Once again, it's the crowding penalty that decides it for Carves. He wins 1 XP and another point for the red team. Hides Cloth must spend the first half of the next turn standing up.

Tumbles Down a Hill respawns on the sidelines.

Score: 20 to 18!

Dreamer tackles into the blue's home column as Has No Name tackles forward. Yells At Others guards, but Boar Slayer has already taken down Bomb Diggety.

Nerre cheers on Stands Firm as he tackles the empty flag square. CarvesAPumpkin is distracted by having knocked down Hides Cloth. Pats Dragons continues his advance.

Righteous Charger makes it to the red's home column as Tumbles Down a Hill spaces out.

Has No Name and Stands Firm have -1 to tussles for their missed tackles.

Score: 20 to 18!

Blue is one point from victory. But you have to win by two, and the game won't end if red has possession of a blue flag.

He'll need to spawn in the first half.

Would a move to F8 be sufficient?
Moving in from the sidelines?

by M0rtimer
Wouldn't that be exactly the same as spawn into F8? Unless you're trying to say "tackle into" rather than "move", of course. :shifty:

Tackling in would be an option, IMHO, but if Righteous moves North the tackle is missed anyway....

I think he meant it as move north to tackle into e8 would it count toward the bonus.

I think he was only placed there as an indication of "this person slept through the turn."

I understand that, but then it might justnas well allow this small possibility, although in this situation it will not help.
I found the updates coming rather quick in succession this time. But that may be me....

Also: I like the idea of using the sideline... :)

If I find the time to host a game, I might implement a few "let's try this" rules...

lol, the dice were evil enough that I refuse to vote for them.

I'll go with the XP values and vote for Bomb Diggety. A lot of important participation on his part. He gets 3 level ups off this game!
