Well done, that was a harsh rabbit.
You guys think our shaman in the village can find out what happened to this one?
Let's go and collect the dead rabbits, dead foxes, and maybe some berries we stumble over on our way home.
I'm hungry.

Should we tell them what was up with the rabbit, Moose?

Also, aww, my Yarzog.

Take ALL the meat and head home I guess! Rabbit meat takes priority, then the foxes...

@Knuckle: let our seer/fortune teller find out/tell us, once we're back in the village.
Yarzog, the Gluttonous: did he have the rabbies? Sunset fever? (Eating all he could)...
Will his disease be magically transmitted when we eat his meat?

Yeah, speaking of which, maybe eating Yarzog isn't the best of ideas...

Even IF he could feed 6 goblins...

We can give him to the thickheads?

The kits are very unconscious At the moment, hence the difficulty in trying to train them.

Mission details:

Primary objective (individual): Survive without major injury. (1xp) Success!
Primary objective (group): Return with enough meat for the clan and as tribute. (4xp each) Success! Needed at least one meat thing per player, you got 8, 6 rabbits, 2 foxes.
Secondary objective: Find out what is causing the rabbit population to shrink so dramatically, and rectify the problem. (Wreck the ecosystem so that rabbits reproduce like... well rabbits!) (3 xp each) Success! Needed to "remove" at least 4 foxes from the wild.
Bonus objective(s):
Bring home extra meat: 2-3 xp depending on whether you guys figure out how to drag everything home.

Players:
Has No Name Level 3 Defender, 5/5 HP, 1 ATK, 3 DEF: Improved Guarding 1, Banner Guardian 1 +1 DEF

Ok so we need to figure that out.
SeeAMoose wrote: Rabbit 1 - Yarzog the Gluttonous: Dead.
Rabbit 2: MEAT!
Rabbit 3: MEAT!
Rabbit 4: In view... also MEAT!
Rabbit 5: MEAT!
Rabbit 6: Decapitated! :wtf:
Kit 1: Uninjured, left the area
Kit 2: Injured, left the area
Kit 3: Unconscious.
Kit 4: Unconscious
Fox 0 -1st Mama Fox: Meat?
Fox 1 - Papa Fox: Left the area
Fox 2 - Boots: Injured
Fox 3 - New Mama Fox: Meat?
So we have 4 dead rabbits, one mangled rabbit, yarzog, 2 dead foxes. and 2 unconscious kits.

Perhaps find a long branch to tie the corpses to that you can carry between 2 goblins? Do it twice then I can carry the kits.

Oh right, there was one hidden objective worth a couple of xp that you guys didn't get. Find materials to make simple weapons. I hinted at it once or twice, but didn't actually think anyone would try to do it.

We could put the meat in a log and carry that.

Boots chases the Noisy Two-Legged Kit-Killers, but is sadly too far away to catch them until they stop.

lol, I considered taking a branch or something to use as a club but after I one-shotted the fox I dismissed the idea. Though I was thinking of making a fox tooth necklace once we got back.

That would have worked. I also gave you a bunch of yew saplings to work with for... something.

lets see... 2 people carry two rabbits. one person carries the fox, another carries the kits, and the last drags the fox with one rabbit and the Monty Pythonesk rabbit on it back, tied on with green vines or long grass.

Or we could use the saplings to make carrying poles.

I thought about it, but so much was going on that stopping and crafting was no real choice while the whole rest moved.

How heavy and stable are the hollow logs? We could but the meat inside and roll the meat home, or carry the log, or drag it along.

No Name got banner guardian. He's STRONK and could probably help carrying.

So what do you guys want to do? Rip up a tree to tie them to? Just leave behind a fox? Hollow though they may be, the logs are still pretty heavy... and cumbersome, you might run into trouble trying to roll it what with all the trees out there.

I want to use the saplings to make carry poles, or possibly a sledge.

Yeah lets just make carry poles from the sapling tree and two goblins can carry more then.
We can tie it with straw, long grass, or use the material from our own shorts!

I suppose that makes it an even 11xp for everyone involved, I'll post something more substantive tomorrow, maybe even with pretty pictures ;) Just needed a break after that rather long round.

The goblins begin their long trek home after successfully killing a tree. Wait... where'd they go...
Image
Oh, okay there they are

Eventually they arrive at camp with their spoils (not to be depicted because I still need to draw it :shifty:), just in time for another practice game.

In case anyone is interested, here are the images I sent to the animals. Also, I would appreciate some feedback on this experiment. Would you all like to see more missions along these lines where you explore an area? Is there anything you would like to see done differently? Did having animal players (aside from the few hiccups), make it more interesting for you? Should we just go back to static maps?

I'll start thinking about what to do for the next mission. At some point it will mean that I need to make sprites for other races though... If anyone has any ideas feel free to let me know.
