I will tell the troll I will be right back for the beer and sign. Heading downstairs, I will announce "hey, I got the beer. We just need to return the spear. Also I got a cool belt and a map of some kind!"

[Because of my agreement with gathers for the potion, I would have to offer the belt to her first. The map isn't really up for grabs as it is a group/quest item even though I wl hold it for now. I think we should split the loot and go cuz TL has given us enough hints to not screw with the skellys.]

Walks will open the last chest before pulling it out of the acid, and then pull it out of there, before it fills so much that it's too heavy for one goblin to handle. If she still can do something afterwards, she'll move up a room, leaving the acid filled chest to William and whatever plan he has with it.

I'm willing to give the acid plan a try.

Plan A: Fill the small chest with acid (maybe halfway?), haul it up the ladder with the rope, throw it at the skeletons, and see what happens.

Plan B: Lasso a skeleton with the rope and try to pull it into the acid.

Plan C: Attempt melee combat now that we're better equipped.

Plan D: Leave. We've done what we came for and more.

I do think we should return Rork's spear.

Not going to hurt my brain decrypting the puzzle. I suspect it's a simple letter substitution cryptogram, but I'm not in great shape to spare the brain juice for that this week.

I will help William implement Plan A (assuming that's the plan he's going for).

That make sense?

I think walks wants the small chest and has given us a large chest filled with acid in replacement. Therefore:

William will hand over the small box to Walks before attempting to set up a line to lock down the acid chest with enough line to haul it up to the next level.

I would be willing to use the bow on loan. Also the potion kept me from dying; the belt is yours if you want it. Otherwise I will put it in the loot division lottery.

Yeah, I should hand over the bow...but let me first focus on getting the acid up...

OOOH! IDEA! I can use my dungeon sign to push the skeletons back as you shoot arrows at them. And possibly stab at them with sticks and the spear from below. They would have to either knock the sign out of my hands (I would retreat across the bridge and then let them fall in the acid) or they would have to destroy the sign (Im hoping it is somehow also indestructible).

Should I get my sign?

The sign has no stats, so you can use it however you like but it wont' provide any combat bonuses (i.e. it's not a shield).

well forget that idea then. :ktongue:

I will just cross the bridge and then wait for the others to get up there.

"hey, I got the beer. We just need to return the spear. Also I got a cool belt and a map of some kind!"

Walks and William set about hauling a very heavy crate of acid out of the pool and up the ladder...

But enough reminiscing. Let's throw some acid on these skeletons!

"So Odd how did you guys get the acid up the ladder?" (blushing) "Gee...can we not talk about it? Thinking about it makes me feel....violated and dirty." LOL

I will either help throw acid or use the bow (depending on whether i get the bow)

I'm not sure, but I think at some point in there we may have dropped some acid.

"Hey, gnomes? We're going to throw this acid at the skeletons. There may be some runoff. You'll probably want to go inside for a little while. And maybe, if you can, close the door. Just to be on the safe side."

You'll get the bow just before we attack the remains of the skeletons...

Walks will stay well away from the chest and the acid, but help fight them (with the fancy spear!), if the skeletons are charging for some reason.

@ Odd: would you mind lending the armor to Walks if you get the bow? If you're not in melee range, you should be safe without it. And yeah, I think I'd like to have the belt of fisticuffs. It would make an inconspicuous 'weapon', after all. :D

Usually, most acids (except HCl, and HF I think) eat away anything BUT bone. You know flesh and skin and hair and organs... So, um, why do you think it's a good idea to use it on the skeletons again? Not to criticize you, just curious. (The more you know! )

It's the other way around - so in RL, acids will react with the calcium carbonate in bone to produce carbon dioxide + a salt + water. If you leave a tooth in coca cola, the acid will dissolve it away overnight. Similarly, if you leave a bone in acid, it will lose the calcium carbonate (the hard bone), but leave behind the protein (collagen) matrix so you'd basically have a jelly-like thing left over with the same shape as the old bone, but none of the brittleness or strength. :)
