Hmm, I thought he will be able to spawn after No-Legs died. That cell is free and rules say that players will be prevented from stepping into cell only if there is other player there.

But he tried to spawn there in the very same turn No-Legs did. In the case it weren't a mine, he would not have been able to spawn there anyway. I made the rule quite simple to follow to limiting spawn/movement to the turn already. Else people might condition their actions "I spawn here if he dies, and there if not", etc. making me unneccessary extra work.

Burns, there is XP loss at death, but it didn't kick in yet. (Remember, you keep 0.8x, rounded up. 1x0.8=0.8=1, 2x0.8=1.6=2) I think it's fair at start where you are more likely to die anyway. It might be too mild further on (we have discussed this), and so it might change. As for now, it's working. And sorry for not making corpse-thrones like you did. Yet. ;)

Turn 3 >>Next Turn

Oh See That Shiny joins again, this time on B2, which is a "3". +1XP
Finds Mines flags D5.
Step-and-Boom (yellow) begins the game on J4, with a "3" under his feet. +1XP
Flags Mines chooses K6, getting a "1". +1XP
Tries-and-Dies tries I2. A "3", again. +1XP
Stumbles around spawns on B8, either because the coordinates written look like two eyes and round glasses (which is exactly what he has - not that he sees anything, though), or because column B has proven to be interesting, or because... Okay I know, noone cares, I should get to the point. It's a "2". Sigh. +1XP
See Four decides that so much violence is too much for his nerves, so he steps onto B5. Looks like he has to endure violence once again...

Bada Boom chills out and risks being circled out!
Peg-leg Sue chills out and risks being circled out!
Dies-to-a-Mine is not hasty on her spawning, and risks being circled out!

(In case they don't post an action in time for next update, the first appropiate number of players on waiting list get to play immediately, so make your spawn locations for faster deployment, if you wish ;)...)

Since The Mighty Moose made me a master of gaMes too, I quickly took it to my advantage and whipped up the character sheets. This will be more readable than the old system in the old forum, and it will be a hell lot harder for me to maintain consistently, so please bear with me!

I also promise to add profile pictures to them at some point :)

Removing your own flag is a free action if you are in reach, so you still have an action left.

A question on rules: is it valid action to withdraw from the map into waiting queue? If so, will it count as death regarding xp loss?

You can withdraw ('cycle/circle out') without losing Exp, yes. Nikohl is doing just that this turn.

@nikohl: Yes, that's why I keep a "1-day safety stay" instead of immediately circling people out. Technical hiccups or sudden RL changes shouldn't be punished. :)

@No-Legs: That has been a surprise for the players on the old forum, but they know me better and would likely say that if I'm lazy to change that, then the first level up is at 10 XP. They are probably right.

@Stumbles: Do you really want a death counter? :/

Just like Dusk said, yes. It is called circling out. It bears no punishment as it is not a death in the technical sense.

The action is valid with the following restrictions:
- In case there is no waiting list (too few people playing), you cannot circle out.
- You cannot circle out if you are engaged in battle. (fighting monsters, for example)

- If you circle out, you can't have any other action for that turn.
- You will be put at the end of the waiting list, after people dying for "natural" causes. (And logically before the next player who also declares a circling out)

NOTICE
Peg-leg Sue has choosen to circle out, so No-Legs is able to spawn.
