Turn 71
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

"Oh yeah.... forgot about that somehow..." wants says as he looks at his bloody cuts "I hate halflings!"
Wants takes the loot from the adventurer camp out of the backpacks and puts it into the storage, together with the firewood he took to make torches. The chief stays in the storage to take a look at the loot while Wants heads for Age's hut. The chief notices that some items have dried. He takes them and the unidentified stuff to Age and the gold into the chest.
"Age, I know it's late but I'm kind of wounded, do you have any healing stuff left?"
"I got plenty of it. We brew new salve yesterday, have a seat."
"Can I?" Grace asks before Age even starts to do anything.
"Sure. Wanted to ask you anyway, so you get some more practice."
"Knock your self out Grace" wants says and smiles.
Grace takes some bandages and puts the healing salve on them, doing her best to tend to Asks wounds. It feels nice and calms the wounds very fast and even has a light cooling effect.
"how's that flute doing?" Wants asks while she is binding his wounds.
"I haven't played yet today. I'm studying you know! I'm gonna practice later when I've got time. You have to be focused on what you're doing you know." Grace says sheepishly.
"What do you think about that? What do I need to work on?" she asks when she is done.
"That's ok. Wants, next time you will come here directly after a battle. All the armor will be good for nothing if you got no body left to wear it." Age reproves Wants.
Appears enters. "Age, I got some more things for you to identify." he says and puts the items on a table.

"But... if they're getting burned down all the time, why not make the extra effort to make them sturdier and fireproof?" Cowers says, still working on the hut. "I mean, isn't it using up more time overall just constantly rebuilding the same huts?"
"I said could. Not that they do burn down every time adventurers enter the camp. It happened only to three huts since I am here. And until we got more free hands there is just no chance to make the extra effort. This kind of hut takes three to five people to work on it a whole day or more. The fireproof kind would take over a week and much more wood and we would have to look for clay. Sorry. I would like to build something better, too." Thumbs says and goes back to the other hut, continuing to work on the roof.
Coats carries a beam to Cowers puts it into the hole in the ground, holding it until they tamped the earth enough.
Flies continues cutting down bushes and small trees, gathering another two stacks of sticks. One more to go.

Walks trudges back to the camp with his loot in tow. "Hey, maybe we could go looking for the girl tomorrow. She did say she was nearby."
"Hmm....maybe." Tinkers walks along with Walks, "Tell me about this wolf of yours."
"Nauhir? Well, first of all, he's not really my wolf. He's a companion, at least, that's what I've figured. He just likes me enough to follow me around and help out."
As if he understood what Walks said, Nauhir barks and runs around them. Sometimes far ahead, sometimes behind them.
After some more walking, they reach the warcamp just in time for the dusk after sundown. Poor and his helper finished wracking the second burned down hut and are starting the every evening campfire with the charred wood.
Thumbs jumps down from the first hut after finishing the roof. He walks over to Cowers and Coats. "You worked enough for today. Let's go over to the campfire and get something to eat. We can continue tomorrow."
Then he goes over to Flies and tells her the same, taking two of the stacks she collected to the hut which has still no roof.

Turn 72
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

In the tellers hut:
"Thanks Grace - and you too, Age!" Wants says as he leaves the hut. He heads to the storage to reequip and get Cowers a new weapon.
"Can I watch?" Grace asks, looking at the objects in need of identification, "Or do you want to do this alone?"
"You can watch but I won't start with it today. Let's get something to eat!" Age suggests and goes to the campfire. Grace follows her and sits down by the fire, playing on her flute. It still is not something you would call music, but she get's better.

At the construction site:
"Oh....alright then." Flies leaves and looks for something to eat back at the campfire.
Cowers quietly nods. "I'll just leave the tools inside the unfinished hut. That way they're right there for morning." Thumbs looks into the sky. Seeing no trace of rain he agrees. Cowers leaves the tools and heads to her hut, getting the sword and the items to sharpen it. She then goes to the campfire, sits a sizable distance away, and continues sharpening and renewing the sword. She was feeling too homesick to actually eat anything tonight.
Coats goes to the fire and gets some food. When he notices Cowers sitting aside the rest of the clan, he quietly takes his food over to Cowers and begins to eat. Maybe he senses her homesickness and perhaps even feels it himself. He does takes silent pride in what he managed to accomplished today but he still wishes he could have worked on his fighting skills instead of construction work. Maybe when the new warriors show up they can begin combat training.
Some time later, Walks walks over to where Cowers and Coats sit.
"Hey Cowers, I found you this, maybe you could use it or something." Wants says and he hands her the crossbow and the bolts.
Cowers looks up, surprised, when offered the crossbow and ammunition. "Oh. Um... thanks?" She'll take and look the crossbow over for a few moments, before returning to sharpening her sword.
"So..." Cowers asks both of them "...any idea when those new warriors will be showing up?"
"Tomorrow I hope...The sooner were better defended the better. Getting any better with that bow of yours?" Coats says trying to strike up a converstation up with her.
"I.. I think so. I'm not missing quite as often. Although... I'm really hoping I don't have to use it again anytime soon." Cowers sighs. "Doesn't seem like it'll be the case, though. Why can't those humans just leave us alone?"
"It's how it's always been." Coats mutters while eating. "Humans and the other races have never respected us. They only think of us has a threat..." He leans back to reflect. "And look what they have done to us..." he adds. "Be prepared...I suspect they will attack tomorrow. They'll be done with the orc village and they'll soon move unto us! I'm thinking of creating a flat tree house where you shoot and be safe...You'll have to keep an eye open for other archers and mages but at least you won't end up with a sword in your belly..."
He returns to his food, not being shure if "a sword in your belly" are good words to end a conversation while trying to calm down Cowers.

Walks and Tinkers are busy putting their loot into the storage.
"Let's get his inside and something to eat." Walks suggests while they are busy putting the tents into the storage hut. He then goes and gets some food for Nauhir and himself and sits down by the fire, talking with other goblins around. Tinkers follows him and sits down next to Age.
"I have bad news. I was traveling with the 'human' woman from yesterday, and we found where that group of adventurers made camp. She decided we should sleep there for the night. After all the fighting and little sleep I've been getting for the past couple days, I was unable to stay awake and fell asleep myself. She was gone when I awoke this morning. I apologize for my failure."
"We can check on her and the spiders another day. We will have to prepare the camp for the attack. You where careful enough for one goblin by following her when everybody stopped thinking of her as a threat. Get something to eat, you will need your strength soon." Age calms him down.
Tinkers gets something to eat and takes it to his hut to eat it.
Appears walks over to Age "They found 4 large tents! No need to build further huts for now. At first I was thinking it was a stupid idea to check for the adventurers camp, but what they brought back seems to be more than worth the excursion. We should finish the last hut."
"I agree. We don't know how many reinforcements they will send anyway. I will identify the magic items and paperwork we looted, they probably give us some boost."
"Hope they do. I don't want to loose a third of the warcamp again."
"Me neither." Age says, patting him on his back, smiling.

Time:
Time to go to sleep, little goblins. The day ends. Next turn = next morning.

Battle:
Wants is back on 4/5

Items:
Cowers:
1 light crossbow (small)
8 crossbow bolt
Wants:
1 small healing potion 6/6
into the storage:
1 small healing potion 2/6
2 oil lamp (? g)
4 waxed tents, large enough for two medium sized beings (? g)
8 bedrolls (? g)
7 empty backpacks (? g)
2 sets of flint to start a fire (? g)

Anti-Confusion-Information:
@Asks: I made Wants drink NOT his healing potion, since he just got bandaged up and he nearly got all hitpoints. The last one will come back while he sleeps. So I just made him trade his old healing potion against a new one.
@All: the dead, male elf has not been looted yet.

Turn 72.2 - Interlude and character introduction
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Big chief Say Tthat Again looked tired. After the death of Patient Like a Tree, a reputable female elder, he had lost some support. Stupid people who got the false idea what power is about and what is important for a clan, started to defy him and to reach for more power and influence. He had not problem if it were good people, but it was the hypocritical, selfish vermin of goblin kin. People who would have been killed by a strong leader in the fraction of a second, only for looking at him the wrong way. But these are more civilized times, and he cannot just kill everyone opposing him. He had already chopped off two heads of rivals who were stupid enough to question and insult him openly. But the remaining ones were smarter. They did it behind closed doors and only whispers. The poured poison into the clan, making people turn on each other who shouldn't. Doing politics and intrigue like humans. So ungoblinish! The people he could realy trust got fewer. Now he was forced to send a very hot tempered goblin to the war camp, who was a very promising fighter and maybe a sergeant when he got some more experience. But he had cause too many black eyes on the wrong goblins - at least in their own opinion. And then there was this feral goblin girl, whom Patient Like a Tree had taken care of. They want to get rid of her, too. Sending them to the war camp should end in them never arriving there if they had their will, but the chief made shure they did not have it. Tree of his most trusted fighters were send to bring those two to the war camp.
He did not like being forced to send them there, but it bought him some time. And he would be in a stronger position when they would come up with their next impudent request. Maybe he even bought himself enough air to cut of another head.
Furthermore, the two would grow stronger, and even would come back with more honor than they left. Then it would be much harder for the oposition to get rid of them again, and some would give the Big chief credit for not killing them - no matter if it was the right thing to do, what it definitely was.

So, the next they Punches Faces and Snaps at Ankles were informed that they will be garrisoned in the war camp at the lake in the south. Well, at last Punches was informed, to be honest. Snaps did not really care, as long as there was enough food, something interesting to view and nobody trying to shackle or grab her.

One day later, which is two days afore this morning:

They say a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Obviously that didn't apply to Snaps' journey from the village of the curse of the gold to chief Appears' war camp, because that distance was far less than a thousand miles. Also, Snaps wasn't walking, but sitting in the bow of a row boat, happily panting with her tongue stuck out and enjoying the to and fro from the waves gently lapping the little vessel and the fresh breeze, wafting all kinds of interesting smells into her delicate nose. Her eyes were fixated on a live chicken inside a wooden cage next to her - the only means the warriors could come up with to get the headstrong feral goblin into the boat, seeing that she didn't obey commands (nobody was sure if that was because she didn't understand them, or simply because she didn't care) and trying to leash her would most likely be a pointless endeavour, even while she was taking a nap, because she was such a light sleeper. Two of them had begun to lure her towards the jetty and then into the small ship while the third one already was fetching Punches, so they could depart as soon as she was in.
"Maglubiyet, I really hope we'll be able to return that chicken to Knows Best in one piece" - "Yeah we'd better, or she'll give us such an earful about damaging borrowed property." agreed the second warrior. "I'd really like to know what you two are complaining about. As soon as we are back in the village you two are off the hook. I'm stuck with her nagging for the rest of my life, her being my mother and all." the third one chimed in.
The first one of the warriors handed Punches a collar and a leash. "Here, if you want her to carry this, you have to attach it to her yourself." The others burst out laughing. "Haha, good luck with that."

Some time later...

SPLASH

The cold water rushed over Punches head in an instant, its freezing touch numbing him to the bone. Opening his eyes, he tried to focus through the gloom, the murky water partially obscuring his sight - gradually, his eyes growing accustomed to the relatively low-light. Below him, the silt-laden riverbed, almost five metres deep, with rocks even bigger than himself sticking out of the ground. Small fish darted between the shells and weed that covered the underwater landscape, chased by their larger brethren. Sunlight filtered through the surface, giving everything a ghostly, pale blue-green aura, as it illuminated his surroundings.
Despite the quiet beauty of it, there was only one thought going through Punches head;

Why me.........?

It had started off alright. Distracting the feral goblin girl with a few scraps of rabbit meat - which heÔÇÖd caught just for that purpose - Punches had helped the others remove the chicken from the boat before casting off. Waving good bye to the (very small) crowd which had gathered to see them off, Punches had settled in for the journey.
He had mixed feelings over the whole thing. On the one hand, he was finally getting a chance to prove himself - a real war camp, with real battles and everything! On the other, he was stuck on guard duty, looking after a beast girl who would probably end up getting herself killed in five minutes.
This was ridiculous - he was a warrior, not a freaking babysitter.......!

By the time the girl - Snaps? - had finished with the rabbit, the boat was already out of sight of the village, and picking up speed. She had whined a bit, staying as close to the centre of the boat as possible so as to avoid the water, but had eventually settled down at the prow, sharp eyes scanning the water and nearby trees.
The river was moving faster than normal, with branches and mud washed downstream turning the normally serene water into a turbulent obstacle course. But it wasnÔÇÖt anything Punches hadnÔÇÖt seen before - as long as they didnÔÇÖt rock the boat too much, and no one fell in, everything would be fine.
Predictably, it was then that Snaps saw a small family of rabbits at the side of the riverbank.

Growling, she leant forward, her weight causing the narrow watercraft to list dangerously to the side. Cursing, Punches leant in the opposite direction to balance it out.

"Hey, knock it off."

No response. Of course.

"I said, stop it."

Acting on instinct, he grabbed for the back of the girlÔÇÖs shirt, aiming to pull her back into the centre of the boat. He realised too late how that was a mistake.

Teeth bared, growling deeply, the girl started to struggle, trying to pull herself out of his grip. Determined not to let go, Punches tried to force her down - her struggling was making the boat rock even more than before. No crazy girl was going to capsize his boat. And nothing was going to make him let go, either.
The nails that raked his face said otherwise.

Gasping in pain and shock, Punches loosened his grip, raising his hands in defence - he was completely unprepared for the bare foot that hit him in the chest, forcing him backwards and into the water.

Why me.........?

Kicking to the surface, Punches gasped for air. The safety rope around his waist jerked him forward, the five metre line growing taught. Latching onto sodden rope, the soaked goblin began to pull himself along, until, exhausted, he reached craft.
The girl was still at the front. Only now, she was watching him.

"Heh.....so much for the 'badass warrior'. Getting my backside kicked by a girl......."

......yip

There she sat again in her most peculiar, doglike way, her arms outstretched and her hands, resting flat on the floor of the little boat, bordered by her feet while her knees were all bent and amply tilted to the sides.
She was watching him closely, but with a very innocent, almost vacant expression in her eyes, as if she was completely oblivious to the fact why he was in the river, her tongue all stuck out again and panting in a content and casual kind of way.

"Are you mocking me?" grumbled Punches, his upper body already inside the small wooden vessel, his arms hanging over the rim. Snaps closed her mouth, tilted her head and then shifted her weight more to her arms, and slowly approached him. "Oh boy, what now? I can't even dodge." Punches thought, having to hold tightly onto the side planks in order not to get swept away by some current. From the corner of his eye he saw how Snaps opened her mouth, which was already far too close to his head for his comfort, especially after getting clawed by this crazy goblin just before.
He felt her hot breath on his face and then her teeth fastened ... around his sleeve and with a gentle, but surprisingly strong pull Snaps tried to haul Punches into the boat, backing up slowly.

Punches wouldn't admit that in a hurry, but Snaps' effort turned out to be really helpful, especially when he had to get his legs over the rim, while the boat was bobbing up and down on the river waves. "So first you knock me into the water and then you pull me out? What's the big idea?" Punches asked, nonplussed.

Snaps didn't pay any attention to his words, much less give a reply, but started to sniff all over him, as soon as he was out of the water, and, finding him dripping wet, started to lick the water off his hand. "Thanks, but trying to dry me with your wet tongue isn't exactly going to work out too well, besides, I think that I prefer river water to your saliva."

The tree warriors, who had watched the scene with stunned bafflement, now broke out in hysterical laughter. "I can't believe she actually had to pull Punches back into the boat, now that was a sight for sore eyes!" crowed one of them. "That must have been a damn tasty rabbit you got for her. Or did you drug the meat with something?" hooted another. "She really seems to like you Punches, licking your hands like that, after marking you as her own with her claws. I didn't know you preferred your girl friends howling mad!" the last one jeered.

Reflexively, Punches pulled his hand out of Snaps' reach, muttering "Cut that out already."
In a most likely futile attempt to calm himself, if only to give him something else to do instead of exploding right away, Punches turned around to Makes-Stupid-Faces, who had made that last remark, and asked in a low, dark voice: "You wanna run that by me again?"

Instantly sobered up by the tone of Punches' voice the other two fell silent and nonchalantly turned their attention to steering and rowing the boat as inconspicuously as possible.
But Faces, still absolutely drunk from the laughing fit he got himself into, was ignorant to the fine aural warning signal as well as the dangerous glint in Punches' eyes and thusly made the fatal mistake of mocking Punches further. "What's the matter, you got some of the mutt girl's saliva in your ears? I said: 'I didn't know you liked your girl friends-'"

Ka-CRACK

With a sickening crunch Punches' knuckles connected with Faces' face.

"My ears work just fine, thank you for asking. As does my fist. But it looks like your nose could do with a make-over." Punches stated matter-of-factly, when the red wall in front of his eyes slowly subsided.

Snaps had let out a tiny little whelp when the punch had broken Faces' nose and now lay down rolled into a ball, huddled as close to the side boards of the boat as possible, and tried to make herself even smaller, her head resting on her forearms, her ear tips visibly lowered and her eyes looking up in a submissive demeanor, when Punches approached her.

Meanwhile the other warriors quickly checked out the situation and only when they deemed it safe to do so, provided Faces some first aid. "Dang it man, you knew he could be trouble, why didn't you just shut your big fat mouth? Now what are we going to tell Chief Appears?" - "Ow. Mbatch id, I sdill beed to bweaf frough dad lader.(*)" - "You think you're in pain now? Wait until your mother hears about this..."

(* "Ow. Watch it, I still need to breathe through that later")

Punches sat down near the bow, where Snaps had retreated to and watched the scene with a far away look in his eyes, not really seeing what was going on, as if all of this was happening to somebody else. Without him noticing, Punches' hand had found Snaps head, and absentmindedly he started fondling her behind her ears, which instantly went up a few notches. Even though he was completely oblivious to it, it gradually made him feel so much better.

The warriors, at some point, must have taken notice of this, but they'd sooner have bitten their tongues off and swallowed them than to say another word in that matter.

The rest of the journey was rather uneventful, except for a few more involuntary baths on the second day, when Snaps accidentally keeled over the boat by jumping off to chase after some ducks that had flown by just inches from her nose. She was gone the whole night, but she must have managed to catch something, judging by her blood on her clothes when they finally found her the next morning, contently napping in a sun lit spot, curled up into a ball again, though this time a much looser one.

Using the chicken in the wooden cage as a lure they had little trouble guiding her back into the boat and continued their trek to the war camp.

It was a bright morning, though some clouds were in the sky. But they did rather spend some shadow than bring rain. Should be a nice day one of the oarsman thought. "Hey, I can see the lake!" he yelled when the boat slowly drove along a river bend. "We are nearly there!"

Turn 73

Turn 73
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

The goblins rise with dawn, except for Grace who got a very crazy and disturbing dream which made her break out in a sweat. She dreams of an armada of ships rowing and sailing over the lake, towards their war camp. But suddenly the sun gets brighter and brighter, but when she turns around, it is not the sun. A large black and red goblin, the size of a giant stands behind the war camp, his fiery eyes emitting huge flames and a scorching heat. A smell of brimstone und cinder lies in the air.
When the ships get closer, they start shooting at the goblins, but suddenly the giant goblin opens his mouth and shooting a pillar of black flames at the ships which instantly turn them to smoke and make the water boil. But suddenly it is not the face of the goblin anymore, it is Grace's face, though the skins still is black and red. And the pillar of flames is not emitted by her mouth, but by a giant red flute she is playing on, flying out of it whenever she plays a tone. Surreal and terrifying music fills the air and fills her heart with fear, even if she is the one who makes it. The hostile fleet turns away, but most of it is already burning. Grace feels like the earth is melting and she will sink into the liquid stone.
Suddenly, Grace wakes up, soaked in sweat and nearly screams until she noticed that the force which seemed to pull her down in her dream was Age's hand, trying to awake her.
"Everything ok?" she asks. "You wanted to join me on identifying the items and I wanted to start now. Maybe you should hop into the lake to wash away the leftover of your nightmare."
Age starts to put all the items onto a free table and waits until Grace comes back.

At the lakeside Grace meets most of the other goblins, who take a look on the other side of the lake. They see that the humans are busy with wood and rope around the boathouse, but yet there is no vessel visible on the lake.
"It's about time we take care of the bodies" Grace says to no one in particular.
"I will do it. After all the nice loot the brought to us, we owe it to them!" Wants jokes. "I will help you." Bones says who already got a hoe and shovel since he wanted to do some gardening.
When the dead adventurers are mentioned, Flies remembers the dead elf who lies close to her hut. She runs over and loots him after checking the sky for birds. Not a single one up there - strange. She returns to cut down the bushes and is done very quickly since she only needed one more stack of sticks. She takes them over to Thumbs and his crew.
After a while Wants and Bones are done and the corpses are buried in the woods close to the camp, but not where the dead goblins were buried. That would not be the right thing to do and dishonour the dead.

"Yawn...Well...Nauhir, do you want to go try to hunt something for food or help building huts?" Walks asks of his companion, indicating the forest or the huts. Nauhir walks over to the huts and starts moving sticks from the stacks Flies gathered to Walks and Thumbs. Seems like Nauhir understood perfectly what Walks said to him.

When Grace washes herself, she notices that the tip of her right forefinger has turned black, like bruises from crushing it under a heavy stone or in a door. But it does not hurt and cannot be washed away. Irritated she returns to Age to learn how to identify items, not mentioning the fingertip for now. She learns that most of it is done by comparing colours, taste, viscosity and smell to potions you already know.

Tinkers goes to find Appears and asking him, "Chief, what are your orders for me today?"
"Didn't you want to repair that cart?"
"Hmm...right." Tinkers answers and goes back to the cart in front of the new hut. Wants is already busy repairing it, but not very successful. Tinkers, who got some experience with mechanics helps him, and together the fix it very fast. Now they got a fully functional new wooden cart with metal parts and wheels.

Cowers wakes up (considerably more peacefully than yesterday). After she stepped outside and spend a little time to look around without noticing a direct threat, she takes a look for a good hiding place to shoot from once the attack comes.
She runs into a yawning Coats, who is busy moving some planks to the tree she would have selected as her shooting hideout. She remembers what he suggested yesterday and helps him build the archer stand. Together the manage to build one platform this turn, but Coats wants to build more, since they got more than one archer.

Thumbs and his crew are done with the second hut very fast, since there was not much left to do after yesterday except for the roof and some planks for the walls. Just in time, since a fisherman spots a boat coming down the river and runs around, announcing the arrival of the reinforcements. They start moving their equipment into the storage now they are done.

Appears welcomes them, and shortly after that Age joins in, too, followed by Grace. The chief is very surprised that it is only two persons and a little bit angry.
"We were promised some real reinforcement more by the councillor!" he complains to the three goblins still in the boat.
"Don' thin' thads them.." a goblin with a broken nose starts, but stops when another one takes over. "What he wants to say - We are sure that is not the reinforcements you were promised. We met the boat with the councillor on our way here, he did not even reach the town before we took of. These two are some give-away reinforcements." he starts to whisper now, so only the three goblins in the boat, Appears, Age, Grace, Punches and Snaps can her him. "I did not say that but - the big chief wants them alive, and they are saver here than at home, since they are- " he looks to Punches and adds cautiously "-special. Caused some problems, but the Big chief likes them, so take care of them. I really hope this works out."
Chief appears understands and nods, while Punches grumbles a little bit. Snaps sits on the jetty and got only eyes for the fish below, not really understanding what is going on, until somebody takes away the precious chicken and the boat is to far away to jump.
"Let's get you some equipment and a tour around the camp, though we have to be quick since we are very busy. But you could not have come at a better time." Appears says and signalizes Punches and Snaps to follow him to the storage, after he noticed they got only leather clothes and nothing else, except a small knife on Punches belt. (This is your starting gear).
Age and Grace return to the tellers hut to continue the identifying, after Age gave a bandage with healing salve to the goblin with the broken nose.

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Punches follows Appears to the storage.
"So, we can just take whatever we want from here, right? Ok then......" Punches says and starts collecting items from the storage.
"No, just take what you need. We try to keep the tools in the storage so anybody who needs them can find them. Also there is a battle ahead, so I suggest you only take what you need to fight for now."
Appears takes away the flint, the oil lamp and the stonemason tools from Punches, but hands him a leather armor. "You will have more use for that soon than for the hammer and chisel."
Punches picks up the medium sized handaxe, which is a greataxe for a goblin. It will not be that easy to hit, but if it his it will do much damage. He finally picks up another knife for Snaps, who is unarmed at the moment.
After thanking Appears, Punches leaves the storage with his new stuff.

Grace is still shaken up after her dream, but the fear is slowly replaced with curiosity. She continues the identifying with Age, hiding her fingertip from the teller. After a while and when they are nearly done, the curiosity takes over and she excuses herself, and starts moving her things to her new hut. "I.. I should go and make myself at home in the new hut. And get to know the new girl." "At least you have the decency to tell me this time." Age jokes. "It's no problem, I can do those few items myself."
Grace is kind of disappointed that she'll not be living with Age, but with that strange new goblin, but she doesn't let it show. "I'll just grab my stuff." She takes the trommel basket, the quiver and bow, the knife, her herb index, and the flute and goes to her new hut. She sits down and prays. "Oh, Maglubiyet, what does this dream mean? When I wake up my fingertip is black. Is it bad? I think the flute might play a part in it..." She looks at the flute and her finger.. I wonder... She plays on the flute, just using her black fingertip. She feels that she got better in playing the flute over night and has advanced much compared to the discordance she produced just yesterday, but else nothing special happens.

"Hmm...Not very complicated, but still, nice to get to tinker with something." Tinkers gathers up the remaining tools they used on the cart and returns them to the storage. He then goes to Age's hut and says to Age, "Good day Age. I still feel guilty for losing that woman. Is there anything I can do to help the camp and make amends for my failure?"
"Stop talking about your failure. There was none. We allowed her to go away. It was good you wanted to keep an eye on here, but you had not to do it. Something optional and not necessary cannot end with a failure. So calm down and prepare yourself for the oncoming battle. Maybe put some camouflage paint on or something like that." Age shoos Tinkers away although she appreciates his sense of duty. "I got some items to identify."

"No birds at all?" Flies mutters to herself "Today is going to be strange."
She walks over to where the rest of the loot is being kept, absentmindedly twirling the bracelet with her fingers, after dropping off the stuff she has no use for. Then she spots Snaps trying to play with Nauhir. But he seems to be confused by her and reacts rather cool. He licks her face, but thats all he does. Instead of starting to play with her and he continues to follow Walks, looking at Snaps only from time to time.
Flies stands staring at the newcomer for a few seconds before looking up at the sky again "Thanks for the warning!" she mutters.
"Who is that?" She mutters to herself, completely forgetting about the bracelet and stopping to twirl it, causing it to settle on her wrist. "What is she doing?"
"Trying to play with Walks wolf..." Coats says to Flies as he walks up hot and sweaty from dragging planks about.
Flies jumps, startled by Coats sudden appearance.
"Doesn't look like she's gonna be much help when the humans come a knocking...Hope the other goblins are more useful than a feral she beast..." he says and looks around.
Punches overhears this and says "Don't worry, I'm focused enough for the two of us. And she'll be fine, once we get her pointed in the right direct woah! .......and I thought I was big."
Extending his hand to the two of them, he quickly gets over the surprise at seeing Coat's size.
"I'm Punches. Punches Faces. And that's Snaps at Ankles, or Snaps for short. Anyway, like I was saying, you'll be able to count on us in a fight.....well, on me, at least. Which I'm guessing we'll be experiencing quite soon, judging from your talk of humans. And those bodies over there. What did we miss?"
Flies shakes Punches hand.
"My name is Flies with Hawks. A group of bandits attacked the village while chaseing a human woman. I don't know all the details so ask Tinkers or the chief about it if you want to know more."
"I'm Wears-A-Coat, you can thank the teller for my size. Punches-Faces eh? Sounds like you'll at least be decent in a fight." He says taking giving him a firm handshake.
"So tell me the deal with her. Is she gonna be any use to us or did she just get dumped on us"
"The teller? So, I'm guessing magic gone wrong......or, gone right, maybe?"

"As for Snaps, well......I've only really gotten to know her over the boat ride, so I'm not really the best judge of her character. The only one who really knew her was Patient-like-a-Tree, and she's dead now. What I do know goes like this: raised by wolves in the wild or something -> adopted by Patient-like-a-Tree after she stole some chickens and the owners wanted to kill her -> raised by Patient for a few years -> sent here after Patient's death. Not much more complicated then that."

"We'll probably find some use for her though - she's fast, and agile. Not a bad swimmer, either. If we could train her to listen to us, and draw pictures, or something, maybe she could be a scout? Just as long as there are no birds or rabbits to distract her........."
Cowers spies the newcomers. She gives gobdoggy a very wide berth and creeps towards Punches Faces, listening in on Coats and Punches conversation while trying not to make her presence known.
Noticing Cowers lurking nearby; "Er....can I help you?"
Cowers squeaks slightly at being noticed. "Oh! Um, um... Hi." Cowers says, looking extremely nervous. "I... I'm Cowers. Cowers in Shadow. Y-you're Punches Faces, r-right? I-I overheard you t-talking. It's... It's n-nice to m-meet you." Cowers takes a shaky step forward and offers her hand for a shake. "A-although I-I thought we were getting m-more reinforcements t-than just t-two goblins..."
Slightly amused by her timidness, Punches takes the offered hand.
"Yeah, we're more late arrivals than reinforcements. The councillor guy hadn't even made it back by the time we set off, so I'm not really sure how that's all working out."

Punches turns to Coats "Anyway; you look like you're building or something. Anything I can do to help? In fact, what were you planning on doing with this corpse? Burying it, I suppose?"
"I'm gonna see about putting another stand. Than I'll talk to chief about doing some battle training. You should join us."
"That sounds like a good idea." Flies responds, not taking her eyes off Snaps.
Coats continues "About the bodies - bury them, chop em up, make soup out of them...I don't care and so does most of the village. Bones started to bury them, but seems he missed this one."
With that the big goblin walks off to see if he can put up another tree stand, followed by Flies who looks for the chief and finds him, already putting some of the goblins into groups of two to train for the combat.
Walks, Cowers, Punches and Snaps remain.
"I don't think I would like the soup part. It's not Cannibalism, but it's pretty close. I'm WalksBrisky and this is Nauhir." Walks says, holding out one hand and gesturing the other at Nauhir. "We went exploring across the lake at the old orc village and ran across some mercs working for an adventurer. Apparently there's something over there they want. Those dead guys were some of the adventurers, but we managed to get them all. At least I think. Everybody else from them is over there ransacking the village. We think they may try to cross soon." Walks the follows Coats to help him build the second plattform.
"O...k.......well, if we're going to be attacked soon, it might be better to just put them somewhere out of the way. So......."
Punches walks over to the and starts dragging it over to the edge of the forest in the southwest. When she sees Punches drag a body around, Snaps halts so suddenly in mid-play that Nauhir stubs his nose on the side of her head and gives off a little whine. Snaps barks and runs to Punches on all fours, a flailing mass of arms and legs, but ludicrously effective. She fastens her teeth around some sleeve or collar or some other piece of cloth on the corpse and starts to pull in the opposite direction.
"Oh for crying out..........no, stop that! Bad girl! Bad woah!
thump
".......ow."
Picking himself up off the ground, Punches dusts his clothes off, while keeping a wary eye on the now motionless wolf-girl.
"Hmm........"
He reaches for the body: so does she.
He pulls his hand back: she pulls her head back.
He sits down: she sits.
He walks backwards: she follows him.
He throws a stick: she chases it.
"Heh....that ought to keep her occupied for a bit. Now, back to this........"
Snaps, delighted that Punches threw the stick, runs after it and brings it back to him, excitement and sheer joy radiating from her eyes as she drops it in front of his feet. "Ruff!" she barks and Punches is quite sure that if she had a tail, it would be wagging like crazy. Snaps sits down in front of Punches looks at him expectantly.
Punches throws the stick whenever she brings it back to get buy himself some time to draw the corpse.
"....I can see we have some interesting times ahead of us.." Coats says watching Snaps and Punches, while sitting in a tree with Walks, busy building a archer plattform.
"I wonder if she'll chase after a javelin and bring it back after I've stuck it in someone..." Walks answers.
Cowers stares at the spectacle of Snaps and Punches. "I feel normal all of a sudden." she mumbles to Wants who just stands there with big eyes, staring at the spectacle and wondering why the big chief send all the nutjobs to this camp.
As Punches proceeds to throw the stick for Snaps, she gets increasingly excited about this, and runs ever faster, sometimes jumping to snatch the stick right out of the air.
At some point, Punches fumbles and the throw goes much further than before, the stick flying in Cowers' direction. Snaps, her eyes fixated on the piece of wood, jumps up again, throwing herself around in mid-air to catch it and happens to bump butt-first into Cowers, knocking the goblin to the ground. Snaps yelps a little bit on impact (more to express that she is sorry than to indicate she got hurt - which she didn't get), and hurriedly scrambles back onto her hands and feet.
Snaps quickly turns around and sniffs all over Cowers, starting at her hips, over her abdomen, across her thorax and finally towards her face, Snaps'' nose mere inches from Cowers' own. Suddenly, Cowers feels Snaps' warm, wet tongue lick gently over her cheek.

Cowers yelps as she gets knocked over... and then starts getting panicky once she realizes Snaps has her face inches away from her own. "AAAH!" She yells. "Back! Back!" Panicked, Cowers rapidly starts scuttling away from Snaps, staggering to her feet and retreating behind Coats. She then runs and retreats to her archer platform, scuttling up onto it and hopefully out of reach of Snaps.
Spooked by Cowers' screaming, Snaps flinches tremendously. Her ears flatten against her skull somewhat, she arches her back and lowers her head instinctively, as she turns on her heels. Kicking up dirt in her hurry to get away from the originator of the yells as fast as possible, Snaps bolts off in the opposite direction that Cowers is scuttling in and disappears from sight in a nearby bush. From the amount of noise that can be heard, it becomes quite clear that she doesn't stop there, but continues her expeditious retreat through the underbrushes, further into the wood.

Age who just left her hut with a crate of potions and items, cannot help to laugh at that scene.

After Cowers calms down a bit and sees that Snaps doesn't follow her, Cowers looks out from on top of her new shooting perch, using her sharp eyes to look out out across the lake and see if she can spot any activity happening at the orc ruins.
She notices that the humans are moving large wooden objects to the lakeside at the boathouse. Seems they nearly finished constructing their rafts and will put them into the water soon.

When Punches is done hiding the last corpse in the forest, he walks back to help Coats and Walks with building another archer plattform. Together they are fast enough to not only finish a second one, they even get a third one done.

"Cowers, come down, I got something for you!" Age yells. "Everybody come over here, I am done identifying all the potions and stuff. This might give us a good head start in the fight!"
Appears and the goblins training with him walk over to Age, so does nearly everybody.
When the goblins gathered around her, Age explains what the items are.
"The phials filled with black liquid is some kind of a liquid darkness. If you break it, all light from that area will be gone for about a minute. The amulet give +1 DEF, we should give it to somebody who really needs it." she winks at Grace and gives it to her.
"What else do I have? A, two rings. One makes you stronger, the other one faster." She hands them around. "I also found three more healing potions, one of them even a medium one. Maybe somebody wants to be medic?" She asks. "Cowers, two of those vials are weapon oil. Please share it with the other archers. One bottle is enough to add fire damage to about fifty arrows, so it should be enough to everybody. Even Punches dwarven bread." she jokes. "This will become a warm welcome for those wooden rafts the rigged up."
She takes a look in the crate, which is nearly empty now.
"I got two more potions I could not identify. Somebody wants to risk something?"
"The best part are the scrolls, two of them are resurrection scrolls. I will keep those. But do not take that as a invitation to die, don't you dare!" she yells.
"Appears, this one is for you. It's a summon monster IV spell and very powerful. I will leave it to you to destine for what and when we use it."
"I'll make good use of it, be sure!" Appears promises.
"I put the other stuff in the storage. The map only showed the orc town, the letter that they were searching a relict, which they did not describe. Not much use for them. Then there was a map, but I had not enough time to look at it yet. The books are a mage book and a paladin book, if somebody wants to take levels, but that will have to wait."

1 long bow (medium) (15 g)

Traits:
Coats:

Quest:
- defend the warcamp against the oncoming attack

Anti-Confusion-Information:
@New players: medium size armor is too large for goblins to use except for Poor and Coats. Some single handed medium size weapons can be used, but may become two-handed that way. Medium size weapons which are already two-handed will not be wieldable by a goblin.
The default weapon and armor size for goblins is 'small'.
@All: The +ATK value shows how easy it to hit your enemy with that weapon. It is not the damage value of the weapon. The damage is diced and nearly the same for most weapons, so do not care about that. Some heavy weapons deal more damage, but you cannot hit with them as easily, while very small ones might hit very easily but do not much damage. But it's more about skills and training and favourite weapons, which increases the damage much more than using another weapon might. Just take a look at Tinkers and his daggers/knives which are the least powerful weapons without training.
@Grace: remember you still got four potions from the first identifying: enlarge person, reduce person, cure poison (5/5 uses) and haste. Maybe you want to give some of them to somebody else.
@All: It was so much text and organisation to put everything in order, I hope it worked. If I missed something, please accept it the way I posted it.

Grace takes the amulet from Age and puts it on. "Thanks Age. Uhm.. I'd like to be the medic. I'm really not much of a fighter. I can take the medium healing potion, but I can't help everybody at the same time, and if I'm taken out we need others with potions." "Yes, I did plan to do that. We already got two medics, but one was killed in the last attack before you came, so I was looking for a new one to replace him. Congrats, you got the job, Grace!" Age says and hands her one of the medium healing potions. She gives the other medium size one to one of the gardeners, while she hands three of the small potions and the opened one to one of the hunters. She also gives each of them four bandages, which leaves none in the storage.
Grace puts the healing potion in her backpack so she can reach it easily, the she hands out the other potions.
First she adresses Punches "You seem like quite a fighter - I think you can make good use of this enlarge person potion. We weren't properly introduced before, I'm Grace" she says and smiles.
"Thanks. Nice to meet you, I'm Punches."
After a second he adds. "You guys can keep the rest of this stuff - I wasn't even here when you earned it. Though, if nobody else wants to risk it, I'll test out one of those mystery potions for you. After I've found the crazy wolf-girl, that is........"
With that, he moves into the forest where he starts to shout out Snaps' name, while keeping an eye out for ambushes (both hostile and friendly).
Then Grace turns to Cowers "If you need to hide or get away this can be good. It's a potion of diminish person."
She keeps the other two potions, haste and cure poison, so that she can take care of more people in need and cure poison.
Cowers accepts the potion of Diminish Person from Grace. "Thanks. This... th-this won't be permanent like what happened to Coats, right?" She asks with a nervous chuckle.
"Grace, not knowing if it does or not, shrugs her shoulders.
Cowers quickly runs into her hut and nabs her healing potion. She then runs back to her archer platform and takes position, taking out her crossbow, loading a quarrel, and taking aim at the lake. She notices that some of the wood has been placed on the lakeside and that the humans are starting to rig up some rigging and sails to the large rafts, but also some oars.

Flies says "I would like to volunteer to take one of the random potions, could I get a small healing potion in case the random one is dangerous. I also think that I should take the ring to increase my attack then I can be our heavy hitter if an enemy has a lot of armour."
Age hands both items to Flies "Here you go. But there is no healing potion left."
"Thanks. I also think we should have designated groups so that no-one gets separated. For example I could give someone my javelins and fight up close while Cowers covers me with her bow. It would also help ensure that every group has a healing potion."
"We always fight in groups, we are goblins. Mass out the enemy is our default battle plan. But in such a large battle it gets chaotic very fast and very detailed battle plans like fixed groups will only work out until the first enemy contact. We try to have the melees stick together in groups and to have some ranged fighters behind them anyway. But it does not make sense to put somebody on the platforms into a group with somebody on the ground. You stick with whomever is around at a given time . The archers up there will lose sight of their group and their group will not be able to help them except from keeping people from climbing the trees. So we better let those people fight together who will end up fighting together. So if you want a group, grab yourself some melees."
Flies nods and walks away to stand down by the lake and keep watch. Seems she is thinking about the chiefs lesson about battle tactics.

"Oh, I need to get more bandages!" Grace says and hurries to the storage, walking very briskly, to grabs seven more bandages. When she comes back she gives four of them to Age and keeps the rest.
"Let's go and drench them in the new salve, they will do more good that way." Age says. "And grab the bandages of the others two, you can hand them back when we soaked them in salve."
Grace walks around to collect the other bandages - three from Cowers, two from Wants, four from Punches. A few moments later she hands them back, soaked in healing salve.

Examining the items, Tinkers says "Hmm...as long as there are no objections, I'll take the ring of speed.".
"Hmm...I would like the Ring of Speed as well..." Walks sais, then has and Idea and grabs a coin. "Let's flip for it. You heads, me tails."
He spins the coin.
"Heads! Alright, you get it, Tinker. I will test the remaining random potion, however." he picks it up carefully and take a miniscule sip, then set it down and wait for the effects to appear. But nothing happens.
"What to do, what to do?" wants asks himself and he walks around the camp for a bit
"When will those stupid humans get here, I'm bored!"
Tinkers puts on the ring and notices that he can walk and sneak a little bit faster, as if some of his bodies' weight is omitted, while his muscles had still their full strength. He tries to jump higher, but he does not succeed.

Cowers accepts the vials of weapon oil. "Um... so is this oil I have to ignite, or does it catch fire by itself?" "You will cover the arrows in it, and it will add fire damage when the arrow hit's. Else you would end up with a burning bow. Not sure how it works, but it works."
She demonstrates this by dripping a drop of the oil on a pebble, which she then tosses into the grass far away. A small pitch of grass starts to burn for a few seconds.
Amazed, Cowers says to Appears and Age, "I took a look across the lake. It looks like the humans have rafts and are about to attack."
"How long do you think they will take? Will it be today or will take require another night?"
"I guess today."
"Then today it is." Age answers.
"I will start to have the warriors train and warm themselves up." Appears says, and starts to gather the melees. He also orders two archers on each platform, one of them being Cowers.
"Bones, I got a special duty for you and Poor. Set up some oil traps the archers can set on fire on my command. You're experienced to not put them too close to a hut. Would be nice to still have a bed to sleep in tonight. Or a body to sleep with."
Bones whistles and Poor comes over. They start digging some small holes they fill with mud and water, so the oil does not trickle away into the ground, then they start pouring oil out of the large barrel into those holes.

Coats would have liked to take the attack bonus ring too, but Flies was faster. So he walks over to the chief when he gathers the goblins to warm up and asks him what else to do. "Either you can set up more of those platforms - which I think would be a good idea, or you can join us in some melee training and warm up." Appears tells him, before he heads of with some of the other goblins. They gather in groups of two and start to train. Not very hard, since they don't want to hurt each other or wear themselves out, but enough to get them warmed up before the battle starts.

Wants in the meantime, comes up with a backup plan. He walks over to the storage room and starts to pack the cart with some emergency equipment. He takes two tents, a couple of bedrolls, a oil lamp and some food, some water, two backpacks, a knife, and the fifty meters of rope. Then he pulls the cart outside of the camp and hides it in the bushes, covering it with sticks, branches and leaves so the adventures won't see it's there.

After running through the underbrush for a while and not being persecuted, Snaps feels safe enough to slow down a bit, and finally stop. She stands perfectly still, holding her head high up in the air and sniffing for any interesting scents. She also keeps her eyes and ears open for anything other than trees. She hears and smells many of them, but does not see any, except for Punches whom she hears shouting her name and getting closer.
She slowly and cautiously trots in his direction, but stays out of sight, inside a bush or so, because she made Cowers scream like all hell broke loose and is fearful of possible consequences.

Items:
Cowers, Grace, Wants, Punches:
bandages => bandages with healing salve
Cowers:
1 potion of reduce person
Flies:
1 ring +1 ATK
1 random potion
Grace:
1 medium healing potion (20/20 hp)
Punches:
1 potion of enlarge person
Tinkers:
1 ring +1 speed
Walks:
1 random potion

Anti-Confusion-Information:
@Jacon: If Coats wanted to build another plattform, I will retroactively add it.
@All: I will update your inventory and stats in the second post directly after this post. Please have a look, maybe there are some items you don't want to take with you into the fight (e.g. a trommel basket and herbal index).

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Outside, in the forest east of the camp:
"There you are. Stop messing around and follow me - we need to get ready if there's going to be fighting soon."
".........if you come now, I'll catch you another rabbit later....."
"Deal?"

When she sees that Punches isn't angry with her, Snaps sits casually down before Punches again, with the same happy, slightly vacant expression in her eyes and pants happily once more, with her tongue stuck out. As he speaks she tilts her head and looks at him inquiringly. When he mentions the word "rabbit" her attention peaks, her ears raise visibly and she looks expectantly at his hands. When she sees nothing in there, she huffs disappointedly.
But she follows him back into the warcamp when he heads back. Since Cowers is already on her platform, the chances are good she won't run away again.

Grace goes to her hut and grabs her knife, her bow and quiver to go with the bandages and potions. She leaves everything behind, which will not help her in a fight. Actually, she is not sure about the flute. Something with it is special. Well, she leaves it behind for now. Once she is out of her hut, she sees the solemn preparations. There is a lot of tension in the air and it causes Grace to shiver. Some preparations still needs to be done. But on a different level than sharpening swords. She prays. "Maglubiyet, today is a day of need. Many Goblin lives are at stake, but we are devoted and we will stand victorious. Give us the wit to outsmart our foes, give us the strength to rise when we fall, give us the courage to risk our lives to save our fellow goblin friends. Sharpen our blades and our hearts, and we shall succeed." She takes her knife and cuts into her black fingertip. She smears the blood under her eyes. Soon it will be time. The blood is red, but it dries very fast and leaves black lines under her eyes. It looks very threatening.
After Cowers shares the Burnoil with the archers, some of the climb up onto the platforms.

Wants wants to start a little experiment, he takes one of the vials from the storage and fills it with water, he walks over to the barrel of lamp oil to see if it flows on top of the water or if it dissolves. But where is the barrel of oil? Since he cannot find it, he goes to the chief and explains his plan, who is busy training and warming up with the other melees.

"Chief I have a plan , but IÔÇÖll need oil lots of oil."
"Most of it is poured into fire traps by Bones and Poor as we speak, but go on." the chief answers, not stopping to fight with his training partner.
"The humans are coming with wooden rafts. If we pour the oil into the lake it will for a large oil spot, once the humans sail into the oil we shoot burning arrows at it the oil will start burning, turning the lake into a burning death trap. If we don't do this were going to die!" Wants voice gets louder and more thrilled while he speaks, so he is yelling out the last words.
The chief smiles. At a closer look, it looks like he tries hard not to laugh.
"Wants, I really appreciate it when people come up with plans and I encourage them to think for themselves, since sometimes good ideas come up, like Coats and his archer platforms, but ... erm ... well, this is not one of those times. Well, you may have noticed the river running through the lake and the waterfall on the other side? The current may not be strong at the lakesides, but it is enough to make your plan fail. The oil would have been long gone before they could reach it, except if you tried to pour it right in their face. Also, we would have had far to little oil anyway.
"Those humans out number us, have better stuff, and a taste for goblin blood, we're a bunch of failed warriors-" Walks flips out and tries to attack the chief, but he is faster and slaps Wants on his cheek with the back of his hand. The dazzled Walks falls down on his butt.
"Isn't such panic-strocken behaviour Cowers job normally?" The chief says, trying to calm down Wants. "We. Will. Not. Die. That. Easily! When the seven adventurers attacked, we beat them with only a fraction of our forces, and we were unprepared and unorganized, but nonetheless most of us had not even time to join the battle since it was over too fast. We made them run! We. Made. Adventurers. Run. Walks. Run! This time it is all of us and we are prepared. So fight your fear down like everybody else and don't spread panic."
Cowers, sitting on a archer platform, takes some calming breaths to keep her aim steady. When she hears Asks yelling at the Chief, she yells at him, "h-HEY! S-SOME OF US A-ARE T-TRYING TO STAY C-CALM OVER HERE!" She takes a breath, then adds, "B-besides, the position for p-panicky goblin in th-this camp has al-lready been filled!" She chuckles slightly at her own minor humor in an attempt to keep her cool.
Flies helps Wants up again and dragging him away from the group a little bit.
"Calm down we're all on edge, there is no need to take it out on the chief, he knows what he's doing."

After the scene is over, the goblins return to warm up training.
Tinkers joins the group and asks the chief if there is somebody left he could train with.
"If you want I could train with you for a bit, it would be a welcome distraction from all this waiting." Flies offers.
Tinkers agrees, and so they start the warmup.
Punches, who just arrived, overheared Tinkers question to the Chief.
"If you're looking for a sparing partner, I'd be happy to help. We should probably try to be careful though - getting hurt this close to a direct attack would be a dumb thing to do."
"Hmm...I suppose fighting two adversaries might be more beneficial then one. Very well." Tinkers will lead Punches and Flies to an open space and they, begin practise. Tinkers fights with two normal daggers, so he won't blind any of his friends by accident. Punches trains more to defend himself with his large and slow greataxe, since he cannot really train attacking. The risk to hurt somebody is too large with such a weapon. Flies uses her spears' range to fight, while Tinkers tries to parry the attacks. He manages to parry some of Flies attacks, but the greataxe is far to heavy to be parried with a dagger. They all avoid hurting each other, but still the training gets them warmed-up. They feal ready for battle and more eager to fight now.

Walks and Coats warm themselves up in another way. They use the remaining time to set up archer platform number four in a yet unoccupied tree. They just climbed down, when a loud but also a little bit shaky voice announces the departure of the rafts.
"I-INCOMING!" Cowers yells as loud as she can, after she spotted that the enemy started to row or sail towards them.
The goblins stop training, and look for a good position to await the attack.
Cowers sees Appears running around, giving orders and pushing some goblins to other places and giving everybody a warm smile and a pat on their back. Age puts on her healer's bag and gives some advice to the medics. "Run when they don't look and be quick, try to drag those away which you cannot threat right away since there are enemies around. Don't risk yourself if you cannot help. Come back later and look for somebody else whom you can help."
Grace and the other two nod in agreement.
Cowers notices that the chief and some others walk into the water and hide below the jetty. She is very sure one of them was bright red. When she looks to the tree opposite to the one she is sitting in, she notices Bones sitting there, giving her a thumbs up and big grin. He got one arrow lose in his bow, another one readied between his teeth.

Turn 77
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Coats wants to join chief under the jetty, but his scale mail is to heavy to swim. So he goes back to hide behind a hut until it is time to charge.

"I'm not sure we've been properly introduced, but I'm Grace. You know, the girl who keeps running after Age." Grace says to the medics smirking and laughing. Then her face turn more grave. "Let us save those goblin lives who depend on us."

Wants is still angry, but better angry than in shock or freaking out. Being angry can even be helpful if a battle is ahead.
"I still hate you chief!" wants yells not knowing were he is, although the chief did already walk away and hide below the jetty with his group. Wants continues to rant, but slowly notices that the chief is not there to hear him.
"If anybody dies today it's going to be on you chief! Your lucky I love kicking human ass or I would have left this god forsaken place a long time ago..."

Grace is uneasy and her overhearing Wants doesn't make it better. It makes a dark fire of anger burning inside of her. She tries her best to suppress the feeling. She tells herself Wants is just misguided and nervous, but she can't help but doubt. The black blood below her eyes starts to move and surround her eye sockets, making her look even more fearsome. Dark trails on her cheeks remain, like if tears had washed away the blackness. But she does not notice it.
Grace readies and arrow and takes position where she is covered and takes a deep breath.

Coats turns around and grabs Wants by his collar.
"He is our chief and you will respect him even if you disagree with him...And if you attack him again I will personally rip your arms off..." He says in an even and calm voice before gently releasing him and turning back to watch the attackers.

Wants, still angry, walks to the storage and uses a piece of charcoal to put some war paint on. Two black lines below his eyes make him look more threatening, just like Grace.
He tries to find more healing potions, but finds none. Seems Age and the medics took them all. Well, doesn't really matter, since he already got one in his backpack. He heads back to the lake, ready for battle.

Before, getting into position, Punches heads over the Snaps and tries to get her to hold one of his spare daggers.
"Here, you'll need something to defend yourself with besides those teeth."
Snaps sniffs at the knifes Punches left her, and, after some time, takes the handle of one of them into her mouth, casually walks over to some bush or really tall grass that would hide her from sight and after turning around her own axis a few times, like any proper dog would, lays down and starts chewing at the handle with delight.
Punches shakes his head and moves over to the huts near the lake with a sigh.
Whether she takes it or not, he then moves over to the huts near the lake, positioning himself so that he has a clear view of the lake and pier, without being too exposed.

"Alright, Nauhir...This is gonna be a big battle...Can you try to take out any of those annoying short guys that get over here? I'll try to help with that, but they may need help with the bigger dudes." Walks asks, hiding in the doorway of one of the huts near the jetty.
Nauhir snarls and lower his head, baring his teeth. Then he lifts his nose into the air, trying to catch up a scent. He runs to Snaps and around her, his furr standing on end, his nose pointing to the lake. His teeth are bared, but not against her. His tail is high in the air and his ears are rised, too. He points with his nose towards the lake a few times, then he runs back and hides close to the hut were Walks is.

Flies crouches and runs towards the platform Cowers is standing on she then darts behind the nearest hut. She then readies a javelin and waits for some sort of signal to attack.

"Okay" she mutters to herself trying to keep calm "The Chief, Poor and some others are hiding below the jetty. Grace and Age are hanging back with the medics, Cowers is up in her platform so she should be safe, Walks has Nauhir to watch his back so he'll be fine, Coats is probably tougher than me so I don't need to worry about him, Wants is pretty tough too unless his little freakout there has inpaired his fighting ability, Tinkers has that magic dagger that blinds people-" She shivers at the thought "-and lastly the new guy seems to know how to handle that axe. So that just leaves Snaps, I'll have to keep an eye open for her in case she needs help."
She looks around but cannot spot Snaps.

Tinkers runs into the bushes just beside the lake, and hide himself in there. He also offers up a prayer to Bargrivyek, asking for protection for the clan.
Somebody else is praying to her god.
"Maglubiyet help me, here they come..." Cowers whispers fearfully on her platform. Bones on the other side, looks rather exited. Maybe that gift comes with age and surviving enough battles. The other archer on her platform looks rather stressed. "I would prefer a bear or a pack of wolves to that." he whispers and readies an arrow, too.

Slowly, the rafts are getting into shooting range with their sails, while the oarsmen are rowing to fight against the current. The largest raft looks familiar to the goblins. Oh, they did not really do that, didn't they? Those bloody humans really used to boathouse to create one giant raft. It looks very sturdy and massive. All the windows have been nailed shut with wooden planks. A large gate, looking like a draw-bridge is where the lakeside entrance once was. Another small wooden building, which been crafted into a larger raft too, is sailing behind the boathouse-raft. Smaller, more regular rafts and even a few small boats ride along.
The goblins can see only a handful of archers on deck of the vessels. But one of them looks very familiar to Cowers. Yes, it is Nina again. It does not look like they spotted any goblin yet, since they did not fire.

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Alarmed by Nauhir's behavior, Snaps drops the knife and follows him swiftly. When he halts near the lake she finds some spot to lay low and keeps sniffing the air constantly for enemies.
She happens to hide in the same bushes than Tinkers, who continues to pray while he waits for the enemy boats to approach.
Flies looks out at the small fleet of boats.
"Thats too many" she mutters to herself. "We can still beat them but they will make it into the village." Flies is still concerned about Snaps, but she can see that she follows Nauhir at least. Hopefully she is safer where she went, the huts block Flies view.

Grace looks around. The goblins are hidden, and they are ready. But there are many boats, and any big battle will end up with a lot of casualties. You don't need to experience that to know it.

"Come on...Closer...Into the Killzone..." WalksBriskly mutters, clenching his javelin, waiting for the humans to get close enough to attack, just like Flies, Coats, Wants and Punches. But they are not close enough for melee or javelins yet, but are coming into arrow range.

"Is this how it's going to be?" Cowers whispers mournfully, watching Nina. "With you forever chasing after me, haunting my every footstep?" Cowers carefully aims the crossbow at Nina.
When the vessels crosses the line which marks the limit of range of fire, the more experienced archers raise their bows and let their arrows fly. There is no command from anybody, just arrows flying silently. The less experienced archer's arrows follow only a split second later, including one crossbow quarrels.
But Cowers has not enough experience with the quarrels yet and the range is very far. It hits the roof of the boathouse-houseboat close before Nina's feet and starts a small fire.
Nina hisses and looks up into the trees, but the leaves give good cover, so she cannot spot the archers yet. But she readies her bow now, too. The arrows took a little bit longer to reach their targets. Seconds after the quarrel hit, they drop down out of the cloud filled sky with multiple sibilance. The guy next to Nina is not as lucky as she was, he gets hit by an arrow in his shoulder. The burn oil erupts into a small flame, which sets his hair and leather armor on fire. He screams and rolls to put it out. One arrow hits the sails of a small raft, three those of the second largest vessel, right behind the large boathouse-vessel. The arrows penetrate through the sails with ease, but the burn oil erupts into flames the moment they arrows hit, and sets the sails on fire. The people on the second large vessel run scared and try to extinguish the fire. Those of the smaller vessel do not care much about the burning sails, they use the oars to cover the remaining distance to the lakeshore. Another raft gets hit by an arrow, but it only hits neither the sails nor somebody on board.

Turn 79
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Cowers briefly considers loading the crossbow for another shot, then remembers how difficult it was last time and decides against it. She needed a weapon she was more familiar with. Doing her best to stay calm and hidden, Cowers switches to her bow, nocks a burnoil arrow, and shoots at Nina again.
Grace lets loose another arrow, too, and so do all of the archers. Some even manage to shoot a second one. Grace stays put to get a good look at what happens. Now that the enemies are closer, more of the arrows find a target, which is not just wood or sailcloth. Some burning humans jump into the water, some weaker ones directly collapse. Now the few enemy archers start to fire back, but since most of the goblins are hid well behind their huts or in the trees, the arrows only end up sticking in the gras, dirt and roofs of the huts.

The small one of the two large house-vessels starts to drift further south, with all it's sails burning now. Some of the smaller vessels, now aware that most of the arrows are coming from two large trees, try to disembark further south or north along the lake shore.

Finally, they come into javelin range. Flies, Wants and another goblin step forward, out of their cover, and throw their javelins.
Walks hits a guy who is busy rowing, so his raft does not drift further south. The guy stumbles, but still is up on his feat. He looks fearful towards the goblin, but has to keep rowing so his raft won't fall down the waterfall. The other goblin manages to hit an archer on deck of the largest vessel, dealing him heavy damage.
Flies hits and human on a small raft so hard, he is knocked backwards and falls into the water. Since the other human on the raft is already knocked out and burning, that leaves only one left on this vessel, who is busy to extinguish the flames on his friend.

Soon, the first vessels will reach the shore, and Wants, Punches, Coats, Tinkers, Snaps and Nauhir can attack, too.

Turn 80
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

"I would seriously just give up buddy..." Walks shouts, pulling out another Javelin hurling it at the rafts other occupant. "You and your bud won't do much good anyhow."
But his aim is not as good as his shouted menace. The javelin looks like it will hit the human, but than it hits the mast he covers behind.
Walks has run out of javelins, but his attack has definitely threatened everybody onboard that raft. The fire has nearly eaten up all sails, but finally the raft lands at this side of the shore and the humans start to disembark. The one who jumped into the lake since he was burning is close to the raft.
Close behind, an archer hits the last human sitting in a boat. He jumps into the lake, too, leaving the boat empty. Current takes it further down south, getting in the way for another raft approaching. On this raft, one human is busy picking up somebody who jumped into the lake earlier. Another lucky arrow strikes and sets it's sails on fire.

Meanwhile, the second largest vessel has problems to fight the current towards the waterfall, now that all of it's sails have been consumed by the fire. One human panics and jumps into the lake, while the others try to extinguish the last flames.

Another humans shows up on the roof, who was on the inside before. He wears a pale purple robe. He takes a look around, then he starts to wave his arms towards the water behind the vessel.
Further north, a raft picks up a swimmer, while close to it the last person in a boat gets hit by a fire arrow and jumps into the lake. The already burning boat drifts towards the just mentioned raft. The humans row like hell with oars and hands to avoid a collision with the burning piece of wood.

Flies runs north so that she is just North of Cowers' tree. She then throws a Javalin at the human who is not rowing in the two man boat. She scores a hit, but does not do much damage to him. Angrily, the man rips out the javelin and throws it into the boat. When the boat skids on the gravel, they both jump out and attack Flies. The uninjured one got a shield.
Flies receives one damage, while another melee goblin comes running to help her. An archer from above tries to shot at the two attackers, but he does not hit.

The archers on the northern tree focus their fire on the last raft approaching them directly. Cowers wanted to shoot at Nina again, but since she and the other archers on the largest vessel are hidden behind the sails now, she joins the other archers in their volley attack.
One human and the sails start to burn, another arrow only hits wood. One of the goblin archers gets hit by an enemy arrow and fades out. Bones drags him back so he cannot get hit again telling Cowers and the goblin on her platform "He'll be fine!"
Nina and her archers shot at the southern archer platform and hurt one of the archers. He falls down with a scream, but is instantly dragged back into a bush by the medic in the south.

On the other side of the tree, a raft lands. Two man jump of and ready their weapons. One is already injured thanks to Flies javelin which he already removed, the other one got a shield. A third guy who is unconscious remains on the raft.
They are only happy to be on land again for a second, then Wants, the javelin throwing goblin and Coats and Punches charge towards them.

Grace fires another shot towards the humans, but does not hit. "Here it goes.." she says to herself, seeing the humans enter the dry land that is the goblin village. She continues to watch the scene and stays hidden, ready to help if someone gets hurt badly. Her line of fire is blocked by the goblins around Coats now.

Behind the jetty, chief Appears and his men, including Poor, boarded an enemy boat and killed the two humans in their. Poor takes the corpses back to below the jetty to hide them, while chief Appears and another fighter turn the boat to row towards the vessels south of them.

Snaps, ears all flat on her head, growls very low and gets all ready to pounce.
Then she and Nauhir charge towards the two humans close to them, tripping one of them over. Nauhir bites deep into the screaming man's sword arm, while Snaps - sitting on top of him - is busy wrestling him down and leaving bloody scratches in his face. She manages to destroy one of his eyes.
But the other man rather reacts promptly and attacks them, dealing two damage to Snaps and one to Nauhir with one mighty swing of his sword. Then his world goes dark. Not because he is dead, but because Tinkers jumped out and stabbed him into his flank, which was exposed after the swing on Snaps and Nauhir. The man yells "You can take my eyesight, but you can't take my spirit!" and starts to swing his sword randomly around himself. Tinkers manages to bow back fast enough to not get decapitated, but he receives a cut to his chest, dealing one damage. (The human was really lucky hitting you after all.)

Then the largest vessels touches ground again. A human in a purple robe climbs out of a hatch onto the roof of the former boathouse, and commands "Let down the draw gangplank!" to somebody on the inside of the vessel. His order is followed quickly. The gangplank crashes down onto the lakeside, spitting out two horsemen on a brown and a grey horse. The each got a lance, a longs word, and light crossbow. They look heavily armored and eager to fight. They happen to face Coats and Punches when they trot out of the vessel.
They shot their crossbows at Punches, who happens to be closest, but Coats covers him with his shield and intercepts at least one of the quarrels. The human who shot it looks angry for a second, then he grabs for his lance and smiles dastardly.
Punches recieves one damage.

Grace sees that Age and Thumbs move towards the jetty by using the huts for cover.

Battle:
Flies is now on 4/5 hp.
Snaps is now on 3/5 hp.
Nauhir is now on 3/4 hp.
Tinkers is now on 4/5 hp.
Punches is now on 4/5 hp.

Turn 81
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Cowers yelps slightly when one of the northern goblin archers gets hit. "Oh gods, oh gods..." Cowers moans as sees the horsemen and the purple-robed casters. "Gods help us..." Raising her bow again, Cowers sights and shoots the purple-robed human on the largest vessel. She hits his robe, but the arrow seems to go through it without doing any damage. The robe looks up the her now, but she cannot see his face, since the hood throws a shadow on it. But she thinks he grins at her when he raises his arm and points at her tree. "Take out the archers!" he shouts.
But Nina misunderstands his command, since she and her group are already shooting at the archers on the southern platform. "Already doing that!" she answers. The robe gets angry and hits her with his staff. "Not those. The ones on the other side!" he bellows and points to Cowers and Bones platforms.
The archer in the south is glad they stop to shoot at him and focus on the other platforms instead. The second archer in the south runs back to his platform, after the medic healed him with potion. He starts to climb back, while the goblin close runs to help Snaps, Nauhir and Tinkers. "Nauhir! Take 'em out!" Walk shouts, then charges the gray horse with his spear.

When getting hit with the sword, Snaps yelps a little, but immediately throws herself around and at the agressor with high speed. She manages to make him fall on his back, but not without him cutting her in her leg, dealing two damage. As the swordman's arm passes her, she sinks her teeth deep into his wrist, clawing at his face and chest with her arms and at the same time kicking hard at his guts. He gasps for air when she scores a hit with one of her feet, but she does no real damage to him. The goblin, who run to help her, stabs the human with his spear, doing medium damage to the human, who still fights back very well for being blinded.
Tinkers wants to finish of the man on the ground him of by cutting his throat, but then a wet man comes running over the raft and kicks Tinkers hard into his side, dealing one damage. Tinkers dagger cuts the human he wanted to kill for some damage, but also one of Snaps flailing feet when Tinkers rolles uncontrolable over the ground. Luckily it is only a minor cut dealing no damage to her.
But instantly, Snaps is blinded. Tinkers however gets up fast, facing the human who just arrived. Nauhir, done with devastating the arm of the human on the ground till his bone are visible, tries to bite him into his throat, but the man's other arm gets in the way. The human already lost much blood and the spark of life is fading out in him. Nauhir still bites into him and did not notice yet that the man is unconscious.
Two more boats with two men each and a swimmer are approaching the group. One of the man in those boats get's hit with two arrows, instantly killing him and setting him on fire. The other man throws him over board so the boat does not catch fire. The corpse starts to drift south towards the waterfall.
A raft is a little bit behind, but it's crew managed to extinguish the fire on it's sail.

"Oh shit..." Wants utters as he sees the horses. "Those things are big....well the bigger they are...."
"Aw crap." Punches says.
".....so, charge?"
" Yes..." Coats answers and yells
" ARCHERS TO ME!!! SHOOT THE HORSES!!"

Wants runs at the brown horse, shield first and tries to reach it unnoticed, but he does not succeed. Punches is right behind him and swinging his axe at the legs of the horse, while Coats moves on the grey horse and it's rider.
The horses start to gallop towards the charging goblins, lances first. Wants redirects the lance targeting him with his shield, which else would have impaled him. But the horse is fast, and before he can do something else, it rides him down. He manages to deal some damage to one of it's legs, but then the weight of the horse and it's rider are on his shield, pinning him to the ground while riding over him and dealing another damage. After a very long and heavy second, they are gone and the half stunned Wants tries to get up. Lucky him that he got so much armor keeping him safe.
Punches however, manages to sink his axe into the rear flank of the horse, dealing heavy damage and making it stumbles, but does not fall. It's rider looks angrily at Punches, pulling out his sword and pointing it at him.
An archer and Bones try to help Coats, but one arrow does not hit, while the other one bounces of the metal head. The feather decoration of the helmet burns away, but no real damage is done to the rider. "You!" he yells.
Coats lunges at the horse, but the lance is longer than his sword and arm. It pierces his leg, dealing two damage. But Coats reacts fast and puts all of his weight onto the lance, forcing it into the ground. The grey horse gallops ahead, while it's rider is stopped by his own lance in mid air. With a crashing sound, he falls down right next to Wants and gasps for air. With his heavy armor, he has problems to get up, but he is fast enough to at least be on his knees before any goblin can reach him.

The goblin who was with Walks ran to not get ridden over too, is now facing two humans alone, even if one of them is hurt. He is too busy defending himself to score a hit.
The grey horse faces a hunter goblin, who manages to shoo it away and not being ridden over too. The horse runs across the free space in the centre of the war camp, jumping over the pile of burned wood. Grace dodges side wards to not get hit by it's hooves.

Grace gets up again and watches the raging battle ahead of her. What is she doing back here? She sees Age and Thumbs covering the southern flank, so she decides to cover the northern flank. She quietly runs between the large huts going around the supposed battlefield. When she sees Flies and another goblin fighting against two humans, she has to fight the urge of rushing into battle. If she goes down she will do no good. She instead stays closely behind and tries her best to channel the spirit of Maglubiyet into her comrades. They already felt her encouraging aura well before, but she feels an inner fire growing, fuelled by anger over the attack. The black blood from her fingertip suddenly starts to seep into her eyes until they are completly black.
She still can see normally and does not notice it. She sees the northern medic run to where Flies is fighting, who got another goblin as reinforcements.
"Come on then! If you think the two of you are enough to take me down then try it!"
Flies yells while attacking the human without a shield. With the other goblin engaging the human with the shield, Flies manages to kill the other human. But her helper receives two damage by the still unharmed human.
The humans east of her have problems to reach the shore since their sails are gone.

Walks, who was not fast enough to reach the horses in time, joins the group. Two more humans come running out of the large vessel, but they got only short swords and nor real armor. They look worried and more like workers equipped with weapons than fighters.
But Walks can see at least one more horse inside the boathouse.
"Attack!" the purple robe screams from above, shooting a ray of strange blackness at Walks. He dodges it so it hits the grass instead, which withers in time lapse.

Behind the large vessel, the men onboard the raft manage to not collide with the burning and abandoned boat which drifted towards them. The man who jumped into the water could not extinguish the fire in time, and faints, which causes him to drift towards the waterfall and to start drowning. The men onboard of the raft now become aware of chief Appears and another goblin rowing towards them. Two grab weapons, one of them a shield. They still outnumber the goblins, but Appears does not look like that will be a problem for him. Just before the boat hits the raft, he jumps forward, wielding his swords. He slither over the raft and cuts of one of the feet of the man with the shield and then faces the other man who looks shocked now. The two men at the oars draw their weapons, too. The second goblin climbs onboard the raft and finishes of the injured man.

Cowers notices that Poor and two other goblins swam to the largest vessel, and now are starting to climb up just below Nina and the other archers, knives between their teeth.
She also notices that the second largest raft has lost all of it's sails and his masts are burning. It drifts steady towards the waterfall. Another man jumps down into the water and tries to swim. The purple robe does not care about him, and continues to cast something. Suddenly, a heap of water emerges out of the lake, forming a gigantic but crude humanoid figure. Maybe a water elemental? The figure approaches the vessel, and starts to push it towards the shore.

Turn 82
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Without the human archers shooting at them, the archers on the southern platfrom can concentrate their fire on the raft in the south carrying four humans, which is still intact. They manage to set the sails and one of the humans on fire, who jumps into the lake. A third arrow hits the planks of the raft.
This causes their landing to delay for another turn. They get close to the shore, but not close enough to disembark.
Further souteast, one human still swims towards the shore, while the huge water elemental pushs the vessel without sails towards the shore. A human who happens to be in the way clinges to the front side to not get dragged below the water. While the water elemental is able to push the vessel away from the waterfall, it cannot quench the fire on the masts at the same time.
Snaps panics when her world goes dark. This makes her clench her teeth together even harder. She starts to scratch and kick even harder and also frantically tries to throw her whole body weight around in a desperate attempt to get away from the guy with the sword. With this and the fact that her teeth are sunken in the arm of the human, she manages to break his sword arm's ellbow joint, which deals him some damage for sure. He screams and faints. Maybe you should call her Snaps-ellbows instead of ankles.
After a while Snaps regains some of her vision, see can see light and shades again.
"Nauhir! Help Snaps!" Walks shouts from further north. But Nauhir got problems, too.
Direktly south of the large vessel, a boat reaches the already landed raft, and the humans jump onto the raft and use it as a pontoon bridge to reach the shore where Snaps and Tinkers are. One of the human got a shield and a short sword, the other only a longsword. The guy with the longsword grabs Walks javelin, which sticks in the mast of the raft, and throws it at Nauhir, dealing him two damage. He yipes harriedly and tries to remove the weapon with his teeth, but can't reach it. He tries to shake it of, but Tinkers is fast enough to remove it before Nauhir does hurt himself.
Noticing the new goblin arrive, Tinkers motions to him "Hmm...Finish him off and get her out of here. She's been blinded." He then looks at the closest human. He got a shield and a short sword, but he looks hurt. It seems a fire arrow hit and burned him. That would explain why he is soaken wet. Tinkers prepares to parry with his normal knife and stab with the Black Dagger, but the human does not attack, but waits for the other two humans to reach him. Together they form a weak phalanx, with the two shields on the outside.
The medic in the south notices that this group has problems and runs to help them, by trying to give Snaps some of the healing potion, but only receives a kick into his guts from her and falls to the ground and faints out. Age and Thumbs come running too, while the goblin behind the bush runs to Walks and the two humans who just stepped out of the large vessel. The goblin beside Tinkers gets as close to him as he can with Snaps flailing and kicking around, not yet noticing that her oponent has faded out. He does not dare to grab her after what happened to the medic.

At the storage, a melee goblin who secured the southwestern archer tree, hears an alarming sound and jumps out of his hiding place to face the attackers, only to be knocked over by the galloping horse. He is knocked out and recieves three damage. He was lucky he was only hit by the flank of the horse on not by his chest. The archers on this tree cannot see the battle Snaps and Tinkers are taking part in, but the one at the large vessel. The nearly hit the purple robe, but he steps back fast enough for his robe not catching fire. He looks angry at their tree, but continues to concentrate on the battle directly in front of the vessel.
Another heavily armored human walks out of the boat and takes position between the two fighters which look very weak.
The goblin from behind the bush and the left weak human fight each other, dealing each other minor damage.
North, just in front of Cowers tree, the two humans manages to take down the single goblin who tried to defend himself against them alone. He loses one ear and falls to the ground, bleeding. Above him, a medic is healing the archer on Bones platform back to full health.
Bones avenges the goblin below, by scoring a hit into the shoulder of the human with the shield. His head is engulfed in flames and he lets his shield fall and runs over the raft and jumps into the water. But the other human picks up the shield and uses it to deflect another arrow from above.

Seeing that the northern flank is taken care of, Grace stays close to the walls of the hut, sneaking towards the fight where Punches and Wants is. She tries to get a good shot at the horseman still mounted. But his back is all chainmail. But the purple robe, her alternative target jumped back because of the fire arrows, so he is not visible either. Grace decides to shot the horse into it's backside instead. Seeing so many goblins hurt, her muscles tighten and her anger amplifies, and with it, the frustration of not being able to use it. Her knife is not very useful in combat, and archery is not improved by rage, neither is medicine. With no better way of releasing it, she lets out a roar.

But the north flank is not as secure as Grace might have tought.
Flies turns her attention to the last human.
"Its your turn now" she says calmly as she walks towards him.
"Die."
Flies then thursts forward trying to impale him, but he deflects the attack with his shield. Then, the norther raft lands below the main archer tree, and three people jump on land. One got a shield and sword, one only a longsword. The third one, a woman, seems to be a medic, since she drags away the human Flies killed.
"We won't let you have all the fun" one of them says.
"Shut up, they killed Dieter!" the one was already fighting hisses.
"Norma will take care of him." the first one replies.
"About that..." the woman interupts them and shakes her head.
"Damn!"
"Right."
"You will pay, goblins!"
"For Dieter!"
The three of them charge at Flies and the other goblin. The goblin recieves a heavy blow on his chest, while he cannot deal any damage against the guy with the shield. Flies faces two of them, and still manages to deal medium damage to the already hurt one. But the one with the shield uses her attack to counterattack, and cut her deep into her upper arm, dealing two damage. Then the second human strikes, too, dealing her one damage since she almost evaded his sword.

Cowers stares, horrified, as she sees her shot had little effect. It was just getting to be too much; at every turn, each of their little victories seemed to get abruptly ripped away. Unbidden, she cries out in terror, "Why can't you monsters just leave us alone?!?"
Desperately trying to keep it together, she sets up and looses another arrow at the lead purple-robed human, this time hoping to strike him in the face or something vital. The arrow penetrates the robe again, this time close at the throat, andfor a split second it seems like it will pass through it without doing any damage again. But then it hits the armor of the man behind the robe, in whom the robe bumped into when backing up from the two flame arrows before. The flame oil errupts and both man are set on fire and run and jump into the water while screaming and flailing their arms around their heads.
Cowers, still suprised from the effectivity of her arrow, moves back a bit on her platform to provide better concealment and cover from return fire.

But there is not much return fire. One arrow hits Bones and deals him minor damage, then Poor and his group reach the roof of the boathouse. Bones takes a sip from the medic and watches the slaugther with delight. Nina, who got a faster reaction then the other two archers, tries to jump into the water, ahead of the goblin, but again it is Poors hand that sets an end to an adventurer. He grabs her in mid air and does not let go, and even pulls her back with all of his strength. That, and gravity, cause Nina to bump very hard into the boathouse wall below Poor. Hard enough to break the planks nailed over the windows and to send Nina flying into the boathouse with a lot of noise. Poor can even hear a horse wicker in disapproval of the sudden intruder. One of the remaining archers is knocked out, the other one is killed and thrown into the water right away.
The one guy still on top of the boathouse, looks at Poor and the other two golins, then he decides to follow the robe and jumps into the water, too. He swims towards the group fighting against Tinkers and Snaps.
Behind the large vessel, Appears and his comrade take down another human, this time killig him instantly. But the goblin fighting with Appears also recieves some damage. Since everybody on board is fighting now, the raft and boat start to drift towards the waterfall.

In the center of the battle:
"Is that all you got human!" Wants screams at the horse man. "I know a little goblin girl who fight better then you!"
Then, Grace arrow hits the back of the horse, causing it to bold and charge straight ahead, which means directly at Wants again, who is still stunned from the first attack. The only reaction he can manage, is to duck behind his large shield. The impact deals him only one damage. But the horse perishes due to all it's wounds and the fire arrow, topped with Punches hitting it again, cutting deep into it's rear leg. It collapses and burries Wants below itself, dealing him another one damage. Wants should have fainted out, but somehow he got used to the pain. He cannot reach into his backpack with the horse on top of him.
This time the rider is prepared, and his sword bites deep into Punches shoulder, when Punches hits the horse. Since Punches tried to run past the horse, he kind of runs into the sword, which deals him three damage. He stumbles and crashs into the ground just in front of Grace. Quite lucky under the circumstances, since she is a medic.
The human on top of the horse crashes into the other human, taking down his defense a little bit. The one who fell down is also stunned for a moment. The crash deals some damage to the rider of the brown horse and to lose his shield. Just when he wants to reach for it, Walks appears and stabs him into his lower arm with his spear, dealing him minor damage.
"No shield for you." he says. The human curses and swings his sword at Walks, but he jumps back.
Coats warily looks at his bleeding leg. Shrugging off the pain and the cramping Coats starts towards the fallen man hoping to keep him from getting to his feet. He faces him directly, so he cannot put a sword into his neck. But when the other man crashes down on him and the horse behind him, he gets distracted and there is an opening in his defense. Coats sword arm darts forward and the swords bites across the man's face, ripping a deep wound from his right cheek, through his eye, over his nose and up his forehead, before it blows of his helmet, dealing heavy damage to him. The man is a trained warrior, and does not let a chance to hurt his enemy slip only cause he got wounded. He lifts his sword fast enought to cut into Coats sword arm before Coats can pull it back, dealing one damage.
"Arghhh my eye!" he swears and spits blood towards Coats, which is running down into his mouth. "Wulfheart, Aristad, help me!".
Coats notices another goblin running to his aid from behind.

A third purple robe steps out of large vessel. He looks at the southwestern archer platform, points his hands at it and calmly says "Ice storm."
A dark cloud gathers above the platform and magical hailstones pound down on it. One of the archers gets knocked out, the other one climbs below the platform fast enough, but loses his bow, so he has to climb down to regain it.

Battle:
Nauhir is down at 1/4 hp.
Flies is down at 1/5 hp.
Punches is down at 2/5 hp.
Wants is down at 1/6 hp.
Coats is down at 3/6 hp.

Traits:
Flies: underdog bonus (+1 ATK when fighting more than one enemies in melee)
Wants: pain resistance (+1 hp)

Turn 83
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Seeing the three enemies in front of her Flies takes a step back."I won't let you win. I won't let you destroy our camp." Flies motions to the goblin with her "Fall back get grace to patch you up!" Flies backs away towards the hut. The other goblin joins her. She gets the random potion ready for drinking, but then the medic who cared for the archer before offers her some healing potion. Gladly, she drinks enough to get rid of all her wounds, and so does the other goblin.
"Thanks" the goblin says to the medic.
But the humans got a medic, too. Norma gives the hurt human without a shield some healing potion, though not enough to heal all of his wounds, the most severe one is gone.
"Climb up and take out the archers, we will stand our ground down here!" one of the humans with a shield says to the just healed one.
Cowers hears Flies calling for a retreat below. Switching targets, Cowers covers Flies' retreat, firing an arrow straight down into skull of the wounded human that attacked Flies. She misses him by an inch, and the arrow hits the one with a shield into shoulder. He rolls around to extinguish the flames, and then their medic is already upon him to give him some healing. Meanwhile, the human with the sword starts to climb up the tree swiftly.
"Don't shoot at our tree or below with fire arrows!" Bones shouts towards Cowers. He pulls out his sword and awaits him in melee. The goblin on Cowers platform does the same and tells her to get behind him and keep shooting, but on something else.

The other archers concentrate on helping Tinkers after he shouted "Hmm....ARCHERS! WE REQUIRE ASSISTANCE OVER HERE!" and did not notice the climbing human yet.
They both hit the human close to the purple robe at the large vessel gangway. He is engulfed in flames instantly, and though he runs towards the water very fast, he is not fast enough. He collapses on the way and is killed by the flames.

On the lake, the unconscious and dead humans and the abandoned and burning boat start to drift further south. One of the unconscious humans is lucky and a swimmer notices him, saving him from drowning.
South of Tinkers position the last raft lands with it's sails on fire. Three humans jump off, two of them with shields, one with a large sword, while a fourth human, who jumped into the water to extinguish the fire on himself, climbs onto the raft to reach the lakeshore.

In the southwest, the archer goblin climbs back onto the platform and wakes up his comrade. The reopen fire towards the group fighting Tinkers and Snaps. The manage to hit a human who just got out of the water after he was set on fire. He is set on fire again, and fades. He falls back into the water, which saves him from the fire, but he is unconscious now.
Close to him, the purple robe and the other human climb out of the water onto the raft, where the largest group of humans landed so far.

"Nauhir! Back off! Pick off any wounded!" Walks shouts from further north. The wolf understands and runs to the medic, but he is not strong enough to drag him into safety.
As her vision slowly returns, Snaps blinks repeatedly, shakes her head and rubs her face with her forearms. The human whose arm she has still stuck in her locked jaws has gone all limp when he lost consciousness.
Therefore Snaps is able to stop panicking and asset the situation. She opens her mouth and spits out the arm.
Given that she's badly wounded and there are many more hostiles advancing, Snaps gives off a low whine and scams towards the nearest bushes for cover. Relying more on her nose and ears than on her eyes, that are not yet fully functional again, she runs to Nauhir and snatches up the unconscious goblin, too. Together they manage to draw him back.
Until they run into Age and Thumbs.
Age knees down and heals the medic, who awakes. Age tells him to heal Snaps, while she casts something on Tinkers, his comrade and Thumbs who runs to help them, too, though it seems he is all thumbs when fighting, too.
Tinkers takes a defensive stance and tries to use his speed to parry any incoming attacks, but the humans manage to drive him and his comrade back. While Tinkers receives only one damage from a cut on his offhand arm, the other goblin receives more from a leg wound and Thumbs the most - he ends up with a deep gash from cheek to chin. "The wounds we received should have been deeper" Tinkers thinks "maybe that's what Age's spell was good for."
Tinkers manages to cut and blind the human without a shield though, who falls back in horror. He also cuts one of the shield guys, but only with his offhand and not causing much damage.
Suddenly, Tinkers feels one of his wounds heal a little bit, but he has no idea why. He regains one hp.

"Hahah that all you got!" Wants laughs dampedly from below the horse.
"Ok.....let's try this again." Punches moves down and puts the healing potion vial upside down into Wants mouth. Then he tries to nudge the dead horse slightly, but he is not strong enough, even with Wants helping him, who is fighting to get out of there. But the horse is just to heavy. At least it stopped burning.
Wants drinks from the vial in his mouth and is healed back to full health.
Punches thinks about attacking the horsemen behind the horse, but then he notices the downed goblin to the north, and the remaining human.
Grace prepares to feed some healing potion to Punches, but he seems not in the mood for healing, but for rescuing when she reaches him.
"Damn you!!! Grace, heal him - I'll take care of this asshole........!"
Charging forward, Punches runs at the human while swinging his axe, aiming for any unarmoured areas.
"Right behind you!" who grabs the healing potion vial from Wants mouth and runs after Punches. She falls down on her knees beside the unconscious goblin and pours some healing potion down his mouth until the vial is empty, then she gets out the medium one she got.
The goblin is healed back to full health, except for the missing ear. The goblin looks at his severed ear with disbelieve, then he lifts one hand to his heads. He starts to roar and charge at the humans, too. He throws all his weight into a jump out of full speed against the human with the shield, knocking him over. Laying down and with his shield raised to protect his torso against the goblins furious attacks, he has no chance to protect himself against Punches axe. With an ugly sound it takes revenge for the ear, by truncating the humans leg at the thigh bone. The other human with the burn wounds intervenes against the raging one ear goblin, who's name happens to be Plays-it-by-ear, by dealing him some damage. But Plays also deals some damage to the shield guy by attacking him with a short knife and a dagger.
Both humans look like if they are close to being finished.
Seeing the goblin awake and get up, Grace turns to aid Flies, but notices that an other medic has already done that.

"HOLD THE LINE AND PUSH THEM BACK!" Coats snarls hoping that the chief will aid them in a double pincher move.
Coats doesn't even seem to notice the wound as he trys to bash Berin's head with his shield, trying to knock him down. But Berin got a shield himself, so Coats ends up banging shield on shield with a larger and stronger opponent. Berin uses his metal boot to boot Coats, sending him flying on his hip since Coats injured leg gives in. The exposure on the wound, the kick and the fall altogether deal him two damage. He feels like he gets used to the pain and can take some more before fainting.
While falling down, Coats chops his sword as strong as possible at the leg kicking him, dealing some minor damage to Berins leg, who after that has problems to stand up, too.
The other goblin attacks him, too, but cannot deal any damage, but receives some.

Walks and his comrade attack the already unjured human, trying to finish him off.
shouts, thrusting his spear at the injured night again, trying to finish him off.
Wulfheart and Aristad, the two heavily armored fighters, maybe knights, gang up on Walks.
Wulfheart has problems to use his shield to full effectiveness after Walks stabbed into his shield arm, but Aristad is fresh and eager to figth. Two humans in heavy armor with two swords and shields each are too much for Walks, even with the increased melee range thanks to his spear. He has to back up to avoid getting killed. He receives three damage.
Aristad suddenly looks very surprised. He turns around slightly and shivers, when the purple robe steps forward and pulls out the javelin sticking in his back. It is the same javelin thrown at the archers from Wants before, and it was Poor who threw it back now, while his men are trying to open the latch leading into the boathouse. But something holds it shut.

On the raft which is still on the lake, chief Appears and his comrade keep fighting the humans. The chief kills beheads one of the humans with a jump and a double sword attack, but he returns he cut too, before the corpse of the human falls into the water. The other goblin and his oponent mange to deal some damage to each other. The man cuts into the forehead of the goblin, while the goblin stabs into the belly of the human.

The purple robe south of the large vessel starts to cast something and is gone. Before the archers on the southern platform notice where he went, one of them gets kicked down of the platform. "Succumb gravity, vermin." the robe snarls, before he tries to hit the second archer with his staff. But the goblin is fast enough to pull his sword and parry, cutting off the tip of the staff, which causes a discharge of purple sparks from the staff. "Damn you, this was my best staff!" the human bellows.
That's not all tricks the robes know. All of a sudden there are five more of them standing in front of the boathouse. Poor jumps down, right into them, knife ready.

It seems the chief got enough of this magic, and thinks it is time for some payback. He uses his summon monster IV spell to summon a large spider on the raft west of him, which has his color. The yellow spider appears and directly bites into the head of the human, who just climbed back on deck after he got burned by an fire arrow. He is killed and falls into the water, while the spider advances on the human with the shield still on the raft. The chief is very glad his warriors were able to get some items from those adventurers before the big battle began. Very helpful, this stuff.

In the very south, the water elemental finally pushed the second largest vessel to the shore. Since it has time for other tasks now, it rips away the burning masts and throws them into the lake. The robe shouts a command, and the gangplank falls down onto the lakeshore.
The water elemental seems to be annoyed by the burning boat drifting towards him, and starts to approach it.

Battle:
Flies is back on 5/5 hp.
Tinkers is back on 3/5 hp.
Wants is back on 6/6 hp.
Coats is down on 2/7 hp.
Walks is down on 2/5 hp.

Traits:
Tinkers: swiftness (better initiative and slightly increased attack speed)
Coats: pain resistance (+1 hp)

Anti-confusion-information:
@Ziprath: I just checked up: Flies did not get a healing potion when she asked for, there was none left since the medics took all of them. The two items handed to her were the random potion and the ring. That's why I changed her action a little bit and send the medic so you still got the healing potion after all.

Turn 84
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

The water elemental slowly moves to the burning boat, drifting towards it. When it reaches the boat, it splashes a huge amount of water on the boat, putting out the fire and washing the oars out of the boat. A huge pile of steam arises into the air. The water elemental is smaller for a second, then it seems to pump itself back on it's old size using the water from the lake.
Fond of it's new toy, the elemental pushes the burned boat towards the shore.
Around it, the human corpses are slowly drifting towards the waterfall, while the burned masts the elemental plucked from the vessel in the south are close to fall down. Chief Appears and his comrade keep fighting the last two humans on their raft, while their raft too slowly drifts towards the elemental and the waterfall behind it. The boat, drifting fast towards the waterfall, gently jolts against the raft, rotates and overhauls the raft.
The chief's yellow spider grabs a human with a shield and ensnares him and adhering the cocoon at the mast of the landed raft. The injured human out of the four men group close to the spider panics and flees towards the southern group of humans, while the spider grabs an injured, but still living human lying on the ground and starts to ensnare him, too.
The other three humans still did not notice the spider yet, the put their whole attention on fighting and driving back Tinkers and his comrades. They deal some damage to the goblins, who have problems fighting back against the larger and stronger humans, who also got more armor and longer weapons.
Tinkers allows his jaw to drop for a second before yelling and pointing "SPIDER!". The human facing Thumbs looks back, feeling safe enough behind his shield, but Thumbs bends his knees and lets his knife cut into the knee of the human. With an angry and pain filled hiss, the human turns back on him and bashes at Thumbs head with his shield, knocking him over and out. The human limbs, but manages to keep standing upright. The human on the other side of the center goblin turns, too. The goblin fighting him uses the opportunity to stab him into his shoulder, dealing medium damage. The human turns and a mighty smash of his sword cuts of the goblins arm, dealing him heavy damage. He stumbles back and falls down in front of Age and the medic, but he does not fade out.
Tinkers human is the only one not falling for the distraction. Tinkers rushes forward and skids below the shield being jerked to where his chest was moments before. Tinkers uses the failed shield bash and his momentum to cut into both legs of the human while skidding through between his legs. Tinkers jumps back on his legs very quick and directly faces the yellow spider, still busy ensnaring the human. The blinded human swings his sword at the grass behind him, but he misses Tinkers. The other goblins move closer on him and cover him while he is blind, especially the one who already experienced Tinkers blinding effect and knows it is only temporary. "Stay calm, it will fade fast. We got your back." "And front." the other human adds and takes the shield from the blinded human.

Seeing that the unconscious goblin has been taken care of, Snaps looks for a place to lay low and lick her wounds. She finds it between the huts northwest of her.
The medic feeds healing potion to the one armed goblin very promptly, while Age talks to Nauhir "Help me to make her take her potion. I also got some for you." she says calmly.
The little wolf lifts his head and opens his mouth and allows Age the drop some of the healing potion into it. He tries hard to swallow it and not waste it by letting it flow out of between his teeth. Snaps, who's vision turns back to normal, watches them carefully. Age's potion is empty now, but she asks the medic share some of his potion. He hands her a full small healing potion. She uncorks it and waves it towards Snaps. Nauhir walks over to her and tries to push her towards Age. "I don't know if you understand me, but you can trust me." Age says with a friendly and calm voice. "I'll get Thumbs." the medic says and hurries to drag him away while the humans are occupied.

On the archer platform close by, the robe hits the goblins weapon with the remains of it's staff, disarming him. Then the human grabs the goblin, and suddenly the are both gone. Further east, they reappear in the air over the lake, a little bit behind the water elemental. Then the robe blinks again, and the archer falls down into the water. He notices he is in a strong current towards the edge of the waterfall, and swims as fast as he can, trying to fight against the current. He does not care about losing his bow, which drifts toward the edge very quickly.

Cowers casts a fearful glance at the humans trying to climb the tree, then, from her position on the archer platform, makes a quick visual sweep of the surrounding area and all the chaos in it, trying to spot unusual things. Well, there are plenty of it. But she also notices Divya at the storage, who drags a hurt and unconscious goblin into it. After a few seconds she leaves it again, closing the door behind her. Strange.
Cowers then focuses her attention on the batch of mages that just came out of the boathouse, nocking another arrow and firing into the group of purple-robed humans. At first, she thinks the arrow passes through the robe without hurting it, but then the robe it hit just vanishes. Same for the robe behind it, which the arrow reaches next. Then it hits something inside of the boathouse, causing it to burn.
On the other side of the group of robes, Poor tries to bang two of them against each other, but his hands don't get a grip on them, and just pass through them, as if they were ghosts. They get blurry and disappear, too. Confused Poor looks at the robe in front of him. The man lifts his hand and starts to cast, saying "Fire arr-" but a quick kick from Poor right between his legs stop the casting. The robe collapses and whimpers, seems Poor hit something important.
Suddenly, an arrow hits Poor's right arm. It came from the inside of the vessel.

Coat tries to get up and move back despite his injured leg, but he fails. He knows he close to being unable to fight anymore, so he yells "Grace! I need a medic!"
He tries to back up and signals the other goblin to do the same, but without him being able to walk, he cannot escape from the human, slowly limping towards them.
"Coats needs help, Grace. We can handle these guys. Though I wouldn't mind a little bit of healing before you go......" Punches tells Grace.
"Hang in there Coats! I'll be right with you!" she yells and feeds Punches enough potion to heal him completely and starts to run to Coats.
But on her way she notices the giant spider. She is paralyzed by the sight of it, and flashbacks of Wants being carried away into the darkness and herself losing her torch to the vicious creatures runs through her mind. She starts to shiver and breath heavily in fear.
Coats notices that Grace has suddenly stopped, grits his teeth over the pain and yells over the sound of battle "Pull yourself together!"
He tries to crouch away from the human.
"Your tribe needs you! Your friends need you! "
But the human comes closer without mercy.
He kicks away Coats shield and lifts his sword. But the attack never reaches Coats, since the goblin fighting next to him jumps in and takes the sword for Coats. With surprised eyes, the goblin looks at the sword which entered his chest and exited through his back. He shakes his head and uses his last strength to cut the human into his sword hand, but then the human uses his feet to draw his sword out of the dying goblin.
The human sweats and breathes heavily. "I will take you with me, and if it is the last thing I do." he bellows at Coats.
He lifts his sword, and stabs it deep into Coats other leg. Coats can take much pain and wounds, but this is too much, even for him. He faints. The human drops his shield and positions himself right next to him, lifts is sword, and aims for Coats neck. And falls on his back, with his head burning and an arrow sticking in his eye socket.
High above, Bones roars in elation "Not on my watch, bastard!"

Wants, still wiggeling himself out from below the dead horse. "What is happening over there? Tell me. Help me."

Plays attacks the human furiously and finally takes him down, though receiving much damage himself, too. Punches tries to body slams the burnt human that Plays isn't attacking, but he only bounces of the much heavier human and hurts himself a little bit. Then he tries to ram the axe into his opponents chest, but the human blocks with his sword. But the strong attack sends the sword flying wide, disarming the human. The shocked human kicks Punches and runs towards the other humans in the north, before Punches or Plays can react.
The group is glad to get some more reinforcements, and Norma heals the man swiftly back to full health. "Crap I'm out of...well nevermind, I still got bandages." she murmurs.
With another fighter, they advance on Flies and her comrade, while Flies atacks the left human. She manages to deal him medium damage, but his sword cuts along the arm of the hand, which guided the spear, dealing her three damage. The other goblin helps Flies, and hits the human two, dealing some damage and receiving minor damage.
The northern medic runs towards Plays who looks like he is in bad shape.

Above him, the climbing human is fighting against the archer on Cowers platfrom. The human got a head start and deals more damage than he receives, while the archer looks desperate. "Help me!" he yells, already bleeding from two wounds.

"Crap...I could use a little help with these two, if anybodies available..." Walks says, trying to rather fending off the humans with his spear, than attacking them. The have to back up much to not receive further damage and are far from dealing some.
"Walks, drink you potion!" Age shouts from further south.
The archers on the western platform cannot help them without risking to hit goblins instead of humans, so they shoot at the large group of humans below the southern archer platform. They only hit shields and grass.

In the south, the robe climbed into the vessel, and humans start to disembark. But the goblins cannot see much of what is going on there.

Battle:
Nauhir is back on 4/4 hp.
Punches is back on 5/5 hp.
Coats is down on -1/7 hp and bleeding.
Punches is down on 4/5 hp.
Flies is down on 2/5 hp.

Anti-confusion-information:
@Dusk: How can you body slam somebody while trying to ram your axe into his chest? Cannot imagine that move. I made those actions happen after each other.

Turn 85
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Grace watches as if in slow motion the human downing Coats, and striking the selfless goblin who took the hit she was supposed to prevent. All because she was scared.

"FOR THE LOVE OF RANDOM VIOLENCE ! GET THIS HORSE OFF OF ME !!!" Wants yells as he tries as hard as he can to get out of under the horse, but to no avail without help.
"Hold yer horses - I'm coming, I'm coming."
Punches moves south and drinks the enlarge person potion, before muttering to himself: "Heh, horses......."
Once he reaches Wants, he tries to pull Wants out from underneath the horse.
Wants yelling seems to break Grace's shock and she starts to move again.
Her eyes fill with tears as she snaps out of her paralysation and runs to fallen goblins aid.
She pour healing potion down his throat, holding his head in her lap. Black tears drop down on his face as he wakes up, turning back into normal water once they hit his skin. His wound must have been very grave, since Grace needed nearly half of her healing potion to put him back into positive numbers. He still got wounds left, but the large hole in his chest is gone. He looks week and tired, but he lives. With seven hp of potion left, Grace turns to Coats, whose condition is not as urgent. But urgent enough and feeds him potion as well. "Please be fine! PLEASE!", she says repeatedly, while feeding the potion to him. Then, he blinks in surprise and slowly gets up, glaring at Grace. Not all of his wounds are gone, since he was into negative numbers to far for the potion to heal him completely. Grace has run out of potion, after saving the two goblins.
"Nice to see you got your nerve back" Coats says in a unfriendly tone " Now get out of my way. This fight isn't over."
"I'm sorry Coats! I couldn't help it..."
Coats helps Punches and pulls the horse sideways by it's saddle, while Punches pulls at Wants arm. Punches, much stronger thanks to the potion, got enough power to free Wants. But being pulled out from below the heavy horse requires much power and he feels like being pressed through a set of two compactor rollers. The force requiered to free him is strong enough to deal him one damage, but finally he is free again and stands up.
"About time." he complains.
"Go help Coats - I'm going to back up Flies." Punches commands and starts running north, towards Flies, since the human in the tree is out of reach. Wants kicks the dead horse and then jumps over it, following Coats into battle, who leapt to his feat and runs to the spell casters, hitting him. The spell caster vanishs.
The hurt goblin stands up, still standing on shaky ground from the heavy loss of blood, and picks up his sword and the large shield from the dead human. Then he looks at Grace, like waiting for her to tell him what to do next.

"Dammit!" Flies thinks to herself "That one was deep, I'm losing.... and if I don't beat these guys our archers are in trouble."
She then remembers the potion and drinks it, thinking "Please let this help" when Punches arrives and buys her some time. Suddenly, Flies is gone. Well, at least for anybody except herself. Seems she was lucky and got a potion of invisibility. Those are known not to last long, but they could give her enough advantage for a short time to turn around this battle.
Punches does a mighty upside down swing, dealing some damage to one of the fighters with a shield, which also sends the shield flying. Another human runs to grab it. The one who just lost his shield deals Punches a slight cut for one damage, but looks seriously frightened.
The hurt shield man deals some damage to the other goblin, but then Flies is behind him and stabs him into his back, taking him down.
"They got something invisible!" Norma yells and throws a bandage at Flies. It unfolds and wraps itself around her spear, but Flies is able to shake it of quickly, but she has to back up since the human who picked up the shield hurried into her direction, swinging his sword through the air wildly.

In the meantime, Plays has stabbed the man cutting of his ear again, dealing him a death blow.

Snaps looks at the medic and the potion warily, one ear twitching nervously. She sniffs the air and seems to recognize the smell, making a few tentative steps towards the medic. But suddenly her ears go all flat again, she gives off a short, warning bark to Nauhir and turns on her heels, scampering towards the pink dot.

In front of Coats and Wants, Poor stabs the mage he just kicked, and turns to run into the vessel to attack the archer. But suddenly the bleeding robe grabs Poor's ankle, and whispers "My pain to your pain... your health to my health...". A fatal wound breaks open in Poor's chest at the same place where he just stabbed the robe. And another part of him hurts, too, namely the one he kicked the robe. Poor falls sideways, collapsing. The robe instead looks fine and healthy again, and stands up again with a nasty grin upon his face.
Before Coats and Wants can reach him, the mage levitates onto the deck of the vessel, while the goblins on the vessel just climbed into it's inside.
At least Coats is able to catch an arrow aimed for Poor with his shield.
Behind them, the two humans are still forcing Walks and his comrade to fall back.
"Right...Let's give this a shot..." WalksBriskly says, popping the potions cork and downing it in one motion. He feels no effect, neither a positive nor a negative one. Suddenly, there is air and water all around Walks. Looks like that damned mage on the southern platform teleported him into the lake, just like the archer before. But unlike the archer, Walks crashs onto the water, as if it were solid ground. It hurts enough to deal one damage, but at least he is in no danger to be flushed down the waterfall by the current. He runs south to help the archer who is unable to fight against the current. Slowly, Walks drags him back towards the lakeshore in the west.

The goblin who fought beside Walks runs away when he noticed that Walks is gone. The humans chase him, but they are much slower. An arrow hits the back of one of them, but Bones cannot see if the human just ignores the flames or if he did not do any damage at all.
The goblin runs towards Age, who heals him back on full health after Snaps run away.

When Snaps reaches the stranger to her, she starts to growl at Divya menacingly, teeth bared, her hair gone all puffy, her back arched, ready to pounce and barking aggressively. Divya does not back up at all but smiles at Snaps. All of a sudden, Snaps is calm. She walks over in front of one of the huts, cursl up, like if she wants to sleep.
Divya walks to Age, using just the way Snaps just took.
"Nice girl." Divya says, when she is shure Age noticed her. Nauhir noticed her definitly, he growls at her.
"Shoo. Mind telling me what's up here?" Divya asks Age, after Nauhir turned around and ran towards Tinkers. Together with the one armed goblin and the medic he charges at the back of the humans, who are staring at the spider. At least those who still can see. The one who can only see shapes at the moment gets even more frightened when he notices that the men to his left is killed.
Tinkers turns around to the humans,
"Hmm...Do you really think you can best me, and our spider"
Not waiting for a response, Tinkers rushes the human that Thumbs stabbed. He tries for a low feint, hoping the human drops his shield to protect his already injured leg, then changes and stabs high.
The human with the shield doesn't believe Tinkers, and charges at him. But just when he is about to hit Tinkers, the spider jumps and let's the man run into one of it's pointy legs. Tinkers is trapped in a circle of seven of those legs, but the spider did not hurt him, though it would have been easy for the spider to crush him.
The human sticking on the spiders leg struggles and hits the spider, but it disarms him swiftly and starts to entangle him in spider silk, too.

South of the spider the humans gather and build a phalanx, and start to advance on the spider, while the one who ran away keeps running towards the vessel in the southeast. Behind them, more soldiers are disembarking.

The water elemental advances on the fire closest to it, but then the robe controlling it climbs back onto the roof of the southern vessel. He spots chief Appears and his comrade killing another human. The water elemental turns towards the raft the chief is on, and points one of it's arms at it. A giant water splash sends the goblins, humans, the mast and oars flying into the lake a long way behind the raft. They all receive some damage, but nobody faints. They are in a section of lake with a stronger current.

"Oh gods, oh gods... it's all going wrong..." Cowers mumbles, terrified. Setting her bow down and drawing her knife, she tries to figure out what to do. In her terror-and-adrenaline-fuelled state, the battle in front of her seemed to be going in slow motion. Every swing, parry, and strike was accentuated in vivid detail. Slowly, the human was forcing the goblin to the edge of the platform. Cowers knew that she wasn't a fighter; even with the other goblin's help, she knew it wasn't a fight that was going to end well. They were vulnerable and there was no room to maneuver on the platform; at this height, they were effectively cornered.
And then she gets an idea. Tightly gripping the knife in her left hand, she lunges through the defending goblin's legs and gets underneath and in-between the human's legs. But the human did notice her, and deals a long cut to her back, before she passes his legs, dealing four damage to Cower while she is unable to doge or defend herself. But at least the other part of her plan worked. The knife cuts into the human's knee, and forces him to knee down to avoid falling down the platform. Not the other goblin can fight him eye to eye and has a better stand. But for Cower stand, it does not look good. The human kneed down too fast, and trapped her leg underneath his lower leg, while grabbing her knife hand with his free hand. There is not chance to escape his iron fist. "Let's hope she bought the other goblin enough advantages", she thinks while her back burns like hell.

The medic below her heals Plays back to full health, and then runs north. He hides behind Punches, ready to climb the tree if the path is clear

The medic in the south is not shure what to do, since all goblins he can reach are at full health. Well, the robe on the archer platform helps him makes the decision easy, since he teleports him onto the lake, too.

Suddenly, Snaps jumps at Divya from behind and starts to bite and hit and kick her like a mad man. Seems Divyas calming spells are not as effective than she thought. "Snaps, stop it!" Age screams.

Battle:
Coats is back on 4/7 hp.
Punches is down on 3/5 hp.
Walks is down on 1/5 hp.
Cowers is down on 1/5 hp.
Punches is enlarged (1/? turns).
Flies is invisible (1/? turns).
Walks has water walking (1/? turns).
Grace has run out of healing potion.

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Cowers screams, both in agony and in terror. Every thought goes to survival and escape. Using her free hand to drink her her reduce person potion and tries to use her smaller size to wriggle free and scramble down the tree. But the human sees her drink it. While he has no chance to stop her with one hand fighting the goblin and the other one holding her firm, he reacts fast enough to knee further down when Cowers shrinks and to keep his hold on her.
The human deals another cut to the goblin archer, who does not look good. Cowers is disarmed and too tiny to fight back, and the human's knee on her leg hurts, the wound on her back burns. The human lifts his sword for another strong blow at the goblin, defending himself only with a knife. In slow motion, Cowers can see the sword being swung at the goblin, but then the human loses his grip on the sword. It falls down and off the platform. Stone-faced, the human looks at his chest. He sees two arrow heads, then he falls down flat on the platform, driving the arrows heads back into his body. A little smoke and the smell of burned flesh emits from the wounds, but no fire.
"Sorry, we had to rub off the fire oil first!" Bones shouts from the other platform. He and his comrade look glad they were able to shoot in time. "Else it could have set you on fire, too."
The archer on Cowers platform helps her to climb out from down under the dead human by rolling the human over the edge of the platform, then he grabs his bow and scans the camp for a good target.
Cowers notices that her bow did not shrink, since she did not have it equipped when she drank the potion. But the crossbow and the other items in her inventory did.

"Hah! Getting scared?"
Punches attacks the human in front of him with an axe swing, but the human jumps back in time.
"Not really. Death is not the end for us. If I cannot kill you, somebody else will take my place and do it. And when you are all slain, I will live again" he answers, swinging his sword again to fend of the other goblin.
"You humans are all the same. You waste all your time bragging, making out like you're big and tough, that you're the best race out there. Like you deserve to get everything you want, without actually doing any work for it. Without making any sacrifices for it."
"You think you're better, that the rest of us are just useless vermin. But, when it comes down to it, you can't even take care of a crap little warcamp like this one. Tell me, how many goblins do you think you and your friends have killed so far? 15? 10? Half a dozen at the very least, right?"
"None. That's right; none. Zero. Nil."
In that moment, the dead human from the platform crashes onto the ground behind Punches. The humans poker face drops, and Punches can see his fear now.
"For all your magic, your horses, your high quality weapons and armour, and your vastly superior numbers, you haven't managed to kill a single one of us. Not. One."
"And in case you were wondering, we've slaughtered at least a dozen of you. Probably more."
"Shut the hell-!" the human with the shield starts to yell. Then a trail of blood appears in the air behind him, left behind from Flies spear being yanked out of his back. He sprawls, face first onto the ground, his shield rolling away in the grass.
"Eeeeeeee!" Norma screams and backs up. "I give up!I give up don't kill me I am just a-" "TRAITOR!" the other human hisses and snaps around, swinging his sword at her. When his sword cuts into her arm, raised in defence, his heads drops to the ground. Punches breathes heavily and lowers his axe, looking satisfied. Norma sinks to her knees.
"Don't kill me, I am only a hired healer. I'm no part of their cult. Please!" Norma says sniveling and starts to weep.
"Kill her!" the one eared goblin screams, who comes running towards them.
The northern goblin medic starts to climb up to Cowers and her comrade, now the platform is safe.

Wants takes the healing potion from his bag pack and feeds it to Poor. When he wakes up, Wants says "You seemed like you needed a drink." "Thanks, but I got enough to drink when I was in the lake earlier." Poor jokes and stands up again. When he sees the robe is out of reach, he grabs the javelin lying next to him, and throws it. It hits the flying robe at his legs and deals some damage to him. The robe answers with an hail storm, but Coats and Poor run into the boathouse while Wants runs south. Since the hail storm follows Coats and Poor, it starts to hit it's caster instead of the destined targets, since he is right above them, while they are protected by the boathouse roof. The caster starts to fly further east to escape it's own spell.
Inside the vessel, the find some supplies, a horse, Nina and a frightened human boy trying to hide behind the horse cot. The horse is in panic because of the fire in front of it. It is on it's hind legs and kicks against the fence. Poor tips over a bucket of water and the fire turns into vapour. The horse calms down. Nina shoots another arrow at Coats, but deals no damage again, thanks to his shield. Then, all the goblins are around her, and finish her. With a sigh, she faints, bleeding from many wounds.

Grace looks back at the healed goblin, who is already busy fighting again. Then she looks down. Coats' words running through her head. "Get out of my way!" The goblins around her are heavily wounded, while she is still unharmed. "I'm not useless." She feels the vial break in her hand by the clenching of her fist. The glass shards cut into her hand, but she doesn't feel the pain, while black blood starts to drop down. She takes one damage, and the wound seems to trigger something deep inside her. "I'm not useless! I can prove it! I have no reason to fear. I have Maglubiyet on my side. And I will not just stand here while my friends die around me!" As her fear washes away it is replaced with a deep anger. The blackness from her fingertip extends and covers the whole hand now, and it starts to crawl up her lower arm. A weak red glow shows, somewhere deep in the black of her mysterious eyes.
"The humans must feel the pain they've caused us! They will not go unpunished!" she thinks and charges towards the purple robe, heedless of her own safety. Since she cannot reach him directly, she starts to climb up the wall of the boathouse, using the planks nailed over the windows as grip and the glass shards in her hand as some kind of climbing irons. This should deal more damage to her hand, but it just does not.
When Grace face shows up on top of the vessel, it is a grimace and embodiment of wrath. The robe notices her, and casts a ray of frost at her, but it does not hurt her but turn into steam instead. "Finally, an opponent worth fighting." the robe says boastfully, pulls the javelin out of his leg and throws it away.

Wants chases after the humans chasing the goblin Age just healed. The goblin next to Grace joins him. They manage to deal light damage to both of the humans. Walks takes on the strongest and fresh fighter, while the other goblin attacks the already wounded and burned one. The strong one deals one damage to Wants, while the other deals none to the other goblin.
"Hey, you know any cool card games, slaughtering humans is getting a bit boring" Wants boasts.
The goblin who just got healed by Age, turns around and uses the opportunity to stab Berin, who already got a lot of wounds, dealing him medium damage.
"Why do I carry all this armor if those little devil find all it's weak spots." he complains to Aristad, who tries kick the goblin behind him, but fails, since the goblin is fresh again and easily skips back a few steps.

Thinking the spider, Nauhir, and the goblin can handle the couple humans, Tinkers scrambles out from underneath the spider, which is busy entangling the human, to figure out what happened to the archers in the tree just south of him. He runs over and climbs up the tree.
The one armed goblin and Nauhir kill the last human, who deals Nauhir some damage in return before he collapses. Then they both retreat towards Age, since there is only the spider and the phalanx of four humans left. The goblin pulls back Thumbs. Age feeds him the last drops of potion she got, and he awakes, but is not fully healed.

"This is great..." WalksBriskly mutters as he tries to grab the Medic and heads for the chief and his comrade.

Snaps keeps on attacking the person that used a spell on her, by now foaming and frothing at her mouth, her eyes all willowed over and looking as if something inside her snapped. She scratches, kicks, claws, bites, hits, head butts Divya with all her might, paying no attention to Age or anyone else, without any regard for her own life, growling and barking like she's gone completely nuts.
Divya takes a few blows without any emotion, then she grabs Snaps like this around her throat:
Image
But she does not hurt her, instead Snaps starts to snore, still being held up by Divya with one hand. "Poor misguided and confused girl." Divya says and puts her down on the grass.
Age looks a bit shocked after that. "Thanks for not killing her. I think it is the same people attacking us like last time when they also chased you, but with larger numbers this time. Are you here to help, or only out of curiosity?" Age asks, a bit annoyed by Divya's calmness.
Divya looks at the yellow spider, which is attacked by the four humans, two protecting the group with their shields, two stabbing at the spider with spears.
"I came out of curiosity, but I might help." she answers calmly, but then adds with a much sharper voice "Though I still owe you one punishment, don't think I will forget it that easily." As if she just did not say that, she continues with a cheerfull voice. "Well, you are lucky - I like big yellow spiders!" Divya answers. "Lets-" she starts, but then she is gone. "To hell with that mage" Age swears. "Mags, please help us get rid of him!" Age prays, but there is no need for that, or it is Mags mysterious way to help. When the human teleported Divya into the lake, he teleported back on his platform. But then, his gleeful grin froze on his face. When looking down, he could have seen a dagger sticking in his chest, but he could not see, since it was Tinkers dagger. In panic, he teleported into the lake again without orientation, but Tinkers held tight to him and stabbed him again. They fell down on Walks and the archer. Tinkers stabbed the mage a third and last time. The mage went limb and floated on the water.
But they had knocked out Walks, who was unconscious now. The archer and Tinkers tried to use him to not drift down any further, but the current pushing against their bodies made Walks slowly slip along the water surface. "If he does not wake up fast enough, we all are going to fall down." Tinkers thinks and starts to shake Walks to wake him up.
They are close to the burned boat now, but it's oars are drifting behind it.
Further northwest, human corpses and an intact boat are heading in their direction, too, but slower than they drift. But it should be able to reach them with swimming.

The chief, his comrade and the human try hard to swim into safety.
The water elemental moves west and extinguishes another fire and puts a human corpse onto a raft, after the purple robe went back into the southern vessel again and left the elemental on auto mode.

The archers on the western platform keep shooting at the group south of the spider, setting the grass around them on fire. But oh-oh, one of them hit the tree. It starts to burn now. The water elemental looks like he does not like it at all.

Age gives orders to the goblins around her. She wants them to help Wants and the other two goblins take down the two humans. Nauhir understands and attacks, but his teeth have problems doing damage due to the chain mail. The one armed goblin follows him, but he looks afraid by the heavy armored humans.
Suddenly, Age is spooked by a wet Divya and a wet medic appearing in front of her.
"Now I am annoyed. I hate water." Divya says dead steady. "Well, like I said, you a very lucky. Now it is my battle, too." she raises her voice and starts to sing a beautiful and inspiring song, but it is a strange language. It contains much low and bass sounds. Like you would expect from a tree or a rock, if they could speak. Even Tinkers and Flies on the far end of the battle have no problem hearing it, though they should not, since it does not sound loud enough.
"GrummmRaahhhtoooonwoorahhhtruuuummboooor..." Divya sings.

Meanwhile, the humans in the south seem to get ready to attack. It just would not be possible to fit any more troops into that vessel than getting into formation in front of it now.

Battle:
Wants is down on 5/6 hp.
Grace is down on 4/5 hp.
Walks is unconscious.
Flies, Punches, Coats, Cowers are out of battle as long as they do not attack something again.

Turn 87
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Flies stands between Norma and Plays, the one-eared goblin, although he is not able to see her.
"None of you will hurt a healer who has surrendered or you are no better than the humans that are attacking us. If you want to avenge the injuries you have taken or the comrades you've lost then attack the humans who are actually trying to kill us."
"What? Who said that?" Plays asks confused and apparently calming down.
"It's Flies" the goblin fighter beside Punches explains. "She is invisible."
"Oh!" Plays says.
"I advise you to leave. Many of us have nothing but hatred for humans."
"Thank you, oh thank you so much! I will tell my children about the invisible goblin that spared me. They like goblin and kobold stories..." Norma snivels. "Can I take a boat to get back? Or a plank? I cannot swim..." Norma pleads to Flies, who already showed mercy to her once.
Flies points to the small rowboat that she just retrieved her javalin from "You may take that boat back." Norma, not seeing that and where Flies points to, looks confused, but since there is only one boat behind her, this has to be the right one. She walks toward it, repeatedly bowing down towards the goblins. She is covered in cold sweat.
"Wait!" Punches yells.
Norma spins around and looks shocked.
Cowers, in a blind panic runs by them after climbing down from the archer.
Punches points to the goblin healer behind him.
"Give whatever medical supplies you have left to this goblin. Dump everything else you have, except your clothes. Then leave."
"Shureshurenoproblem!" Norma rushes to him and hands him her bag, takes off her belt equipped with a knife in a scabbard and a small pouch.
"Onlyaknifeandsomeherbsandbandages!"
She runs over to the boat, pushes it into the lake hectically. She slips on the pebble stones when she is hip deep in the water, but does not care about that. Very quickly she is in the boat and starts to row northeast, away from all the battle and goblins and dead people.
Cowers drinks her healing potion while running, healing all of her wounds. But this does not cause her to stop running, although the north is secured.

"Let's get down here, we can't shot from here, we have to go south!" Bones commands the archers. They climb down and run into the center of the warcamp to. The one on Cowers platform even was so nice to pick up her bow.

Plays gives all fallen humans a death blow, just to make shure. Then he picks up one of the dropped shields. Punches takes the other one, which would give him some more def, if he would not be wielding a two handed weapon. He put's it on his back and together the groups runs towards the ongoing battle in the south. When they pass the ear and Punches steps on it by accident, Plays complains "Hey, don't step on my ear. Somebody might be able to re-attach it later!"

Snaps is sleeping, blissfully oblivious to the ongoing fight. Who knows, maybe she's even dreaming?

Close to her, the goblins surround around the two humans knights. With Walks, Nauhir, the one armed goblin and two more, they are five versus one. Wulfheart deals some more damage to the goblin with the shield, knocking down to zero hp, but he also receives two blows. One from the knocked out goblin, one from the goblin behind him.
Aristad, the stronger and taller human Wants is fighting with, does a mighty swing all around him, just when Wants wants to do some more boasting. Wants deflects it with his shield, but it is strong enough to damage the shield and lowering it's defence to two.
Nauhir is small enough not to get hit, but his attacks are useless against the chain trousers. He more or less only distracts the human by running around his legs and trying to bite him. The one armed goblin is not that lucky, he receives a deep cut.
Wants only successful attack is nearly cancelled by the humans heavy armor. It only deals minor blunt damage.

Coats comes running and ends up being right behind Wants. Neither him nor the other goblins in the boathouse decide to care about the human boy, who is very very glad about that. Poor exits the boathouse trough the front and climbs up right behind Grace, while the other goblins climb up through the latch again.
"Oh, more guest. But I am sorry, this is a one on one fight." the purple robe guy says and uses a suggestion spell on Poor and his men, that they better go after the human who tries to escape with the boat. No need to interfere in his fight with Grace, which she will win for sure. They nod and jump into the water, trying to catch up with Norma's boat, which is much faster then they are.
Grace wastes no time. She furiously throws herself at the purple robe. She tries to scratch his face with her black hand peppered with glas shards. The red glow in her eyes gets stronger and grows. She shreds a sleeve of the robe, leaving behind bloody scratches. The man cast some kind of sonic attack, which feels like running against a wall, but only deals minor damage to Grace. Just one hp.
He lifts his staff and says "Magic weapon - bull's strength."
He swings his staff and hit's Grace on her head, dealing another two damage. Only two? She is able to scratch over the leading weapon hand. From where he hit her, blackness starts to spread over her skin, and a trickle of black blood runs down her forehead. Grace remembers her dream from the last night. She was shooting fire. Grace jumps at him, scratching right through his face while trying to channel the anger into fire, erupting from her fingers. But it does not work. The robe defends himself with the end of his staff. Grace jumps right into it, receiving another damage. Grace faints when she hits zero hp. "Ah, you make that too easy for me." the robe says, and lifts his staff for the final blow.

The elemental walks towards the fire in the tree. Angry it raises it's arm and sprays a huge wave of water at it. It washes away the four humans, the knocked out goblin. The spider jumps back. Divya and Age join the spider, while the goblin medic joins the goblins fighting against the two humans around Wants.

"..." WalksBriskly lies atop the water, slowly being drug towards the waterfall.
"Hmm...We need to wake him. Help me with this."
Tinkers and the archers shake Walks, but it does only result with him sliding faster towards the waterfall.
"WAAAaaaht happend?" Walks shakes his head groggily, when being poked by Tinkers with one of his normal daggers.
"We need to get to shore Walks. The current is dragging all of us down." Tinkers explains.
Walks tries to tow them towards the burned boat, but it does not work. So he runs after the boat and the mage corpse, and stops them. It is close enough for Tinkers and the archer to swim to it. Tinkers is even able to grab one of the oars on his way.
A human corpse comes drifted by and overhauls the boat, while Walks slows down the boat enough for Tinkers and the archer to climb into it. The fire did not burn deep into the wood, the boat is still solid enough to carry them. But the current get's faster and rougher so close to the waterfall. West of them the robe exits the vessel, and spots them. He waves angrily at them, and the water elemental turns around very fast. It pushes aside a raft and a mast.
Appears and his comrade are glad it does not come for them again. They are lucky, the robe is on the other side of the vessel and does not see them, clinging to a piece of mast.
The human who was thrown into the water with them, continues to swim west.

Grace is dreaming her last dream again. A goblin shooting fire, which turns to be out is her. The human hit's her with his staff, but to him it feels like hitting air. It wents right through her from his point of view. When he pulls it back, it half of it is gone, with it's end turned black and smoldering.
Grace skin is no all black.
Then there the sound of sizzling water and crackling flames behind the mage, like in a cauldron bowling over a fire.
Slowly he turns around.
There is some gigantic, and it... it got the face of the goblin he just knocked out!

Battle:
Grace is down on 0/5 hp ... and not, at the same time.

Items:
Punches:
1 medium iron shield (+3 DEF), which he cannot use.
Wants:
medium iron shield (+3 DEF) => medium iron shield (+2 DEF), damaged

"Hmm...Take this. Start rowing." Tinkers says while handing the oar to the archer. Then he hauls the casters body onto the boat while Walks rushes to grab another oar while muttering
"Crap, crap, crap."
Walks runs back and hands the second oar to Tinkers. He and the archer start to row as fast as they can for the shore, while Walks runs at the mage with the intention to distract him and his elemental from the others. Another boat comes drifting and bumps into Tinker's boat. It gets into the way for the archers oar, who jerks it to the other side. It is hard to row the boat with both oars on one side, but the get closer to the shore, but also to the waterfall. More debris drifts towards them, and there are human corpses in the water all around them.
The water elemental jumps over the vessel like a giant wave and intercepts Walks before he can stab the mage. A large mock of a hand slams down on him and grabs him, knocking the air out of his lungs, and picks him up. He is surrounded by water and right in the hand of the elemental. The mage laughs at him and points at the boat. The elemental turns towards Tinkers and the archer again.Walks did not receive damage, but he has not much air left. Soon he will start to drown.

The chief and his comrade use the former mast beam as swimming help, and swim out of the strongest current. The human in front of them grabs another unconscious fighter, while the other one close to him drowns and dies.

Further west, Divya does something to the yellow spider, healing some of it's wounds. She still is singing her strange song. The humans get back into formation, and continue to attack the spider. Both sides manage to deal some damage to each other. One human even hits Divya once, who ignores the wound. Age runs behind them and grabs the injured archer. She got no healing potion left, but at least she can drag him to where he will be safer.

In the center of the warcamp, Cowers continues to run towards the storage shack, while Bones and his men start to climb on the huts in the southeast of the warcamp, droping Cowers bow on the way.

Wants looks at his shield in shock "..you..y..ou..broke my shield..."
He looks at the human and back to his shield again, while the human uses the opportunity to deal some more damage to the one armed goblin. "YOU BROKE MY SHIELD !!!!" Wants yells while he flips out and attacks the human in a frenzy.
But all the shield smashing and sword bashing does not deal any damage to the human. He is to strong, to well armored and a to experienced fighter. He is nearly twice as large as Wants after all. He uses all his benefits without mercy and deals three damage to Wants, who does not concentrate on his defence as good as he could. He also deals another blow to the one armed goblin, who is thrown back, falling right on top of Thumbs and does neither move nor stand up after that.
The human also kicks Nauhir right into his belly, sending him flying into the bushes nearby.

Coats attacks the human in front of him, and has more luck than Wants. He pushs hard at the shield of the human who is already heavily injured, and stabs with his sword behind the shield at the same time. The human falls on his knees and drops his shield.
"Take my sword to my son, Aristad." he gasps and blood is running down his chin.
He throws his sword in front of Aristad, and then raises both hands and looks at the sky, awaiting his death.
Which comes by the goblin behind him, who stabs him into his exposed neck. He falls over on his chest and is dead.
Aristad looks very angry now, at least the part visible between his beard and helmet.
With an angry attack, he stabs the human so hard he is lifted into the air and thrown against and then upon the medic behind him. Coats can hear an ugly crushing sound of breaking bones inside the goblin, before the human pulls back his sword and drops him onto the ground. Wants, still raging, manages to deal minor damage to Aristad's exposed back, while Coats looks at the now dead goblin.
The medic yells in terror, with the blood dripping corpse lying on top of him.

Punches glances to his left and sees Poor and his friends jumping into the water.
"The hell......?"
He then notices the flames flickering above the boathouse.
"......huh. Don't go into the boathouse - I think it's on fire. Wouldn't want to get trapped in there........."

Ignoring the fire for now, he continues running south, towards the humans. His group arrives just in time to see Aristad kill the goblin. Punches is a little ahead of them, since he can run faster with his increased size. He wants to attack the human, but Coats and Wants happen to be in the way. Punches however pushes himself right between them.
Flies wanted to throw a javelin at the robe, but he is to far away from the edge of the vessel, and the vessel is to high. So he happens to be out of sight for her.

Poor and his men continue to swim after Norma's boat, who rows too fast for them to catch up.

Grace is still dreaming, while the elemental raises a hand and starts to advance on the robe. but then it turns around. It seems like it spotted the water elemental now. The flames of the fire elemental burn in an angry blue for a second, then it rushes towards the water elemental. Chief Appears happens to be right in it's way. They look shocked for a split second, then the dive below the water surface.
The mage tries to hit Grace again, but he only burns away more of his staff. He cast an ice ray on Grace, but it does not deal any damage and turn into steam instead.

Battle:
Wants is down on 2/6 hp.

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

"Glug glug!" Walks glugs as he struggles inside the elemental, trying to swim his way out.

Flies runs south between the bushes and Walks, a javelin ready. But Divya and the spider still are in the way, so she can't throw it at the humans. She turns left and sees the robe on deck of the boathouse, approaching Grace again, after the fire elemental rushed away.
"You are interesting. It is a shame you have to die." he says.
Flies throws her javelin at him, but he teleports away, taking the javelin and Grace with him.
Grace body flickers for a moment, like if a strong force tries to keep her where she is, but then she is gone, too.
When he returns, the javelin is sticking in his back.
Flies invisibility fades and ends.

Tinkers just focuses on rowing the boat to shore before going over, or getting hit by the water elemental. South of him, something falls into the water, right between the human corpse, which are close to fall down the waterfall. Some already did. A pillar of steam arises from where the thing had dropped, and there is a loud sizzling noise. Bubbles reach the surface of the water and join the steam.
Then Walks at Tinkers, thrown by the water elemental and followed by a huge splash of water. Walks hits the water behind the boat hard and faints due to the damage. For a second he remains on the surface of the water, than his potions seems to fade and he sinks in. When the water hits the boat, it is pushed towards the waterfall, before it capsizes and they fall into the water.
Tinkers manages to grab Walks so he does not start to drown, but the other goblin burns his fingers when he tries to grab Grace.

Then the fire elemental reaches the water elemental. Both his fists grow larger before turning into rays of fire, penetrating the water elemental. It fights back by splashing water at the fire elemental. But it has no effect on him. The fire elemental's flames turn blue and burn even hotter, then the water elemental collapses. But the fire elemental starts to fade, too. The last thing it does before it is gone, is throwing a powerful lance of fire at the purple robe at the shore south of it, leaving behind a trail of steam, smoke, fire and scorched earth.
Just when the fire elemental is gone, Grace awakes and yells something in a strange language the other goblins don't understand. Seconds later Grace, Walks, Tinkers and the other goblin reach the edge of the waterfall and she faints.

After the light of the fire elemental faded, Appears and his comrade return to the surface. Their beam is scorched by the elemental.

Cowers presses herself up against the front of the storage shed and frantically works on loading a new quarrel into her crossbow. "All dead," she murmurs, tears forming in her eyes. "We're all going to die..." she cries, not knowing much about the course of the battle after she ran away.
She struggles with reloading the crossbow, but after a while she manages to do it.

Snaps however, is the calmest goblin in the whole camp at the moment, sleeping close to the battle.

While Age runs to the medic trapped below the goblin corpse, the human slowly falls back, with Coats, Punches and Walks advancing on him, and more goblins behind them.
Bones shots and arrow on his back, setting his cape on fire, but not causing much damage, since the human is fast and throws the cape at Age.
The other archers are giving Divya and the spider some support fire. One arrow sets the shoulder of one of the shielded fighters on fire, the other flies wide and only hits grass.
The humans deal more damage to the spider and some to Divya, until the spider disappears.
"Oh, my beauteousness, you were only conjured?" Divya asks calmly, while the humans stab her with a spear while advancing on her, now the spider is gone. She already took some severe hits.
The humans in the south look a little bit shocked after their leader, the purple robe, just got burned away, but when one of the humans fighting Divya shouts "Help us, goddamn!", they start to advance.

The center of the battle, however, is still Aristad.
Coats steps over his fallen comrade his eyes never leaving the human who killed him.
"BASTARD!!!"
Punches charges the human, putting all of his enhanced strength and weight into a downward slash on the human's sword arm shoulder, but the human turns and raises his shield in time. But the axe attack is to powerful, and rips the shield from his arm and nails it to the ground. Punches is still busy pulling his axe out of the ground and shield, when the humans sword zips forward and cuts into the side of his throat, dealing four damage. Blood sprays on Wants left eye, while Punches sinks to his knees. This looks even more awful because his potions effect wears off and he shrinks at the same moment.
The human wants to attack Punches again, but Wants throws his shield at him and instantly grabs the new shield from Punches. The thrown shield forces the human to raise his shield, which gives Coats an opportunity to attack.
His sword stabs deep into the armpit of the human, dealing him heavy damage. The human spits blood and has problem to breathe, his left arm hangs limply at his side. He drops his shield and grabs his sword with his other hand and jumps back a few steps.
The medic behind Coats jumps to aid Punches, and gives him all left in his healing potion. This brings Punches back to two hp. He also puts a bandage on the goblin next to Punches. One hear thinks about stabbing another human while running, but decides to help Wants first. The other goblin runs until he is right behind Coats.

The medic trapped below the dead goblin, hands his healing potion to Age.

The spiders in the south seem to be terrified by the ray of fire which went over their heads, but then they start to climb up the cliffs.

Battle:
Flies is visible again.
Walks is down on -2/5 hp and knocked out.
Grace is down on 0/5 hp and knocked out.
Punches is down on -2/5 hp and then back on 2/5 hp.

Turn 90
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

While chief Appears and his comrade get closer to the vessel in the south, the swiming human reaches a boat. The human army in the south advances, and so does the spider army. While the small ones climb through the trees, the large ones run over the ground, jumping over obstacles.
The humans did not yet notice them.

At the waterfall, Tinkers grabs Walks and tries to swim to shore as hard and fast as he can. The archer does the same with Grace. But even with not trying to save the other goblins, they would not have made it, they are just too close to the edge.
Tinkers gets one last glance at the four of them, then Grace and the archer are gone.
Age hears something, sounding like an echo of a low voice, Grace's voice "...I respected her!".
Confused she turns her head - then she looks very angry and says "Grace-no!". With a snarling voice she turns at the human, her eyes all dark. "Now you pay!"
Tinkers manages to get hold of a small rock looking out of the water. It's hard for him to not loose his grip on Walks, but he manages it. But then the burned boat hits the stone and pushes away his fingers.
He swallows water for a second, then he is out of the water - and in mid air, falling down, still clinging to Walks.

Flies throws her last Javalin at the robe, who is overlooking the battle from the large vessel.
This time, he sees it coming, and steps sidewards to avoid it.

"...dammit........brilliant timing, stupid, useless potion........" Punches mutters and falls back to loop around the fight. Wants closes gap between himself and Coats.
Coats continues to attack on the human, who only got his sword to defend himself now. But down on one arm, he shows even more what a capable and experienced fighter he is. All hits Coats can score, hit armor and deal no real damage, while Coats gets another cut worth one damage. Wants doesn't even score a hit, he is too busy defending himself.
Coats can sense his kins distress all around. Tinkers failed attempt to save his drowning tribe mates, Walks pain, Cowers overwhelming fear as she attempts to flee. To any other goblin - well ok not Tinkers - it might have been overwhelming as he's friends distress just get worse. But Coats eyes just get steely as he raises his sword and bashes it against his shield to make a BANG sound.
Coats sends a message of emotions to Cowers. Its a mix of hope and bravery, loosely translated it would be like this " Do not leave your tribe to die, we can win this fight but we need your help! Help us! Help me."
Then he lets loose a war cry as he suddenly charges at the human.
" I WILL KILL ALL OF YOU! FOR EVERY FRIEND I LOSE I WILL KILL TEN MORE OF YOU!" roars the normally silent goblin, slashing wildly at him. Aristad deflect his attacks with his sword, while he kicks on Coats shield to stop him. He receives some more hits but none cut through his armor.
Then, out of thin air, Age jumps into Aristads flank, feet first. The goblin can hear a rib or two snap. Like being broken in two parts, Aristad takes a few stumbling steps to the right to avoid falling down. But Coats continues to rush on him, and finally the goblins manage to knock him over. He falls on his back. Punches slashs at Aristads head. Most of the attack is taken by the helmet and chainmail, but he deals a deep gash into Aristads face, right beside his eye and down all the way to his chin.
Age draws her knife.
The human, blood running down his face, starts to laugh.

Cowers heads into the storage hut, taking a few ragged breaths to try and calm herself. "We have to get out of here." She says to herself, quickly grabbing the two phials of liquid darkness, a new short bow with 10 regular arrows, a short sword, a set of flint and steel, and a ration each of dried fish and vegetables.
She finds everything she wants, except for some healing potion.

Snaps, whose magical slumber seems to fade off, smells the blood of the nearby fight and starts to stir and twist uneasily in her sleep. When Punches cries out "BASTARD!", Snaps' ears go up, and soon after, she is able to best the spell that kept her subdued. She shakes her head once or twice, trying to clear it, then she sits down on her hind legs, lifts her chin skywards and gives out a mighty, bloodcurdling howl. After that she charges the close-by human knight, teeth bared, aiming for his throat.
But before she can reach him, the mage pops in, grabs the knight at his shoulders, and both are gone.
Snaps end up biting into the grass.

Age uses her healing potion to heal all unconscious goblins around her enough to wake up.
"We are out of potion." she says while Thumbs, the archer and the one armed goblin stand up.
"Everybody who still can fight, go help Divya!" she commands.

"Hmm...shouldn't we fall faster?" Tinkers asks the archer while they float downwards, watching the burned boat crashs into the rocks at the bottom of the waterfall and splinter.
"I prefer this to what happened to the boat." the archer answers. He is still holding Grace and also grabbed Walks, while Tinkers also grabbed Grace. They look like a formation of parachutists falling in slow motion.
"She spoke something in a strange tongue, maybe that caused it?" the archer suggests while another boat falls down beside them, followed by a mast-beam.
"Hmm..." Tinkers answers and watches another human corpse fall down.

Battle:

Turn 91
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Hearing Ages' command Flies runs south-east and attacks the human with the shield in front of Divya, followed by Punches, Wants and Coats.
"Damn teleporters........" Punches curses while backing up Flies.

Cowers' confusion turned into a cry of frustration. She was a coward at heart. She held no delusions about that. But in all her time spent running away, never before had she left someone behind. She already knew what she was going to do. She just didn't want to do it.
Finally, turning around, Cowers runs along the east wall of the storage hut until she can see the far southern group. On the way she notices that not only her courage rises, but also her size, since the potion wears off.
Going down on one knee, she takes a breath and takes aim at one of the southern knights, figuring the distance and windage so as to help ensure she hits. Well, if she gets a free line of fire, at the moment the other fighters happen to be in the way.
Coats sends a mix of emotions to Cowers - pride, gratefulness and hope. He also tries to tell her that he'll reach her as soon as he can to help. She feels a little bit more protected.

Snaps scrambles back to her feet and indignantly spits out dirt and grass. When she takes a quick, superficial look around, she only sees goblins and human corpses. So, there's really no immediate reason not to run after that stick that Flies had just tossed away...she runs to the raft behind the bush. She is having some difficulties with fitting the shaft of the javelin into her mouth, then Snaps starts to trot confidently back to Flies. On her way back, she almost stumbles over Nauhir, though, and she immediately forgets about the stick, dropping it in shock. She runs next to the wolf, bleeding from many wounds and nudges him very gently in his side with her nose. When he doesn't react at all, Snaps' ears sink visibly and, giving off a soft whine, she starts to lick his wounds clean.

"Get that human and melees out of there, Age!" Bones yell from the roof, adding "We are about the set the traps on fire."
"Change of plan: get Divya back here!" Age shouts at the melee group. Flies, who was first and already did score a hit on the first human, falls back, together with Divya, who looks not like she wanted to retreat. But nevertheless she follows the goblins. Punches keeps the human at distance with a wide swing with his axe, covering the retreat. When Coats and Wants reach them to provide cover with their shields, arrows fly over their heads at the group of humans. Nearly all of them hit and set the humans on fire. But it is not only the flame oil that burns now. The humans slowly walked into one of the oil traps Bones and Poor set up, which is now on fire, causing extra damage. With much screaming and flailing arms the humans run around, blind in the wall of fire. Only one finds the lake, but it is too late for him. His injuries are too vast. He collapses in the knee-deep water and dies.
Meanwhile, Age and the medics continue to bandage the goblins, while two of them free the medic trapped below the dead goblin.

The humans in the south stop when they see the wall of fire, while the human who just dragged the injured human into a boat not only sees the fire, but also a large group of spiders advancing on the human army. He yells "Spiders!" and decides it is a good time to become a coward. He turns the boat and starts to row away hectically. Some of the other humans return around and lock frightened.

The spiders advance very fast and attack. While the small ones mainly jump and crawl through the trees before they attack, the large green ones directly charge at their enemies like a very heavy warhorse. The human formation breaks while most of them turn around to defend themselves and fight back.
One of the green spiders bites one of the horses, while another one grabs a human around his waist. Without his armor, he would have been cut in half, but still, he takes heavy damage. The soldiers fight back and manage to take down a few of the small black spiders, but it is very hard to penetrate the skin of the green ones.
Suddenly one of the humans is on fire and screaming. Looks like Cowers finally found a line of fire and re-entered the combat.

Appears and his comrade climb onto the southern vessel and look into the hatch. The chief looks at the spiders finding, then they enter the vessel through the hatch on it's roof.

Down the waterfall:
"Hmm..." Tinkers answers and watches another human corpse fall down.
"Perhaps. Let us hope it lasts until we reach the bottom."
The last human corpse and a loose sail falls down. The wet cloth hits the archer and Grace, but the archer manages to free them and shake of the cloth. It regains it's falling speed and soon is gone. Tikers also notices that they are not only floating down, but also away from the waterfall.
Suddenly, the slow fall effect fades and the fall down, luckily they were still over the river. With a painful speed they hit the water surface. Instantly they are spun around but the rough river current and loose any orientation about where is up and down and fight strong to get back to the surface. Tinkers manages not to let loose of Walks, despite of him bumping into a stone vey hard with his shoulder, receiving one damage. After a few seconds, the river calms down and gasping they are able to get back to the surface and breath again. The archers swims very hard with the current, since he lost Grace when they fell into the water. He manages to grab her before she drowns. After they floated for a while, the river bends east and they are able to get out of the water at a sandbank on the outer side of the river bend and west of it's course.
Tinkers drags Walks over to coast of the river and pulls him up out of the water. "Hmm...I think he has sustained too many injuries." gesturing at Walks. "How is she?" looking over at the archer and Grace, who's skin turned back to blue.
"She is breathing and her heart is still beating." the archer answers. He is one of the hunters, who's name is Beats a bear, Bear for short.
"We need to find someway to help them, or someway to get back up." He takes a few moments to look all around him. He sees the giant cliff, towering over the landscape. The forest to the west gets dense very fast, while the forest on the hills to the far east seems lighter.
To the south there are plains. Close to the river bend, he can see a few buildings, some of them larger than others. Maybe a farm or small settlement.

Suddenly, Grace glows for a second and awakes with a loud gasp and looks at them with wide open eyes. The hand which's fingertip was already black before is still black, and so are the narrow lines around her eyes, but her eyes and skin are back to their old color.
Grace feels stronger now, and hears a gentle and warm echo in her head. She knows it is Maglubiyet, but she does not know what happened and why she is sitting on a sandbank, soaken wet, in front of a giant waterfall. With a slight shock she understands that this is the waterfall at the lake and that they somehow got down here. But the shock is gone very fast, since she now knows that her god has chosen her. The knowledge has been set in her head by himself, when he borrowed her body. If she lives her live to serve him, she will achieve great power. GRACE HAS GAINED THE CHANCE TO BECOME A CLERIC!
The gift he already gave her gives her a glimpse of that power. She has learned a spell and can cast it once per turn. Well, with everybody around being seriously wounded, she will have no problems to practice it.

Battle:
Nauhir stopped bleeding. (Good job Snaps)
Tinkers is still on 2/5 hp.
Grace is back on 1/5 hp.

Map:
Tinkers, Grace, Walks and the archer enter I11.

Traits:
Grace:
Cleric to be (you can get cleric levels now.)
Spell gained: Cure minor wounds: cures 1 point of damage.

Anti-confusion-information:
@All: Since somebody mentioned it: The ramps in front of the vessels are not leading onto their roofs, but into their inside. To get on the roof, you either have to climb up the walls or enter it using the hatch leading into the insides of the vessels.

Turn 92
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

"How did we get here?" Grace looks up, still treating Walks with her black hand.
"Grrr..." WalksBriskly will grumble in his sleep, thinking of his wolf friend.
"Hmm...I will try to explain quickly, but I'll have to leave some details out. One way or another we all ended up in the river, with Walks and you unconscious. The current was too strong for us to overcome, and we went over the waterfall. Right before we did however, you spoke some words I didn't understand, which I think is what allowed us to fall without dying. The river carried us for awhile before we were able to drag you two out, and then you woke up. As for why your skin has changed colours, I have no idea."
After Tinkers sees Grace put her hand on Walks, and notices his wounds close up, he asks "How are you doing that?"
"I've been gifted by Maglubiyet. Graced you might say.." Grace smiles. "I think he saved us from the fall!"
"Maglubiyet saved us? Hmm..."
With Grace healing him again, Walks regains consciousness. He still is too weak to stand up or move much, which he notices when he tries to bolt up, but falls back on the sand right away. He shouts "NAUHIR! Where's Nauhir!"
With pain in his chest, he lies still and looks around.
"Where the hell are we?"
Tinkers says "Calm yourself. We four fell down the waterfall and have been swept down river. Nauhir is most likely with everyone else. We shall return to the camp as soon as you can walk."
"And how do we get home?" Grace asks. She realizes that she has been saved by her friends. But she was also saved by the hand of Maglubiyet. And she's been graced. Her devotion grows stronger and deeper, and for a while in all the misery, she feels happy.
Bear only shruggs his shoulders and suggests "By walking?" he looks at the enormous height of the cliff and adds "By much walking...".
He checks his equipment and is not satisfied with what he finds.
"Anybody got more arrows? I'm down on four."
Grace wants to reach for her equipment, but she notices she lost her bow and the arrows in the river. But she still got the bandages and the two potions in her medic bag.
She notices that none of them got a backpack, since they went into the battle without them.

Tinkers spots two corpses further along the sandbank. But none of them is the mage.
"I will be right back." he says and jumps to loot what he can. The humans looks very nasty, beaten and cut up, and the water made their wounds swell. Their clothes are only rags, if not before the waterfall, for sure after they fell down. It looks like the tried to get rid of everything heavy to escape the current.
He only finds two sets of rags, and a purse with twelve coins in it. And an arrow sticking in the back of one of the humans. He collects the items and walks back to the group. He suddenly feels slightly better and notices one of his wounds healed and closed for no reason. He regained one hp.

Bear walked up the bankside and took a closer look at the settlement from there. When he comes back, he reports "I saw nobody and the crops seemed to have died since nobody watered them. It looks abandonded."

Back in the warcamp:
Cowers puts her crossbow away. Spotting her old bow and quiver lying a short distance away, she quickly snatches it up, runs back into position, and shoots a burnoil arrow at one of the knights. She does not hit him, but the rear end of his horse. It rises and bucks, throwing of the knight and kicking the spider with it's hooves. But since the spiders mandibles were sunken into the chest of the horse, the horse rips open it's own chest by bucking around. It kicks around some more and hits a small spider and a human, then it collapses and is dead. The spider's mandibles are stuck in the horse, which tips the spider over to it's side when the horse falls. It flails around with four of it's legs, trying to get loose of the horse. The knight, however, gets up very quickly, despite of the damage he received from falling down, and jumps forward to stab his sword deep into the spider, between it's head and body. The spider finally rips free from the dead horse, and knocks the knight over with it's front leg whipping at his legs.

Punches continues falling back to Age and the medics. The humans do not attack, since they are busy burning and running around, trying to find water. One of them sinks to his knees right in front of the goblins, killed by the flames.
The other two are running away from the goblins, one towards the lake, one towards the spiders. The one running to the lake collides with the human Cowers set on fire last turn. One of them falls onto a raft, the other one into the water.
Since no human attacks, Coats, Punches and Wants have some time to rest.
The humans are too busy to fight the spiders. The green spider which grabbed the human around his waist, finally manages to kill him. It stabs two legs into his belly, and rips his lower and upper body appart and sends them flying into two different directions. The other humans manage to take down more small black spiders. One human hits a green spider and destroys some of it's eyes, but it bites into his sword arm and truncates it. Then it pushes the injured human to the small spiders behind it. Two of them start to entangle the screaming human in spider silk.
The second knight manages to deal some damage to one of the green spiders, but it breaks of his lance after the hit with it's leg, forcing him to fight with his sword only for the rest of the battle.

Behind this battle, the chief and his comrade reappear on the back of a mule. With one hand Appears directs the mule towards the battle, with the other hand he helps the other goblin to point a lance at the humans, which would be too heavy for one goblin to lift.

Flies notices Snaps and runs over to her.
"Snaps what are you..." Flies starts to ask when she notices the unconscious Nauhir
"Thats Walks' wolf and you stopped the bleeding well done."
When she notices that tone of Flies voice as the orange female praises her, Snaps looks up at Flies, excitement and cautious happiness shining from her eyes.
Flies picks up Nauhir gently and brings him over to the medics.
"Can someone help him?"
Snaps glances at Nauhir with a worried furrowing of her brows as he is picked up and carried away, until she understands that he will be taken good care of by Age and a medic. The other goblins around pick up some of the shields lying around on the ground. Most of the archers do not shoot, since they are more likely to hit a spider than a human. Bones, who got no line of sight on any enemy, jumps onto the other roof, and end up being right above Cowers.
"Nice shot girl." he compliments her after setting the horse of the knight on fire.

Snaps sits down and scratches her head with her foot when Flies comes back to pick up her javelin. Flies frowns when she spots the saliva on it and looks down at Snaps and asks
"Did you fetch this for me?"
Snaps, head tilted and panting contently, barks once.
" Thank you."
Flies looks around for a target to throw her javelin, but all humans she can see are either dead or burning.
After receiving more praise from her, Snaps casually pads over to rub her head against Flies hands. With a "tink" noise, something small and covered in blood drops from Snaps' head to the ground.
It seems to be a little cut gem the size of a pebble, covered in Snaps blood, but the parts which are visible look translucent and are shimmering like copper. After a few seconds, the gem seems to glow, but then the glow starts to grow and rise, until it is a half translucent sphere of light, floating about one foot over the gems.
A human eye and nose appear. Then the human seems to step back, until he looks like a moving bust. He got a beard and a robe like a mage, but he looks young.
"Test, Test...ok it works."
The mage moves away and vanishes, only to be replaced by another bust of a mage, this one looking much older.
"We are recording this, so others may be able to learn from our studies, might they fail or be a success. The subject is a young and healthy goblin female, which was captured only a week ago."
he pauses for a second.
"This is day zero of the project. Since the subject struggled against our tests very much, we had too use mind altering magic to put it asleep until all the splinters had been injected. After that, a cleric sealed the injection wounds with healing magic to make sure the splinters stay in it's body. After the healing was done, we removed the mind altering magic and put the subject back into it's cell."
The bust of a mage looks sideways.
"Stop the recor-"
Then the bust and the light is gone.

Turn 93
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Flies stares in horror at the spot the light disappeared for a second before regaining her composure. "Well that explains some things" she mutters while pocketing the gem "I'll show this to Age later."
Flies then turns to Snaps "Do you want to help me recover the rest of my Javalins?"
All too glad to get a bit of distance between herself and Divya, who is far too close for Snaps' comfort, but which the others don't seem to deem dangerous, Snaps follows Flies to the houseboat. Inside the houseboat, Flies climbs the ladder and enters the roof through the hatch.
But the vertical ladder is an obstacle Snaps can't overcome. She stands up onto her legs, a bit shaky and slightly leaning forward onto her arms, as her nails scratch across the wood and gives off a little whine.
After retrieving the Javalins Flies spots the human fleeing on his rowboat.
"I'm sorry but I cannot allow you to escape and risk you coming back with more."
Flies throws one of her Javalins at him and nails his leg to the boat. But he even rows faster now and ducks, and he is already close to the range limit for a javelin throw.
When Flies disappears from Snaps' view, she barks after her, short and soft and only once.
Then she notices the smell of the human stable boy, hiding behind the horse, and who was covered by the smell of the horse and the burned wood until then.

"Th-thanks." Cowers replies to Bones and lifts her bow again to fire... Then spots Appears. "Wh-what is Chief doing?!"
Shaking off her shock at Chief charging towards the battle, Cowers raises her bow, takes a few seconds to aim, then fires on the still-mounted knight. But the arrow only hits his shield and the flames fade fast, touching only non-combustible material.
"Ok, lissen up everybody!" Wants yells and he hits his shield a couple of times.
"The spiders can't kill all those humans all by them self, so let's give them a hand, shall we
everybody who still able to fight, follow me ,archers in the back melee in the front !,
let's show those hairless apes, that you don't mess with a goblin and get away with it.
LET'S GIVE 'EM HELL !!!"
When Cowers hears Wants banging on his shield and divulging his plan, she shouts "What?! No! No charging!"
"No, were not charging, even if the humans are to buzy with the spider, a frontal attack would be madness. We just have to get close enough, for the archers to get a clear shot. the melee is just for protection."
"B-but I've already got a clear shot!" Cowers points out.
"Hmmm.......we can't leave the Chief on his own. Stay here, I won't be going far." Punches says and moves quickly south and west, circling around the battle humans versus spiders.
"Oh ..wait you do...oh, well that makes my whole dramatic last charge thing a bit stupid." Wants laughs awkward.
"Well then go shoot me some humans, I will..euhm keep an eye out for humans, to kill, yeah I'm gonna do that...wants says awkwardly, but...stay in group if we split up were going to loose lifes here, strength in numbers you know, we can't loose anybody else. cause that stupid chief of use..."
But the chief seems not to be as stupid as Wants thinks. He does not charge the humans directly, but rides around them, to the west, until he meets Punches. They turn the mule aroud, so it faces the humans again. From this side, no spiders happen to be in the way for an attack.
"Are you with me?" The chief yells, directed at Punches, who is busy wrapping a bandage on his arm. But without any experience with first aid, it falls of when he starts to move again. But the other goblins can hear the chief, too. Especially Coats, who happens to be right above the chief, after he ran to the tree and climbed the archer platform, and who is busy right now taking out his bow and quiver from his backpack.
Some of the goblins run around the fire trap and kill the last burning human. Another human died burning on one of the rafts and set it on fire, while the only one who reached the water runs towards the other humans fighting the spiders.

The humans keep fighting the spiders. Another human goes down by the right green spider, but so does another small black spider. The green spider facing the mounted knight and the knight on foot, takes much damage, since the knight on foot concentrates on hitting it's eyes. The left half is only goo, while the mounted knight stabs it with his sword again, destroying another eye. She got only three of eight left and is a little bit disoriented. The green spider left of her climbs over the dead horse and receives a hit from a spear. The humans left of it kill another black spider, before the leftmost green one reaches them. It stabs one of the humans with his legs, knocking him over, but the other human uses that chance to cut of the spider leg.

"But...We fell off the Waterfall! That's...That's gonna be some trouble getting back up..." Walks says, thinking of what he has on him. "I got one of the carpenter's axes and some flint. We could make a signal fire to tell the others we're alive..."
Grace continues healing Walks, while she talks to Bear. "Do you know how far it is around to go home right now? Will we be able to reach the camp before nightfall? Maybe we should rest in the barn, and look for something to eat because I'm starving."
"No chance to make it back today. The cliff is many hundred meters high, and it goes on for a long while in both directions. I'm not even sure if we can make it in a week." Bear answers and looks up, just like Tinkers, who seems to be absorbed in thought.
"It is close to evening, we should check the barn. But we have to be careful. It looked empty, but we have no idea which races and animals are living down here."

Battle:
Walks is back on 1/5 hp.

Flies:
1 cut gem from Snaps

Turn 94
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

"What is that idiot doing now..." Wants says with much frustration looking at the chief.
"Ok, everybody keep firing at the humans, I'll just stand here and stuff." Wants says, despite of the archers either already firing, or not firing at all since they got no safe line of fire.

Coats shoots at the knight, but again, it is only armor which catches fire. Bones shot is not much better, since it gets stuck in the saddle. With his hand the knight whips away the burning arrow and then uses his cloak to put out the fire on the leather. Well, at least those shots distracted him for a while.
Cowers nocks an arrow and shoots one of the less armored human soldiers. With his back turned on her, he does not stand a chance and she scores a perfect chest hit from behind. He sinks on his knees and is dead. Seems Cowers gets really used to shooting, especially shooting at humans, just as if COWERS HAS GAINED THE CHANCE TO BECOME A RANGER!

Punches puts the bandage away again, making a mental note to learn some first aid once the battle is over. He then turns back towards the mule. And the chief. Whoever...
".....yes, I'm with you. But, we're too badly injured to go charging in - we should pick off the guys at the edges, while the spiders keep the rest busy."
"Yes, hit an run!" the chief yells and drives the mule on the humans. Together, the two riders manage to point the lance on a very unlucky human, who turns around just the moment the lance reaches his head. Let's not get further into the details. Just thus much: he does not survive and collapses while the chief moves the mule away from the humans for another attack. Punches then runs forwards and swings his axe, but the green spider rushes into the gap the death of the two humans Cowers and the chief killed opened. This way, it also blocks the line of fire on most of the targets, except for the mounted knight, who is now nearly surrounded. Punches backs quickly to the north, and ends up close behind the spider.
But not all humans are that easy to kill. The knights in the center prove that they are worth their guerdon. Together they manage to take down one of the large green spiders, one of them even got an attack left to kill a small black one. But then they are surrounded by the green spiders. Another human backs up to the knights. He and the knight on foot receive medium damage. One of the black spiders carries away a human the right green spider knocked out, which looks hurt very much too. The black spider on the left side finished entangling the human and carries him away.

Further north, Age and the medic finished bandaging Nauhir. Bandaging a being covered in long fur is much harder than a goblin, the medic mutters.

When she becomes aware of the human boy, Snaps' ears go flat once more. Growling softly, she prowls ever closer, keeping her eyes locked onto him, not a move of his escapes her. At a good distance to pounce him she halts and starts to bark incessantly at him, but is also mindful of the horse and its reactions.
Flies lifts her javelin and takes aim, but then she notices that the human is already too far away to waste another good javelin. She climbs back down the ladder.
Alerted by Snaps barking, Flies raises her spear ino the boy's direction.
"Who's there? Come out!"

Down the waterfall:
"Hmm...I agree. We can use the barn as a secure position to sleep, then try to find a way back in the morning. We can probably find some scarp wood in one the those buildings for a fire."
"Right. Let's be about it." WalksBriskly says, following Tinker with his spear ready.
They start to walk to I12, while Grace stays behind for a second. She decidese to use her
new-found healing power on herself. A warm sensation tingles in her body as the magic does its work. "I better be careful so I don't get addicted to this..." she says to herself.
"Let's get moving." Bears says, who stayed back with her.
They follow Tinkers and Walks on a safe distance. Grace tries not to be too visible, which would be hard as the plains are quite wide here. But on the other hand, the grass is very high and does a pretty good job hiding them, especially from the distance.

Tinkers says "Let us start with the barn here." and sneaks into it, taking a look around. While Tinkers tries the northern gate, which looks like a main door, Walks creeps around the back on the south side, making sure there are not any other entrances. But there is one. A similar large gate like the one on the north sie. Looks like the barn has been constructed to be accessible from both side in equal measure. Walks does not find a small door or a window. But the most disturbing thing he notices, is the barricade in front of the south gate made of crates, carriages, barrels, furniture. On the inside, Tinkers notices that the south gate itself is nailed shut with beams and planks, while there are loose planks and beams spread on the ground around the north gate. Looks like somebody hid himself in here and barricaded the gates. Later, they left through the north gate later. There are not traces of a fight in there. Behind a crate Tinkers finds a human child skeleton, sitting on the bottom in a crouch and with it's arms around his legs. Without a warning, they eyes of the skeleton start to glow in a frosty whitish blue and it lifts it's head, looking directly into Tinkers eyes.
"Are they gone? Is it over?" the skeleton asks. It sounds like the voice of a child, but distorted to sound much deeper.

Battle:
Grace is back on 2/5 hp.

Traits:
Cowers:
ranger to be (you can get ranger levels now. 1st favored enemy.)

Anti-confusion-information:
@Nioca/Cowers: Choose 1st favored enemy from list:
http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/SRD:Ranger#Favored_Enemy
You deal 2 more damage against that kind of enemy, and you get a bonus on all tries to all bluff, spot, sense motive, listen and survival checks for them.
My suggestion is humanoid (human) since that is all Cowers shot at so far, but you may choose what you want. ;)
