They look somewhat strange. Try to make bodies and clothes.

They're nice, though they're pretty small for my preference. I'm sure you'll make it work.

@ gamecreator - I'm trying to make them ECR's style. I want to keep the art simple and not getting bodies and stuff. There will be equipment though, including armor. I will post in the future an image of them equipped.I think maybe what makes them starnge is the shape of the head? I think I should make it more circular. Thanks for the feedback.

@ thinklogically - I want them small. Last time I made a game the sprites were too big. I might change them if they are too small for the other things I will make. Thanks for the feedback.

@Borys - It's hair, the green goblin is suppose to be a female. Should probably change it. Thanks for the feedback.

Hay bob :)
Glad to see you back on the painting feets again :)

So.. since i was in your old game, I'll comment accordingly :)

I Like these, especially for the purpose, Going ECR style is a thing I think will help you greatly... it makes it more easy to make poses, and that is what takes up a lot of time.
and as a bonus, its not to far from your original style, so you can still keep a feeling of "you" in it :)

As Thinks say, they are a bit small, but that's not a problem by it self. Yes, It will limit your options in expressions and so on... but i think you'd like to focus on the dungeon run it self first... so that is fine... the small faces will make people not look for expressions that wont be there anyway :)

I'll look forward to see more... say if we can help you in any way :)

Well, honestly at first I thought that this is Jewish goblin. Seriously first thing I thought of. Anyway I like it simple. I liked the idea of time travel and zombies, but still I'm looking forward to your game.

A Jewish goblin... :waitwtf:

And thanks for the feedback LAYF. Next thing I'm going to make is poses. But not today.

It's easy to scale them up later if you decide they're too small- its much harder to scale down. So my comment before is purely personal preference, not a big criticism! layf is totally right, i think that style will work well for you, but don't be afraid to mix it up if you need to :-)

Ok. I got some basic poses, let me know what you think.

Image

Explanation on each pose, from left to right:

1. Climbing a ladder
2. Blocking/Fighting. (Actually I'm not really sure myself, fighting will probably have other poses)
3. Running away ("Oh shit oh shit oh shit")
4. "Oooh! Shiny!"
5. Jumping over a gap.
6. Going through a tunnel / crouching.

Any feedback is much appriciated.

reply in order:

1: Works fine... but I do wonder why he is off to the left side of the ladder.. not a problem.. just wondering...
2: Works good for parry/block... also fine for attack wit a sword at 45 degrees.. but... not so good for attack hand attack... try making the front arm horizontal and the other arm bend more behind him... migh work :)
3: fine too... I'd lift the back most leg a bit... to give the sense of a "flying state" that is involved in running....
4: seems a bit "unbalanced... try to bend the back most leg, might help...
5: a bit stiff... try using the bend upper body as in 4
6: Nice :)

Ok, these are a great start. However, without the speed lines, I'm not sure I'd get the sense of movement. Have you tried googling images of stickmen that you can try to copy? There are a lot of them out there and they really helped me. For example, the guy running needs to pick his feet up and bend his knees or else he just looks like he's standing and yelling. Same with the guy jumping. The guy crawling needs to bend his knees!

There is something wrong with the last one.
He looks like he was kicked to death or something.

Ok guys, based on your tips I made a new version:

Thanks for everyone for the feedback, tell me what you think now.

About fighting poses - I will only make these after I got some items ready, since each item is going to need a different pose and it will be easier to create a pose with the item.
