12 Dec 2013 - "I know you!"
So yeah... Kore is coming!
I'm happy and scared at the same time to see him again.
Also, we seem to have new info on him. He is the last of the Greyhill paladins? Wonder what that means.

So I guess the question is now, just how much *does* he know about Kore? He already knows more than we do.

I'm surprised MinMax could remember the name Vorpal Kickass'o.
Also it seems Complains has some Demon Healing, since i can't see any holes in his back.

Well he knows enough that his reaction is "oh no" so I guess he's not expecting to buddy up with the Paladin

That might be an error, Thunt had some of them in the last few pages. But I do hope he got an ability from becoming a demon.LazyEmperor wrote:

What Forgath said might put some more light in all this.
All ya D&D masters out there: is it possible for a paladin to do evil because of a curse upon him and stay a paladin?

Wait, even the "good guys" are afraid of Kore? Hell, this guy is bound on killing everybody, be it good or evil, human or monster. Nothing is safe in this realm. Can someone remind who exactly were the Greyhill Paladins and whether we know anything about them?

Re: 12 Dec 2013 - "I know you!"
I'm feeling pretty confident now that he is the last surviving paladin that imprisoned the demon in the Axe of Prissan. Only one paladin survived that event, and Kore is the last remaining Greyhill Paladin. We know he's cursed, so he could either be cursed by the demon or cursed as a result of the "secret and even forbidden magics" used to create the Axe. He's chased down owners of the Axe before, and he's obviously familiar with the weapon.
Keeping this up until the Kore mystery is resolved: paladins do not get their powers from deities, and D&D does not operate on subjective morality.

The map below is relevant to the "Last of the Greyhill Paladins" line. Also, I have to draw in Names' back wounds. He hasn't healed 'em.

You know what I find interesting? The fact that we don't see Kore in any of these panels. I bet next page will feature a scarier-than-death-itself Kore looking reaaaaaaaaaaaaaally pissed off.

You can "kind of" see Kore in the middle panel where complains is shouting ... if you squint enough that is.LarsenSan wrote:You know what I find interesting? Actually, we see him in exactly the same state we saw him last: very far away. In fact, we might not rejoin him until he tries to enter the Dragon's Maw where our heroes will be safe with traps.

Re: 12 Dec 2013 - "I know you!"
Since Forgath recognizes Kore, and seems to know enough to be very afraid of him... this suggests a good reason why he might take MM's racist axe to use in the upcoming battle. Everyone has been predicting it would be used, and now we have an explanation of how/why.

I didn't expect them to disengage so easily. Then I remembered that there is such thing as a turn order in this world .
Maybe now we'll find out what Kore's deal is. You know, besides the whole killing people nearly indiscriminately thing.

Things can't be good if Forgath is going "Oh No" when Kore shows his ugly beard...

HA! Fun thought. What if Kore was Forgaths old character? Entirely unlikely and without any evidence or foreshadowing but a fun thought none the less.

Cue Kore Shooting Forgath in the head right before he gives exposition about who, or what, Kore is.
Because that would be just tragic.

Good update. I would say more but the only thing I can say right now is: the character I relate best to in this comic is Fumbles.
Thank you THunt for depicting his mental state accurately.

Re: 12 Dec 2013 - "I know you!"
I had a second thought. Forgath is destined to die at the hands of another dwarf. If Kore = Forgath's previous (unlikely) or an alt-Forgath (maybe?), that would satisfy the requirements. Forgath "dies" at the hands of another dwarf... himself. I didn't want to mention it a couple updates ago in case that's indeed what the story ends up being, but it's an interesting theory.Kamos wrote:HA! Fun thought. I really like that it's going to so quickly throw them onto the same "side" as the GAP, even if they don't want to be. I'm glad that Forgath knows that Kore is NOT an ally right away!
