How far have we come?
Does anyone know how far along the story we are? Is Goblins halfway complete or more? I am really hoping we haven't even hit the halfway point.

This is all I've seen about that:

Re: How far have we come?
Even if we finished the MoM tomorrow, I figure there's still the trip through the other dungeon (Dragon's Maw?), as I doubt they're all going to get killed by Kore, The End. Once they get out of the dungeon, there's also still the problem of the end of the world. So, yeah, two or three decades of comic left.

You forgot to reunite Dies Horribly with the GAP, and as he is now Chief of the Cryptic Clan, with his tribe.RidcullyJack wrote:Things that still have to happen, once the MoM is done:Places still to visit:► Show Spoiler► Show Spoiler
Also, we will surely get to see the reason why Dies' full name is "Dies Horribly". We know from THunt, that it is not a play on words, so it's likely that we will get to read something about it. :(
Ah well, if we get to read about it, it's likely that Dies' will not see the GAP or his village again. :(
We he die as a hero defeating Junior?
And will we get to see Baka, Yodette, and Tuck again, in their respective new characters? Someone needs to keep the statistics as bad as they are, and these three seem to be made for it...

Re: How far have we come?
Explain why GS is part tree--corollary: explain the tree-Kin in the MOM. Thunt specifically said that he can't talk about her...yet.
Meet the wizard whose magic made the self-reloading crossbow and tree-people.
Explain connection of Saral Caine to Cryptic Falls clan.
Explain why Thuntverse has so many bizarre and very high level magic items and places when most characters are low-level and only have basic magic.

Re: How far have we come?
We don't really need an explanation about GS and his treeness. Then again, it might be connected to the wizard, and I'm thinking he might be a big part of it later.
THunt has also said that we will see Fox's clan, so that will take a while to get to.

Re: How far have we come?
Is it same wizard that made the Stone giant/human hybrid Saral Caine and the Lizardman/other creature, K'sellis? Or am I making K'sellis being a hybrid up?

Re: How far have we come?
Thunt said that we will eventually learn about Tree-Kin, so I assume this will shed some light on the whole situation. In other words we do need an explanation of the tree people because Thunt says there will be one. Since he specifically said he couldn't share it or stick it into an alt, I think the plot will get there at some point. The part about Saral Caine being part giant is not confirmed, nor is the part about K'sellis being part ogre. But the whole thing is kind of suggestive somehow. I am sure we will get some sort of explanation of why Saral Caine had a Cryptic Falls belt buckle. I can't imagine that the rumor about him being part giant won't come up. Maybe he's half-goblin and half-stone giant?

Re: How far have we come?
I always assumed he had the Cryptic Falls belt buckle because of Thaco, and that perhaps Thaco's eye scar was Goblinslayer marking him in response to this.

Re: How far have we come?
Yeah, but Thaco never had the symbol for the Cryptic Falls. The only times we have seen it is on Chief's crown, and on Saral Caine's belt. It would seem that only the chief is supposed to have that symbol. If that is true, then Saral Caine (and possibly the wizard that made him if he is the hybrid stone giant) must have a connection to the clan of the cryptic fall, other than Thaco. Thaco was never the chief, and he never got the crown.

Re: How far have we come?
The storyline made a big deal of Chief's reaction when he saw the buckle, and a big deal was made of the Thaco/GS backstory. I would think that something would have been said by now if the answer was that Caine got the buckle from Thaco somehow.

Well obviously the Cryptic Fall clan is the result of the same mad wizard's experimentation. That's why they're multi-colored.

Re: How far have we come?
Thaco left because he was meant to be chief. I wouldn't discount the possibility of him bringing a chief's crown with him when he left.

I would rather think that Saral Caine's belt and Cryptic Fall's crown are both connected to something else (like DrinksTooMuchCoffee theory for an exemple).

Re: How far have we come?
Nah, the Wizard once got a prophesy, that his endless power will meet a cryptic fall. And the Wizard is trying all to prevent that from happening.DrinksTooMuchCoffee wrote:Well obviously the Cryptic Fall clan is the result of the same mad wizard's experimentation. The clan's cryptic fall from power may have been engineered by the Wizard, but he had scruples killing them all. So the clan survived.
And everybody thinks, the clan's name has to do with the Cryptic Waterfalls.

Re: How far have we come?
I always thought that maybe Saral Caine was the Barbarian who killed Kills-A-Werebear all those years ago, and took his crown as a trophy, which means Chief would have been wearing a replica. Unless I'm way off here.

Re: How far have we come?
It's as valid a theory as any other I have heard, but unfortunately there is no proof of that either. Can anybody think of something that Saral did that would mark him as a barbarian?

Swinging a battle-axe, wearing minimal armor, and the way he speaks to Big Ears all count for something, I'd say.

Re: How far have we come?
This is basically my line of thinking, but my theory starts to deteriorate as we get to Minmax, who up until recently did pretty much the same thing except he used a sword. Of course, his lack of armor could have been due to his low level.BuildsLegos wrote:Swinging a battle-axe, wearing minimal armor, and the way he speaks to Big Ears all count for something, I'd say.

Re: How far have we come?
IIRC, Minmax was wearing full plate armor. It just looked like a smaller shoulder pauldron. It's a DnD rule that allows the Drowbabes of the world to wear chainmail bikinis and get some benefit from it other than a horrible rash. Basically you can choose whatever physical appearance you like for your armor even if it defies common sense.
