New Site Background
Is anyone else having problems with the new site design? On my screen certain elements like the blog and the comic strip are well off to one side and do not line up with their boxes on the stone wall.
I.M.E. explained. http://www.goblinscomic.com/08042006/

Re: New Site Background
Oh. Hehe.
I didn't scroll that far down the time I saw it this morning....
I like it, but indeed, once you scroll below the comic image, the blog seems cramped. The left border moved nearly to the middle of the screen, thanks to the Axe of Prissan.
And the twitter feed moved to the lowest end.... (together with the ad previously shown on the right side bar)
I'm sure these are starting problems, and will get fixed up sooner or later. :)
Can't remember the Kliks changing shape on "mouseover" this morning. Cool...
This design would have been great during the dungeon, but now that we're about to leave the dungeon to return to the GAP, the old design would seems better (IMHO), as that one is more "outdoorish".
But then, the GAP is about to enter the "Depths of the Dragon's Maw".
Edited to add: and the comic seems to not anchor itself at the correct place.

Re: New Site Background
it just looks like the active elements of the page are misaligned, however i do like the design overall and particularly the klik arrows at the bottom.
i think Thunt said something before about having to remove the design that was created by blindferret so it had to be different.

well presumably this is the long term design so it has to make some sense in the context of the whole comic, and there are plenty of dungeons throughoutKrulle wrote: This design would have been great during the dungeon, but now that we're about to leave the dungeon to return to the GAP, the old design would seems better (IMHO), as that one is more "outdoorish".

Re: New Site Background
I got lured to read the full comic because of the friendly brown/green colours when I first met Goblinscomic.

Blind Ferret has asked that I remove all traces of the site design (which is only fair, since they were nice enough to pay for it). So for now, weÔÇÖve got bland blackness. But fear not! A new, awesometacular site design is in the works!

Some alignment problems still, but I'm sure they'll be fixed soon. Overall I like the general feel of this much better.

I noticed that the "double arrow klik" doesn't lead to the Altsplations 80" page, but to the last "plot" page.

Re: New Site Background
For me, it looks better now than today morning when I last checked but the update clock and the kickstarter 'thank you' seem to be in the way of the comic page. I sure think this will be fixed soon, too.
I am reading on my Samsung s3, btw.

Re: New Site Background
Shouldn't double arrow Klik go to the very beginning?
And I like this much better than the previous--not saying Thunt shouldn't advertise his own game, just the mustard brown color was kind of blehk. I like this though.

Re: New Site Background
I'm very pleased with the new layout!
I'm also impressed with how quickly most of the issues were addressed. I've tried Firefox 22, IE 10 and Safari (for iPhone OS6) and they seem to be aligned correctly, though that's far from an exhaustive list.
At least we'll be reminded of Klik with every 'click' of the archive navigation buttons, from now on. (>*_*)>

Hey! Why are you reading this? It's bad for your eyes, and there's nothing to see here; no words of wit or sage like advice.... Nope, none of that crap... Still here? Well, I guess you can stay for a little while, but no touching. Ok, MAYBE a little bit of touching, but don't expect a kiss... Oh, and don't expect me to cuddle afterwards, either. This is purely physical in nature, and you can't REALLY want something serious after everything we've been through? Fine... 20 seconds of heavy petting, and that's IT! Annnnnnnd done...

Oh, just noticed he actually changes into an arrow when you mouse over him. I was wondering what you all were talking about.

Re: New Site Background
Looks like it's fixed for me now too; the Axe of Prissan is still above the blog post instead of to the left of it, but otherwise everything is fine. And I agree that the Klik-arrows are cute, although having the word "Archive" at the bottom between them is a little jarring; I might have replaced it with the Face of Boe Brassmoon Wall instead. (When you mouseover him, he could open his mouth and the word Archive could appear in a dialogue baloon.)

Re: New Site Background
I like the design, but for me the blog stuff is below the grey box with the AoP in it rather than in said box (as I presume it is intended to be)

Re: New Site Background
still a touch of 'leftness" for the blog and twitter on mine (chrome) but other than that it looks great! I have to say that I LOVE the Klik buttons! (I would like to see a new archive graphic as well).

The problem is the ADBLOCK feature in Chrome.
I'm going to email this to thunt now.

Re: New Site Background
For me, it seems generally "fixed", but it feels wider than it used to be. Before, it would fit in the width of my browser (not set to full screen - but set wide enough for my purposes, and wide enough for goblins). But now I have to scroll to the right a bit to see the full strip, or the twitter feed, etc.

Re: New Site Background
Works fine on my desktop computer with Firefox and Chrome. It doesn't work well in Safari (6.0.5, iOS 6.1.3). The alignment is ok, but the links to the archives, the forum and so on don't work, I think because they're not at all designed for iOS/Safari (they never worked, it's not a problem of the new layout).
Also, the forum just has the standard generic layout and colours if you're using Safari.

Hmm I guess that if we want the website displayed properly we need to disable the ad blocker ....
Thanks for the hint.

Re: New Site Background
you don't have to completely disable it, just add the site to the allowed exceptions. don't forget to do both the .com and the .orgextrabigmehdi wrote:Arles wrote:The problem is the ADBLOCK feature in Chrome.

Re: New Site Background
I'm sure Thunt would really appreciate it if you disabled adblocker on the comic site, anyway, if you don't mind. Ad views are a large portion of his income.
