Can anyone other than a techy use an infiltrator? And does an infiltrator give us control of the infiltrated? What happens if a jetpack is upgraded?

Or, I'm hoping, carry another minion while flying. Speaking of which, are there carrying capacities? I ask because some people will be using 2 or more equipment. I.e. What is the quipment carry limit? Because a tricked out minion may help the group more than individual survivors.

Edit: Oh, unless people want loot, the left side looks easier than the right.

I'll choose the building on the upper right. It might be good to save another intelligence bonus for later on in the game.

Second level spider mine can get either +15 damage, or +5 splash damage, or +1 tiles / turn moving speed.

Infiltrator can be used only by a Techy, as he is wise enough to know how to operate it. As a rule of thumb if you see a class name in a description, it means that the object can be used by that class. If you see no name, only "user", "player", "minion" or similar or nothing, then it can be used by anyone. You will get some options for what to do in an infiltrated building/tower, once you are inside. It depends on what structure you've gotten into, and I wouldn't want to spoil it just yet.

Jetpack on level 2 can be upgraded on vertical or horizontal thursters. Which means either +1 height difference to subdue, or +1 tile / turn movement. Carrying other minions around with a jetpack would require some massive upgrades, so don't count on it just yet...

EDIT: Forgot to answer to carrying capacity.

Each Borgling by default can be geared up as the following:

Armor: helmet, armor suit, boots.
Back: 1 big item (e.g.: jetpack, forcefield generator, flame tank for flamethrower, etc.)
Hand Carried equipment: 1 in each hand. Each item counts as "1 handed", unless stated otherwise.
Probes: These things fly / move around the player as far/near as the player wishes them to. If they insist on holding them, then 1 in each hand (they count as hand carried equipment).

Sam chooses to hack into the database to gain information about the 2x2 quadrilateral building on the top-right of the map.
He learns the following:

"Development Center"
HP: 1000
Damage: 0
Function: Every 5 turns it adds an upgrade to an existing building, tower, or probe. This upgrade can vary from better AI through increased attack speed/damage to higher resistence to hacking attempts or to practically anything. The target of upgrade is selected randomly, and the effect is random too.
Loot upon destruction: 2d3 Scrap, 1d3 batteries (Charge)

Since Sam went for the large building, I will choose the small towers, the kind of which there are more on the map.

With those values, I definitly will go for that building. If we don't take over towers, it will either upgrade itself or one of our probes every 5 turns. :D
But lets wait and see the stats for the towers first.

Can a Speedy's extra equipment come off of someone else's list?
Does Speedy light armor only last 4 dam total, before needing to be recharged?
Same question for Bulk's Heavy armor and handheld shield?
What would an upgraded recharging kit do?
What does an upgraded infiltrator do?
Can there only be one unit in a square at a time? So, people can't move through towers?
How many movement points does it take to move 1 diagonal?
Do multiple BalistaBot benefits stack? (I'm guessing no.)

How many movement points does it take to move 1 diagonal?
Look at the picture in his signature, especially the range 2 picture. Seems 1 diagonal costs 1.41... (root out of 2) movement points, so you can only move 2 diagonal if you got at least ~3 movement points.

Correct me if I interpreted your pictures wrong.

Looks to me like you'd only achieve 2 diagnol with 4 movement points, limited by having to count 2 vertically and 2 horizontally.

Yes, there do seem to be two of each. This was why people have been describing them in more detail than the tower or the building.

@Gathers: It is the more common kind we gathered intelligence about. While one seems to be twin cannons, the one we now know about is a machine gun tower.

Those could be rather dangerous if there are two and one gets its AI upgraded. They would start calculating what to upgrade and how. o_0

The extra equipment from someone else's list will go to that someone else by default. If the Speedy wants it, he has to ask for it. ;)
Think of this extra equipment bonus as the following: "You are allowed to take one more piece of your starting gear options", whomever the Speedy tells this.
Trading any equipment around (whether it's a starting gear or an extra starting gear) is up to you. Only limit is in the description of the specific item.

Armor is destroyed when it has absorbed all the damage it took. Force Shields can be recharged (worn on the back), hence the "charge" in description.

Decrease in cooldown between usages, Ability to "overcharge" from level 3.
What does an upgraded infiltrator do?
Better chance in succeeding with the infiltration. Better chance in succeeding with activities after successfully infiltrating a target.

I haven't fitted the Borglins graphics to the screen yet, but I wanted to fit 2 players and a maximum of 4 probes on a single tile. This might go down to 1 and 3, if it doesn't work out.Targeting will be single even in this case, unless the weapon has "splash" damage.
Ground units cannot move through ground objects, and air units will be blocked by air objects. Air units can fly over ground objects, and ground units can duck under air objects.
Right now the only air objects for you are copterbots and people waltzing in jet packs at N+1 height.

You are guessing right.

@Dlover:
No, upgrades will be always random on effect, and target. It's becasue else it should be then mathematically modelled to choose what to upgrade (nearest to enemy encounter / farthest / around specific object / etc.), which I seriously CBA to do for a forum game. :) If a development center gets upgraded, it will likely have one of the following: Armor upgrade (+HP), Development Upgrade (faster cooldown), Efficiency Upgrade (2 targets at the same time or 2 upgrades for the same target), etc.

HOWEVER. If you wish to create a custom map to be destroyed, I allow you to build an "Overmind Outpost" where you can define what to upgrade / use each turn, in private message. It will be a kind of PVP, though. :)
