I'd be happy to multiclass into rogue somehow. I feel like ranged combat is cool and all, but I could be contributing more to the group in-game.
Edit: Just thought I'd put my thoughts on this here so I can stop thinking about them, instead of making another post full of numbers and chatter. I'll spoiler it, since I've been writing a lot of walls of text lately.

If I were to respec Born right now, I'd almost definitely go Ranger 2/Rogue 2. It's not just an optimization thing; I legitimately think it fits the character. Born's pretty amoral, and he's constantly off doing his own thing, so it's not hard at all to imagine him seeing some badass monster and deciding to make a subtle exit so that he can snipe it while it's distracted.
Mechanics-wise, like I said before, Born doesn't seem to be as useful as the rest of the party. Studies has a really open-ended set of abilities that have proved to be endlessly useful in a dungeon environment. Hears can deal insane amounts of damage and heal himself while he does it, while Drowns can absorb insane amounts of damage and hurt you while he does it. CaP can heal people and deal piercing damage at the same time, and he can make anyone better at anything, and I have no doubt that if Quarg starts posting, Boom's mechanical skills and alchemy will be invaluable. Plus he's got a friggin' gun.
Meanwhile, Born has fancy psychic powers, which have been pretty useful and mostly just fun to write for, and he's got the Jabbawack, which I totally need to turn into Black Smoke's spear gun or something, but on the field he can attack at range with elemental arrows, use Charged Shot for extra damage, and, like, identify plants.
If he was at Ranger 2/Rogue 2, though, he'd have Charged Shot and Sneak Attack for DPS, ranged weapons with elemental ammo, stealth and trap detection/disarming, and stabilizing in addition to mind reading and a shapeshifting weapon. Not only is he good at a little bit of everything, including stuff the party would have a little trouble with, but Charged Shot and Sneak Attack work together perfectly. Think about it: Sneak Attack deals piercing damage if no one knows you're there, which is easier to pull off at long range, and Charged Shot deals extra damage if no one hits you first. But if no one knows you're there, then of course no one's going to hit you first, and that means all of your boosted damage goes right through the foe's defenses. If Born's got 1+3 attack and a +1 arrow, that's 8 friggin' piercing damage.
Final point: Butterfly Effect (chance to miss entirely and accidentally hit every enemy at once) is hilarious and awesome. How hilarious would it be if he managed to land it in combination with Sneak Attack?
