1) My backstory basically has him as a roaming forest nomad. I was thinking he could maybe be someone who wandered across the shipwreck from the land? If you want all the PCs starting off with amnesia though, I don't mind him waking-up on the beach instead. It's gonna be super weird for him though, since he's supposed to really dislike civilisation (so why would he be on a ship?)
2) Instead of taking the background+class equipment, can I do a wealth roll instead? Should be (2d4)x10gp for a Druid, assuming I'm getting this right.

Hmm. Well, it could honesty work out either way.
The amnesia is all plot related, and all players thus far have already been actively drawn into the plot. (I almost gave away some huge spoilers. *phew*). There are compelling reasons your character would have been aboard ship, but you wouldn't know them in any case.
Your choice. As a concept, it can make sense either way.
EDIT: Come to think of it, I would have a slight preference you have been on the ship with the others, but that's just so I don't have to rewrite anything. Either way still works.
You can roll wealth if you want. Shouldn't make a big difference.
