Or perhaps a dedicated healer specifically built to follow asks around and scrape his corpse back together.

Those looks good Spider and Thinks.
Seems like a plan Quarg, if nothing else here is the free (fully legal) link:
http://dnd.wizards.com/products/tableto ... asic-rules
@Thinks
You really think one healer (no matter how dedicated) will be enough for Asks?
The OP has been edited with a digital map instead, and some info about the areas has been added.
Before the game starts, youÔÇÖll all get some background information from me that we will tweak together, maybe some secrets (oooohhhh) based on your character.
But before I decide what to tell you guys, I need some information I need from you about your characters.
-Where are you from: This region, this kingdom (What region then), or from one of the other kingdoms
-Why have you accepted this escort mission: money, travel, other intentions, ect.
-Do you know any of the others before hand.
-Why have you been allowed free travel (If you have that is): This can be multiple things, adventures guild, official employment, paid for it, high status ect.

Re: The rolling mountains twenty treasures (ooc)
honestly layf, I'm happy for you to tell me where Elara is from. It'd be somewhere large enough to have a spymaster who takes apprentices (Elara would have come up through that path). Whether she's here to investigate this guy secretly or openly would depend on what you decide the political relations are between her patron and the missing noble I guess. Might be a bit too much detail for a one-shot if you don't already have ideas
As for her ability to travel, Elara usually has a sponsor (either legit or forged by her spymaster) for whatever front she's presenting depending on her current task. All her jobs come from her spymaster, so there must be some political motivation for her being here.
Quarg - it's roll 7 drop lowest

Re: The rolling mountains twenty treasures (ooc)
Sounds good. I have a lot of bg and story hooks ready, and I know witch one will fit right in here.
Will send it when I'm at a pc again tomorrow... Night time now..
Quarg, as thinks say.
Roll 7 times 4d6
For each 4d6 drop the lowest.
The. For all 7 results, drop the lowest again. Resulting in 6 4d3 stats.
Or 6 times 4d6
For each 4d6 drop lowest.
The difference is that with the 7 you must keep the order they come in (a so called organic character)
While with the 6 you may place them as you wish.
On the other hand, the 7 gives a higher average score.
Last thing...
I forgot to mention, if you want a god, I use the forgotten real phantoms

Re: The rolling mountains twenty treasures (ooc)
Well not much choice here is there...
4D6.HIGH(3) = [1, 5, 4, 6] = 15
4D6.HIGH(3) = [4, 6, 5, 2] = 15
4D6.HIGH(3) = [5, 5, 3, 1] = 13
4D6.HIGH(3) = [1, 1, 5, 3] = 9
4D6.HIGH(3) = [2, 3, 3, 3] = 9
4D6.HIGH(3) = [5, 5, 2, 5] = 15
4D6.HIGH(3) = [5, 5, 2, 3] = 13
So lets make our Paladin a Half-Elf so we get
STR 15
DEX 16 (+1)
CON 13
INT 10 (+1)
WIS 15
CHA 15 (+2)
4D6.HIGH(3) = [1, 5, 4, 6] = 15
4D6.HIGH(3) = [4, 6, 5, 2] = 15
4D6.HIGH(3) = [5, 5, 3, 1] = 13
4D6.HIGH(3) = [1, 1, 5, 3] = 9
4D6.HIGH(3) = [2, 3, 3, 3] = 9
4D6.HIGH(3) = [5, 5, 2, 5] = 15
4D6.HIGH(3) = [5, 5, 2, 3] = 13

Re: The rolling mountains twenty treasures (ooc)
Yeah, LAYF how much freedom can I have in the background characteristics?
See I'd like to do:
Trait: I don't pay attention to the risks in a situation. Never tell me the odds.
Ideal: Honesty. Art should reflect the soul; it should come from within and reveal who we really are.
Bond: Something important was taken from my God, and I aim to recover it. (Changed to work with the character)
Flaw: I have trouble keeping my true feelings hidden. My sharp tongue lands me in trouble.
These are a mix from entertainer and criminal but the normal criminal stuff doesn't work for a DEX Paladin...
I'd also like to switch out the thief's tools for a disguise kit since that is the other tactic of spies...
My thought is my character is a brash, half-elf who is sworn to defend the honor of Curna against those who use their gifts granted by Curna to serve Abbathor, Bane, or Cyric. His own poetry is only occasionally found to be decent, but is always overshadowed when compared to his mother, the Actress, Playwright and Singer Eldra Nerhard. Of course he can be quite persuasive at times and has been known to quote the great artists of history from memory and turning it into a scathing rebuke. Back home his eleven father had to intervene because of his youngest son's habit of causing duels with the supporters of bad theater, poetry and other arts within the court of XXX; and winning those duels.
Although technically not a member of court, because his full elven brothers and sisters are less than thrilled with the baby of the family, he has been given the occasional task to find and rout out spies in the past. His current mission is to hunt down the thief, or spy, who stole the Mask of Curna from the temple of the five gods in XXX.

Re: The rolling mountains twenty treasures (ooc)
I see no problems in mixing the Traits, Ideals, Bonds and Flaws... as long as you feel you can play it.
About mixing Criminal and Entertainer in other ways, i just want to be sure.
you want:
Deception, Stealth, proficiency in disguise kit and a gaming set.
A crowbar, dark cloth and the 15 gold (in punch)
Is That correct?
As Paladins are no longer restricted to LG, i see no problem in the background, and changing Thiefs tools for disguise kit seems logical when taking the spy subclass.
Please note that Thinks also have "spy background" just from the Bard view point instead. (no problem, just a heads up)

yes so many mixed races *evil racist laugh*
si binadamu was born about 80 years ago in the dwarven of swili when he was a youngster his clan got attacked by orcs who butcherd his kind for the gold they mined, si binadsmu was the only survivor found wandering through the vally by a sheep herder who took him in and raised him as his own believing him to be a lost human child. after a few years when he would not grow like the other humans he built him self stilts on which he walks ever since. when he reached aduldhood he started taveling t he region taking up odd jobs and mercenery jobs. after his scared childhood his developed a strong hatred of anything non human , completly denying his dwarven background, going by the namr adem hommehombre

But as the character has gelled a bit more I'm not sure deception is a good fit with the character truthfully.
edit: Can I take soldier but then replace:
The game of chance with a musical instrument proficiency, and correspondingly the game of chance with a musical instrument?
And then replace Intimidation with Persuasion?

We still need to hear what Theis wants to play.
@Quarg: If you do not feel like going the Deception rute, feel free to make a change.
@Ask, Theis & Quarg we will also need the following:
@All players:
A question/suggestion:
When the game begins, you are all at Eelsbridge, having stayed at the local inn from at least the day before, I suggest we make a Thread where you can talk "ingame off game" that is, so you can have dialog and ask questions about each other and the world (minor actions also if you wish) as a normal forum game, before we start the game, and between the two or three sessions.
This will safe introduction time and will act as an "camp" activity between sessions.
What do you guys think?

Proposed Character:
Name: Thedor Laur├½ lira HilÔÇÖdar
Height: 5ÔÇÖ10ÔÇØ
Weight: 210 lbs
Description: A half-elf Captain of the Royal Eastersun Guard with ties to its nobity acting as a diplomat when required. Described as a tall, broad shouldered man with brown hair and mustache he is seldom taken for a half elf except for his ears and/or blue silver eyes. Many places that he goes he is mistaken for a wandering bard due to his proficiency with a shawm and his wild tales of places beyond the western sea.
Question: Sounds good to me.

Re: The rolling mountains twenty treasures (ooc)
Busy week but I managed to at least get the stats ready for my character tonight will try to do some more work on it before the we reach the weekend.
Took the human variant and got the dual wielder feat, medicine skill and better strength and dexterity. I also went from chainmail to scale mail which gives me 25 extra gold right?
Got a sheet right here: http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheet.html#id=1075304

That looks good to me.
I can see you've not choosed any Ideals, Bonds or Flaws.
They are not necessary per see, but they do make for good role playing pointers.
Also, as mentioned earlier:
As soon as I have that and confirmation on the hook for the last of you (I got some) I'll set up the Netted Serpent Inn, and let the before game-game begin
