((meh, it's basically free info. You guys can also roll insight though ))
Ok, the first question is:
"We are traders and adventurers, seeking stories and ancient places. Do you know of any such places between here and Estmont that we might find interesting?"
((The rest of the questions will depend on what he says)).

Maji gives a devious grin and pokes Tess' shoulder to get her attention to the chalkboard, What about: our ranger likes the good stuff, where can we find some?
((Oh I agree. Still a suggestion though.spiderwrangler wrote:((Asking for "everything" might be against the spirit of the agreement.))

"Ah, uh-huh... the Blasted Wastes were not always such, no they weren't. Used to be cities, towns, all long gone, claimed by rock and desert. Wander far enough, like I did, and you'll find something of interest."

Re: The Sundered Way
Nemeia gives Maji a curious look ((I've got no idea what the "good stuff" is referring to! Should I?))
Turning back to the halfling, her attention has been piqued by the tales of lost cities, and memory jogged:
History: 1D20+2 = [10]+2 = 12
"Interesting... If we wanted to explore these wastes and hire a guide to lead us to these ruins, who would you recommend that we hire?"

"Hire? Hmmm... tricky. Not many folks know the Wastes outside the Roadway. Things shift in the Wastes too, paths get swallowed, yes. Few tribesfolk, maybe them, yes?"

"Where could we find these friendly tribesfolk? And Is there anything important we should know about them, like the right sort of gift to offer them, or anything we shouldn't do?
I think that's my four questions. Thank you for answering them."

"Tribesfolk? You wander far enough off the Roadway, they find you, yes? Friendly... maybe you talk fast, yes?"
"Wastes are harsh home, yes? Gifts to make life better, perhaps? Don't go where they don't let people go."
Your transaction complete, he turns back to tending to his grove of brambles.

((Translation: you don't find them, they find you. If they're in a good mood, they MIGHT let you live. They can be bribed, but don't count on gold and jewels to do it. Anything that helps with survival in a harsh environment might work. Don't go to sacred or forbidden sites or they will kill you.))

Right. Or they might just know better what places are home to deadly stuff. Either way, we should do as we're told and be respectful.

Randy looks at Tess. "So are we to go adventuring into the wastes, or are we going to proceed to Esmont? We didn't exactly come prepared as a trading expedition..."

Coljin will get out a days worth of rations.

Nemeia shrugs. "No reason to change our plans on a whim as far as I can see."
((Are we done asking questions? The guy might know about our bandits or the orcs, and seems to have information about the Lord of Estmont that we might want. Nem is done, but he might be a useful guy to talk to a bit more))

The halfling politely accepts Coljin's offering. "Ok, thanks. I have plenty of berries, but a bit of variety never hurts, yes?"
He clenches a hand, opening it to reveal familiar berries. Berries of the good variety.
"Here, you want some of these? Eat them before tomorrow."

Re: The Sundered Way
((Ah. So our little madman is either of the druidic or ranger persuasion? I believe those are the two classes that can cast good berries. ))
