Suddenly occurs to me to ask: I picked Chelydrians in part because turtles are fairly aquatic. I'm assuming this applies to Chelydrians as well?
All of the ships will have an amount of Wounds, but giving them their own pros and cons is a bit much other than assuming they're well armored thanks to all the dwarves. I'm thinking PCs will be captains of individual vessels or high-ranking members of said vessels. One of them is a Galleon, one a Carrack, a Galley, 2 Cogs, a "ruined" ship for the Simple Celled (their acid gets everywhere, resulting in what appears to be a "zombie" ship...), and a Knarr (with modified "roof" for the Drow).
Drats, I thought ship pro/cons would be a good way to apply all the different jobs and and racial stuff without having to factor 50 different npcs into everything. Still I'm assuming we'll still be able to modify our ships, so its still good. The Mermaid's Sunstone (Dwarvotaurs) could add a strong ram and chain shot then just try to board so their berserkers can do the work. The dwarves would probably just turn theirs into an iron clad. I guess we can work with this. (I like it when ships have character)

I was expecting mysterious benefactor + pirates would give us a mysterious and powerful super-ship (something like 45 wounds, and some powerful magic defenses) but since its lacking in your mock ups I guessing you have other ideas. Considering changing my vote now.

Also why do people want warzone? It essentially tells enemies "target us" and something of power is a little too ambiguous of an advantage for my taste.

Post apoc + pirates.... is anyone else imagining the movie Waterworld? I always did think he had a cool watercraft.

The only winning tweaks I don't like are post Apoc and Space. ResourcePoor is annoying but acceptable.

I'm not getting into any bargaining about tweaks, because that will just lead to people madly changing their votes and turning this into a confusing mess.

I was more intrested in getting a citadel on our island and votes were such that 'benifiactor' seemed the best way to go to get that...

And now I need to see how to get a caravel rather than a cog...

Also concerning the Mysterious Benefactor/ Resource issue:
Why does everyone assume that our ships are our only assets, and we travel around like nomads?
The way I understood it ( especially with Abandoned Citadel winning) was that we had some central base we were operating from.

I think the real reason that everyone was choosing resource - was because of the easy access to trade routes for pirates.

Personally I'd prefer the nomadic lifestyle. Its part of the fun of being a pirate. Granted most did have a home base they operated from but I want to raid, pillage and plunder. (also notably everyone has voted for ship crews and no land-based support staff, so I think most of us want the same thing)

And don't drop resource poor-, pirates on a trade route is classic. And it grants us extra tweaks.

Does tolerant cancel out the diplomacy penalty from Skaven
Everything similar will be averaged. So probably, but don't hold me to it yet.
Re: Skaven: Nope. Tolerant just means everyone is neutral to start and first contacts will never be worse than neutral... but that doesn't mean things can't go bad fast...
Yes, Chelydrians are aquatic. As are the Simple Celled, as they don't technically need to breathe and can get oxygen from water if they needed to (Aquatic environment tweak + Simple Celled = jellyfish? :P )
There will be a central base to start from, yes.

Will the Skaven diplomacy penalty affect the whole Civ or only the Skaven? If it's everyone, this is going to be awful.

@chuck
My dwarves are not very ship bound and will likely stay in the base most of the time. I'm not particularly interested in the pirate thing, I just wanna tinker around with some steampunk.

Why are we all assuming that we will be pirates of the water?

Why not sky pirates...especially with steampunk possible.

I want Airships....Airship pirates...

Ships can't survive without a safe harbor someplace...
Cause where in the hell do you think your going to get your food from? (A crew of 7's rations for three months will only feed a crew of 70 for 9 days...)
Where are you going to haul her out and scrape the barnacles off?
Where are you going to get new rope...(lines actually)
(Even Nomads are not that wandering type...they just go from resource point to resource point)

Voting's supposed to be 10 Tweaks to spend (I voted for things costing 1, except for one Tweak costing 2, which is why it seems I've only voted for nine Tweaks). He wanted it clarified, so there.

Edited to add: If people want sky pirates instead of sea pirates, that's doable, seeing Steampunk seems to be popular AND you've got Dwarves to mess with. This is why I gave entries a week for voting. Heh. Airborne environment Tweak will also get you in the sky (depending on if you want wings or not, heh...)

So, whose with me...since we have steampunk lets have Airships and be sky pirates instead of lameo ships on the ocean.

the Abandoned Citadel could be Laputa? Awesome...

1) plunder and trade
2) I got divers
3) plunder and trade
4) and those resource points would be considered hapless ships to plunder.

Also we talked about airborne + pirates as a possibility but the whole more damage things doesn't go over well imo. Still, go steampunk dwarves.

Just so everyone knows, I am adding up the Tweaks for actual cost, a few people will need to readjust their votes, I will post it in a few minutes.
Okay, the following people, in bold, need to change some of their votes in order to come down to the Cost = 10 Tweaks...this includes myself.
Also, I edited the Tweak list to show in (X) the cost of that Tweak, this should make the changes that need to be made more simple...

I say let us make it a mix of sea vessels and airborne, badge...
But if it is steampunk...

Then the whole ship list needs to change
