((Would Ulmwin's magic detect still be active, and would it see anything? I'm not sure how much time would have been spent between activating it and opening up the tomb to go down.))

Re: The Sundered Way
All right, then she'll start walking around the room, testing the walls and checking for secret doors. She's specifically looking for doorways similar to the ones we saw upstairs (that had the undead behind them), if that gives any kind of advantage?
Can she apply her proficiency to the investigation roll because of thieves tools or anything? I only ask because she cannot roll Investigation to save her life, as I shall now demonstrate:
Investigation: 2D20+2 = [7, 8]+2 = 17
Yup.
Proficiency would add +2 to each roll, but it doesn't matter, because those are terrible. Apologies for the syntax, I screwed it up.

((So that would be a 7+2, I'll say you can apply proficiency from your tool knowledge, so that gets you to a mighty 11.))
Tess walks the perimeter as Ulmwin starts humming a ritual, she's looking for hidden doors, but none jump out at her. She sees various murals, but they all seem to be the same sort of theme... achievements, real or imagined of a mighty snake-man (pre-mummification).

Fair enough. What sort of stories do the murals depict (roughly)? Like do they show him as a military leader, or religious figure or what?

((Based on your roll, he's certainly in charge in all of them, with the other figures subservient, but it's hard to tell if it is military or religious, but it certainly could be some combination of the two.))

Re: The Sundered Way
Looking closer, you notice the other figures seem to be a mixture, many seem to be humans, but some have more snakelike features... what you imagine that snake armed skeleton would have looked like in life, others with various serpent body parts.

Re: The Sundered Way
Randy looks the central sarcophagus over carefully for lines that indicate compartments and for any obvious traps. If he doesn't see anything, he'll climb in and start tapping around the inside with his dagger hilt, listening for a h0llow sound that might indicate a hidden space.

Re: The Sundered Way
From the outside, Randy doesn't make out any indication of traps or the like, it is quite plain stone. There is a few inch tall slot in the back wall that runs the length of the sarcophagus, currently occupied with a stone slab that is likely the lid. Climbing in, he has a look around... it is quite spacious for his much smaller frame, but obviously with different anatomy in mind. The bottom is littered with sand and bits of fabric, the whole thing having a dry scent of old death. Along the back wall, he finds a section of stone that is slightly raised from that around it, in a circular shape a bit bigger than his spread hand.

Re: The Sundered Way
(( Just in case Randy does a Buck Rogers, been nice knowin' ya!))
Assuming this may be hidden compartment, Randy starts working...carefully... on the raised stone, seeing if there's a way of prying it up.

((Can I give a "very quick inspection" on Ulmwin's part before he'd start recasting his ritual? Tbf, I'm considering just casting the spell as-is, since I doubt they'd expect more combat at this point. ))

Re: The Sundered Way
There isn't much on then, for as painted as the rest of the room is, they are quite plain... perhaps giving you cause to begin casting your ritual.
Inside, Randy is working at the raised section... ((Straight DEX check please.))

Re: The Sundered Way
Randy fiddles with it enough to be able to determine that it is a "push", rather than a "pry open" bit of stone feature.

(( I was afraid of that... ))
Randy looks at the big button rather dubiously and then up at the slot where the lid is.
"It looks like a big button. I'm a little leery about pushing it. It might shut me in here."

Re: The Sundered Way
"THAT'S what you're worried about?"
Nem finishes looking at the painted walls and wanders over to Randy to look at the button. She checks for traps, and hopes he helps.
Here are two investigation rolls for the button and sarcophagus. If she can add her thieves tools proficiency, she'll add 2 to the roll.
Detect traps: 1D20+2 = [15]+2 = 17
1D20+2 = [10]+2 = 12
" What are you doing, thinking of pressing that by yourself?! We have wizards with us, Randy! Just ask Holger to use his magic hand trick! Now step back a little while I check if it's dangerous."
