Previously, I confidently declared that somebody -hero villain or both- will fall into the Forever Drop at the exit; the Map of Thuntonia shows a bridge across it but not at the entrance. Along this Golden Gate-sized landmark is where I think Minmax & Kin's brief reunion will cruelly end, as is Thunt's way.

I think it unlikely that Kin will go away until we've resolved the collar and the wizard who made all those artifacts and also made Goblinslayer part tree. Forgath is going to be killed by a dwarf, which also likely means Forgath won't make it to the end. Minmax and at least some of the goblins will likely make it all the way to the end. I wouldn't be surprised if he and Kin either have a happily ever after or they have a last goodbye.BuildsLegos wrote:Previously, I confidently declared that somebody -hero villain or both- will fall into the Forever Drop at the exit; the Map of Thuntonia shows a bridge across it but not at the entrance. Re: Dec 14th 2017 - Aw, crap
At least three creations of the mad wizard have perished (Kissless, Goblinslain, Saral Cyack), so the only reason in relation to that character that Kin has to survive is to deliver a proper punishment for creating the leash. Anyway, my thinking is that Forgath, Bowst, & Idle will find their way onto the exit bridge in time for everything to play out there; and there's no doubt in my mind that IF Kore is going to die then, fall damage will be a vital component. Who dies to make that possible, who is taken with him, and who survives can't be objectively stated yet; but don't forget how rich this story is with tragedy.ForgetsOldName wrote:I think it unlikely that Kin will go away until we've resolved the collar and the wizard who made all those artifacts and also made Goblinslayer part tree. Why is the rape leash not under that armor? Kin is supposedly far too smart for it not to be...

Re: Dec 14th 2017 - Aw, crap
@Xavier78: I do not see the leash hanging free.
I see the straps of her backpack, and the tail of her dragon (?) which could be mistaken for the leash.
And in panel 3, I see her upper arm which could be mistaken for the leash.
But I do not see the leash itself.
It is blueish (http://goblinscomic.com/comic/10222006). amd her glove ahs a white rope tied to it, which I initially thought to be the leash leading to herself, so that she symbolically holds her own actions in her own hand. But that rope is not the leash.
Maybe her leash has been transformed into a glove ?
But then, I often do not see the obvious, so I may be mistaken.
Awww, heartbraking. She felt which door he chose.
But she did not feel which way he actually went.
I find it interesting, that we can see another door in the background of panel 6. Where does it come from, where does it lead to?
It seems that this Dungeon Crawl is a maze of doors and interconnecting passages.
Will our protagonists find their ways to each other and out of the Dungeon?
Also: some sketches to today's comic:

Mad Wizard. Granted, I couldn't find anything about the collar, but Kin does establish that at least 1 (type of) magical item was created by the chimera creator.

Now that I notice it's the exact same color as the collar, I can't expect the gauntlet to be anything other than some kind of cursed-item transformation or mitigation device; so long as she wears it, the collar won't be a problem. Although I imagine she'll still want it removed.Krulle wrote:Maybe her leash has been transformed into a glove ?

Re: Dec 14th 2017 - Aw, crap
An item that has a 50% chance of destroying a mountain qualifies as artifact. There are a lot of artifact worthy items in this world, so maybe it's unimportant who creates them. But I figured either Goblin Slayer made it all up, or the wizard made it for him.
Personally I'd be disappointed if the wizard never shows up. Also, remember Saral Caine was wearing a Cryptic Falls symbol, and Saral Caine was made by the mad wizard, so that is unresolved. Probably all this relates to the curse on Cryptic Falls, which also needs some plot to explain it all.
I could be wrong. Who knows.
ETA:
Okay, I just though of something. Maybe someone else has thought of this before but I don't recall.
In the Maze of Many, a level 5 Forgath could cast remove curse on his Kin, and if you could persuade them to do it 50 times or so, and none of them died, you could be sure the leash was safe to remove. If it explodes, everyone dies, then they resurrect. If nothing happens, your party has an advantage.
I do recall someone suggesting that as a Maze strategy. What I don't recall is someone like the 4 Kins using it to gather information. I think all the Kins need to do to preserve their memory is to break their counters, and it's likely that at least some other Kins would try this strategy. So maybe Kin figured out how to remove the collar after all.

Kills-a-Werebear was killed by a...I can't find any proof that Saral Caine is a barbarian or 7th+ Level, but I dare say that plot-line has been subtly put to rest.

Saral Caine is the Human/Stone Giant mentioned by Fox then? I always wondered what the deal was with him.

Actually, she does still have the collar. It's on over the collar of her shirt. Don't know where the leach is... perhaps under her armor?

Re: Dec 14th 2017 - Aw, crap
I don't think anyone has missed the collar remaining, but I should have mentioned the leash when speculating about the purpose of the gauntlet. She always tied the leash around her arm inside the sleeve; so she's doing the same here if the leash hasn't been modified as I presume. That is to say, I'm of the belief that the leash has BECOME the gauntlet.Lanzlo wrote:Actually, she does still have the collar. It's on over the collar of her shirt. i think the leash is wrapped around her blue hand gauntlet.
Did anyone else think that pillar the stairs are circling down around is a face of a screaming Forgath?
Great update ... lovely emotions shown on the faces of MinMax and Kin. Absolutely top shop!

Re: Dec 14th 2017 - Aw, crap
I asked about the wall-faces on livestream years ago and I recall Thunt said they represent actual never-to-be-directly-identified characters related to the creation of the Dragon's Maw. There aren't enough identifiers to say it's Forgath, this dungeon (sans the stop-fighting-yourself room) warps space but not time, and we would have seen Forgath get killed/cursed/whatever makes that happen if it happened.

Wait a minute here. Really out there theory but you never know. Idle has been extremely physically changed by a curse. What if Bowst has been changed just as extremely and he is actually a dwarf. He snaps and he is the one who winds up killing Forgath. Two prophesies fulfilled.

I love that theory, except, when they meet Forgath calls Bowst "human". http://goblinscomic.com/comic/04012015
Without correcting Forgath, Bowst in turn calls Forgath "dwarf". http://goblinscomic.com/comic/040122015

Re: Dec 14th 2017 - Aw, crap
It's possible Bowst was just too frazzled to correct him and would rather bicker like the idiot he is. Incidentally, his low intelligence could be another curse. Then again, Y&B already confirmed that Kore will be the culprit.
Concerning trajectory: with all the impossible doorways we've seen at this point, going "down" is mostly meaningless; Forgath is on the outside anyway and the only gaps in stone have been made by creatures we want nothing to do with.
It's not impossible for the gauntlet's feature to be "keep touching a cursed item with this to subdue a curse", but that's not the leash.Tofu wrote:I think the leash is wrapped around her blue hand gauntlet.

I wonder if changing Kin's coloring from flesh-colored hips to her current green hips was a conscious thing -- if not by her, in character, then by Thunt as the person making decisions -- to represent that she's no longer a sex-slave, or just a byproduct of changing colorists 3(?) times since her introduction.BuildsLegos wrote:[url=http://goblinscomic.com/comic/05312009]Wizard[/url.

Kin's human hips disappear under the coat in her first moment of freedom. As for the green hips, prepare to relive repressed trauma.

Re: Dec 14th 2017 - Aw, crap
Notice Kin's collar here. It's turned sideways and the ring where the leash would attach is touching the top of the gauntlet. The lines at the top of the gauntlet mimic how she used to wrap the leash around her arm. I think the gauntlet is the leash transformed. What used to be her torment and greatest fear is now something that protects her. Poetic.
