Anything is possible, I suppose, but I don't recall anything else from the Tempts Fate comics ever making it into the real comic, so seems unlikely.

Good things: Action returns to the comic.

Bad things: This totally validates what many were saying when they rested. I'm going to find it hard to feel bad for them when Kore shows up, because they could've totally avoided it if they were careful. It's hard to sympathize with characters that do demonstrably stupid things.

Depends how long it's been, though, doesn't it? I mean, eventually they'd have to sleep. What if they've been there for over a day? Forgath, Bowst & Idle slept, so if the timelines are synced, then it's been quite a while. OTOH, if they've only been there a couple of hours, then yeah, it wasn't the brightest thing in the world to take a nap.

It seems that they went through the rooms pretty fast, but the last room is huge, so that might very well have taken a long time.
Minmax hasn't realized that others could possibly enter the first room, that's for sure.

Also, I like how some of my criticisms get resolved in a way that I didn't expect it to. This is looking like it could become very interesting. Hopefully the next comic doesn't take too long to arrive :)
I feel smart, but I'm pretty sure I'm an idiot.

I wonder if this may be a slightly good thing. Door was kind of dumb, but basically helpful for the group because it reflected the nature of the person who it was attuned to. When Kore comes across it he might find it a bit more judgmental. Assuming of course that the group can head out before it tries to murder them.

Just looked at the page again and what looks like chief's soul has shown up in kore's ime in the bottom left of that panel. I wonder if anyone in the gap will see that. :'(

Oooookay. Does that mean Kore is talking to himself, or did he find some other deceased humanoid to use his weird pills on?

There were plenty of dead adventurers in the rope room, but in the entrance chamber? Not likely - the goblins did search it when looking for the secret door.

The thought of Kore walking along talking to himself is unnerving.

I was figuring it's most likely a spell with a verbal component, but looking at the core paladin spells, there aren't many that would be obviously needed in the first room.

It's a little bit contrived, given his speech impediment and him not being a Scooby Doo villain, but he could've just gone "now where are those pesky Goblins..." or some other talk-to-self type thing. Doubt it though. Or, you know, "oof!" or some other sound effect when be fell in through the Maw might even have been enough to trigger it. I assumed he'd cast something like Light or CLW, but maybe we'll see conclusively with a scene change to Kore.

As we've seen, he needs to speak the words aloud for "Lay on hands" to work, so that's something he might reasonably have said.

Or, you know... sure, he's usually the grim silent type, but he might have exclaimed "Aha!" when he found the secret door.

Kore was surely singing a song about a teapot to find the secret door.

The only problem is that he'd need a bald human for that to work.

Kore: "LAY ON HANDS!"
(Grabs the baby head from his IME)
Kore: "Right, start singing."

Do we know if Kore actually has souls trapped somehow or if it's just a visual effect? I didn't think IMEs would be that powerful. Do you think a paladin could even learn that sort of spell? Is it Soul Jar? I'm way out of date on DnD.

*shrugs*
Their souls are on his face, and it would be a mighty coincidence if he always had an IME like that. Plus, there is precedent for IMEs changing - one of the Axe stories was about a paladin that was guilty over some people he was keeping safe getting massacred, so his IME turned to rainfall like eternal tears.
