Clankmas Day - A moment of Reflection on his younger years

Sam remembers the fondly the day before Clankmas that his Clank mum and Clank Da would gather them together beside the fire-barrel that kept their tunnel warm. Gathered in their rags they would sit at the feet of Mum and Da and listen to stories about the Great Clank who created the first world, the one beneath this one, made of metal. This was why clanks don't like the surface world they said, because of the words of the Great Clank. "And lower, I'll be with you".

The children would sit there, eating roasted rat feet by the fire. They were battered with motor oil and roasted in a metal skillet making them nicely browned on the outside but still crunchy on the inside. As they drifted off to sleep listening to the songs that Mum and Da sang.

It was the following waking time that was the best of course. There would be presents, wrapped carefully in Rat-Pelts, their tails tied into bows, one present for each of them. They were taught early on not to touch the present that wasn't theirs of course, poor jimmy lost three fingers on his left hand learning that lesson. Though it was the screams when Da cauterized the wound that made the other children learn never to make such a mistake.

Sam remembered that year fondly....other than the bloody-screaming of course, as it was the year he got his own tin cup.

I'm away till the 5th Jan with limited internet so I'm gonna be inactive until then unfortunately. Enoch will make his omelet and eat it (sharing it if there are portions to spare), and read the book on Woodworking (or the book on Trees of the Northern Woods if no-one else is.) Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Sam is a disheveled, uncleanly fellow apparently... I suppose he is heavily engrossed in his work..but I wonder what will happen when he begins to stink...

I think it's quite funny that Ursula is just like "well, I've been kidnapped and mind wiped and dropped into murder-castle-land. Oh well, this is my life now. I'm going to drink tea, shower regularly, tidy up my little piece of this murder-castle and not worry about the future at all" :p

I don't think there were kids clothes sent down, in which case Sam is swimming in his new pants and the armored shirt August made him is more of a dress...

You lost your pants, your shirt is full of holes but still a shirt. I think Ursula gave you pants from what was dropped off, but since Sam is only a meter tall, they are going to be huge on him.

Heya folks, can we please return any finished books and scrolls to the bookshelf? Most of us have 1-2 finished books on our bookshelves, and if we return them all it makes it easier to search for stuff to read rather than opening up everyone's tab individually looking for something specific.

Spider, by default Enoch will return a book to the bookshelf once finished with it, provided he is in the workshop or sleeping chamber (if that's ok.)

Hmmmm....yes. I gave sam the flame modular for weapons. It used to be more badass than fire but I do admit the idea was a bit op, even though I thought it was cool.

Gabe asks Castlina to turn off gas to the nearest wall sconce to give it time to cool, then gathers up some materials and starts planning out an ambitious project for when Hiero awakens. Between the two of them, they just might have a chance to make a small functional steam generator.

- TASK - STEAM PLANS
Steamworks (1d5) + Metalworking (1d7+1d5) + Propellers (1d5) = = 4,5,4,5 = 18 CP / 10 CP needed, gains 0.3 SP in Steamworks, 0.2 SP in Metalworking, 0.2 SP in Propellers, 0.2 SP in Plumbing, and 0.1 SP in Fire. Gabe advances to Level 2 in Propellers!

He begins to suspect that the roll of steel sheet will prove to lack the strength to contain the amount of pressure that they'd like to be able to build up... perhaps the metal table top could be used... or some of the coils of steel tubing that have a thicker wall than the roll of sheet...
